So happy we didnt go for Carew. Hes past it. On the other hand; Moa who we whwre linked with are scoring for fun for Hannover in Bundesliga. Could have been shrewd business.

Stoke agreed personal terms with Palacios, so another potential part exchange gone.

Quality signing. Stoke really irritate me - they have A LOT of money, but the media talk about them like they're plucky underdogs.

Be interesting to see who goes out on loan from city. Could be 5 or 6 very good players available.

Steve Bruce said them and most other clubs will be looking at City for loan deals, Adam Johnson would be a peach if available.

Why would Adam Johnson be available?! They're in four competitions this year, they're going to need most of their fringe players.

Bellamy/Santa Cruz/Adebayor are all out of favour, so they could be loaned out. Johnson will DEFINITELY see a lot of minutes though.

I think Johnson is used best as an impact sub - bring him on at 60-70 minutes and he'll change a game, start him and he drifts in and out. Can't see him starting many at City but I think it'll be at least another year before he's sick of it and stamping his feet.

Palacios to Stoke for £8m is said to be a goer, I expect Spurs could use the money for a Samba bid, although I'd personally love Palacios at Rovers.

Spurs fans rate Palacios very highly, good signing for Stoke.

Can't believe Wenger has just spent £12m on another young winger when their defence is like it is.

Could be his last season if trophies don't come

That £12m is offset by getting rid of Eboue and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, though. And it allows them to lose Nasri, bringing in another £22m from City and allowing them to sign a defender.

There's zero value in buying Samba, Cahill or Jagielka for Wenger. Big money, big wages, a "one year max contract after you turn 30" rule in place.

Why he would sign Chamberlain for £15m or whatever and not sign Juan Mata for £20m is beyond me.

I just can't see what Chamberlain will possibly add to Arsenal, not just now but in the future as well.. average average player.

Juan Mata on the other hand looks stunning and would fit in with Arsenal perfectly.

Wenger out for me.

Wenger out? I'd take him in a heartbeat.

He really is a fantastic manager, but he's so ridiculously stubborn, and IMO it's going to result in him getting canned at the end of this season.

He's needed a defender and a defensive midfielder for so long it's embarassing.

Posted

Yeah he's a very good manager.

But sacking him at Arsenal has to be done for the reasons mentioned above.

If he won't change then he has to go.. they're not gonna win trophies his way so either his way changes or they get someone else in.

Not saying he's a rubbish manager or anything.. He's clearly not.

I hope he resigns, too good a manager to go out not on his terms in my eyes.

Agreed, the worst thing is, he completely dismantled what was a winning formula he had with 'the invincibles' and turned his team into a bunch of soft lads who take the moral high ground on how to play the game and how to tackle, whilst being dirtier than some of the teams they criticised!

He has been unlucky in that RVP is injured a hell of a lot, and when he isn't- his goals to games ratio is very impressive. However, Arsenal fans have every right to be hacked off, 6% increase in season ticket sales after 5 years of no trophies and no major purchase to speak of, with annual suggestions that the club's 2 best players will leave!
