Fair point, Teacup.

Wolfsburg official

'Der Brasilianer steht nach wie vor beim VfL Wolfsburg unter Vertrag und wird auch weiterhin mit der Mannschaft trainieren sowie mit ins Trainingslager fahren, unter Vertrag und wird auch weiterhin mit der Mannschaft trainieren sowie mit ins Trainingslager fahren, sich zugleich aber nach einem neuen Verein umsehen'

Diego is still under contract at Wolfsburg, and will go with the club when they leave for a training camp, BUT he will be looking for a new club. Meaning he's basically transfer listed... There will be a lot of suitors, I'm sure. Roberto P, Nicko or others can probably shed a light on price, wages and interested clubs.. Brilliant player.

Our best shot would be to bring in Jermaine Jones, this way he could chat up Diego by sharing his own views on Felix Magath. Good coach, but apparently not a people's person?

yes diego is a cracking player , but don't know if he would be welcomed by venckys they don't want a hot head playing for us ,look what they did to diouf, I just don't know if he has the power and also think he might be a bit light weight for the prem

Diego lightweight for the Prem ?????? Why?

Scott Parker doesn't do to bad, height 175cm, Weight 70kg.

Diego, height 173cm Weight 70kg

Diego on his day is a top player stick him in the hole behind the striker/s we'll get a bag full, players like Diego don't need to be robust or tough in the tackle, that's what players like Jones are. for. :P

------------------Cisse

Olsson--------Diego--------Hoilett

---------N'Zonzi-----Jones

Wolfsburg, I believe played him behind two strikers even better with the right MF partner. Bring it on.

Lots of noise being generated but little being secured which is disappointing with all the 'big guns' having been in and around.

We still cannot sign anyone from the rest of Europe I think you'll find. At risk of sounding like a chav...chill the fook out.

Thats too bad nobody apart from me was keen on Holden or Demsey either. :)

Haha, there's no national agenda. Dempsey is one of my favourite players in the Prem and has been for years. I've seen Edu a few times and he's certainly no J Jones.

I have followed this player Diego Ribas for quite a few years now when he played with Robiniho at Santos and always liked what i saw. I think there is no reason why he couldnt make it over here in the EPL and if he is available on a free plenty of teams would be interested.

Diego would be an excellent signing. Bit life Rafa VDV for Spuds last season. One to keep an eye on.

Hope we can do a deal for Cisse.

Personally I would love Forlan, but I have watched him since his days in Argentina, so have wanted him at Rovers for a long time.

Quite excited by Baez, looks a good prospect (YouTube only viewing), so who knows!

I agree we just have to have patience.

All well and good but I have the feeling that we need to make a big signing to get the 'feelgood factor' so that people like J Jones, Hoilett and Samba feel comfortable staying and others feel comfortable joining, and the sooner the better!

he's not the same type of player, the only reason i even brought up jones is because they split time in the midfield for the US. I'd prefer to see them playing next to each other for the Yanks, but that wont happen as long as the manager's son is there.

Edu was great during the World Cup specifically when he came on at halftime against Slovenia and helped the us come back in that match, he also tends to play his best on a bigger stage, WC, Europa League, Old Firm for example.

That said i'd prefer JJ but we do need depth in the midfield and I think Edu is ready.

Though, being 'lightweight' is really more about attitud than physique. And Parker certainly puts himself about and is willing to get dirty. I know little about Diego, but if he's the type that drifts out of games when it gets a bit chippy, the EPL is not the place for him.

Hate to say it, but I like Edu, and he's not quality enough to be a regular in our side. He'd be, at best, N'zonzi's backup.

Definitely haven't seen enough of him to argue against that. There was a bit of a negative response yesterday when his name came up.
