If every other club of our type in the premier league had signed all their targets then that might be a valid article, but, apart form Newcastle, few have done anything yet. Villa reckon that Ashley Young is gone and they've already let Friedel go. Spurs could lose Modric and then possibly Bale. So why pick on us? Ah yes, we have new owners who dared to sack Allardyce, who was not a media favourite until he was sacked by some chicken farmers from Indai when suddenly he was everybody's darling. In other words it's a load of rubbish. \if we lose Samba and Hoillett doesn't sign, they it's a blow but no player is bigger than our club. It may take us a while to recover, as it did when Shearer left, when Duff left etc etc etc but we are still here irritating those who feel tht you should only be in the top flight if you have more than 40 000 fans turning up every week, regardless of what you achieve.

And how do you know it is pretty much nail on the head?

Edit - Also learn how to quote.

He's (liam) missed my main point which is that therre wasn't a positive comment to be found in the article. Hows that hitting the nail on the head. We've lots to be positive and optimistic about-how about putting that into print and giving a balanced article not all one sided.

I also think that transfers could be difficult because of Steve Kean. My view is, if venkys really want this club to be a success, then the change of manager has to be the first transfer the club does this summer. It has to be hard for a novice manager to convince any player to either come or remain with the club. Hope, for the sake of the club I am wrong - but, time will tell.

I may be behind on the news here but Park has hinted he may leave United. With just a year left on contract surely a bid of 8m will have to be looked at? I've wanted him at Rovers for years, he might see it as a decent place for him to play his last few seasons.. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/929177/park-ji-sung-ponders-manchester-united-exit?cc=5901

Park would be a good signing for Rovers in many respects.

Why would players not come to Rovers because of Kean? He is a novice, i dont not argue that but maybe players will want to give him a go? I know half the fans on here are happy to let him have a go at the big time. Money talks, players will come because the money is better. Do you think people dont take jobs even tho it is a bigger wage packet because they think there boss is a novice? NO. They come because they get a bigger wage regardless and get on with job. Being footballers and proffesionals they should get on with playing football for the team that is paying regardless of who the manager is!

Balanced article, papers have no interest in that.

I get irritated that people have to refer back to Indian owners all the time. Is that the issue ?

I think you'll find we are the racist ones for sacking Ince, allegedly, according to that particular paper...

With some of our stars possibly leaving (Jones, Samba, MGP and Hoilett) I can understand why some players would be reluctant to join, especially as we barely survived this season. But at the same time we don't know how many moves have been made, and whether any decent players have actually told us no yet. If we made an offer to Miranda and nobody wants to join us, then why hasn't he already said no? To squeeze more money out of Atletico Madrid? We have no indications of that so far...

At this stage we can only speculate, and to bombastically say that Kean won't have enough pulling power is just guesswork. If we can't attract proper players we can't attract a proper manager. The same plan will be on display for any potential player as for a potential new manager. Some players will always fancy going elsewhere, no matter how good an offer we may give them. Dugarry chose AC Milan over us, Keane chose ManU over us and so on - we gave Phil Jones one heck of an offer but look what happened.

Chill out and give it a couple more weeks before jumping to any conclusions.

Agree 100%.Kean simply not a big enough 'name' to attract the marquee signing's like Adebayor et al to Ewood....remember the influence and impact Dalglish had when he arrived in the hot seat.

Dann's never seen happening, far better clubs than us in for him!

I guess Spurs and Liverpool are attractive moves at the moment, seeing as both needs at least one of two in a central defence pairing... If Samba does move, Dann should at least be on the list. Born in Liverpool and an ex- ST holder though, British-buying Dalglish does look the favourite. To be honest, I don't watch a lot of other teams in the PL, my interest in Birmingham is usually stretched to two games a season. Johnson or Dann - or none of them? Matthew Mills or someone similar sounds more reasonable signing to me, given Brum's valuation of the two, and Dann's injury problems this season...

Do we know if the £12 million release clause for Samba mentioned in this article is correct or just pure fabrication on the part of David Anderson used as a stick to beat us with.

I seem to recall Nicko mentioning this wasn't the case not so long ago. I certainly hope so. Don't want our hands being tied again. I do find it very odd as another poster mentioned not so long ago how Mirror journalists often sing from completely different hymn sheets.

However Nicko has pretty much never been wrong on Rovers related matters before now so I know who I'd believe.

They only write negative things because they can't come up with any positive-spin puns.

It's just deep down racism as well. I don't see West Ham getting called dildos even though their owners took them down.

Many of our members are too young to remember the Dalglish effect SG.

Which is why i asked Nicko to sort him out this is lazy journalism and minimum research has gone into writing it. Pure pants.

Doesn't mean they are better clubs, just have more money. Size isn't everything.

Hear bloody hear. Sick of reading that!

Bigger clubs? Yes, if you are looking at crowds and pulling power.

Better teams? Yes.

Better clubs? NEVER.

I hope nicko being quiet means he's overloaded with work ;)

Bassong and Danny Rose for Samba would be good, or Pavlyuchenko who is a certain 10+ goal PL striker.

Though I understand Venky's from a PR perspective want to purchase players from Brazil, few Brazilian players have enjoyed success in the Premier League. Don't know about you but think we should buy mainly players with experience from a European league, and perhaps one Brazilian player with a certain level of pedigree in order to sell chickens. If we're going for a big name Brazilian I'd rather sign one of the up and coming youngsters instead of an ageing one - now that Luis Fabiano has gone back to Brazil I can't think of many established players we could tempt into joining. Elano or Jo perhaps? Not sure if they are big enough names to be honest...

Are you Danny Rose's agent?

He's very poor, he didnt even stand out in a poor Bristol City squad last season.

He played for the U21s last week was poor....again.

Stay Away!
