roverandout Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 bolton have made quite a few shrewd signings over the summer, can see them being top half along with sunderland and stoke, newcastle still have a good enough squad to be in midtable, makes our job even harder this season to finish anywhere near midtable.

Dan Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 The gobby Manc guy? Isn't he a United fan? Probably on the wind up I remember him on TalkSport the day we won the league, he was nearly crying. He was whining(as usual) and saying that we were rubbish chamions, then started saying that we didn't deserve it and it should still be 2 points for a draw etc. So funny, wish I'd recorded it.
Fylde Coast Fan Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Villa and Swansea interested in Trezeguet. Wonder why Balaji hasn't offered him £400k a week yet.
Tooogs Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Sad to see one of the worlds best players leaving the EPL. Barcelona will be even stronger next seasonif thats even possible. Arsenal have to buy big before the end of the window, especially if they cash in on Nasri too. Who is available and at that level though? Big season for Wilshere and Ramsey.
Exiled_Rover Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Fabregas to Barca confirmed. Enjoy the bench, Cesc.
Tooogs Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I guarantee if he isn'y injured he will play over 30 games this season. Barcelona don't have a set eleven. They constantly rotate. He will have a big impact.
Bazzanotsogreat Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Barcelona options in CM: Xavi Cesc Busqutes Thiago Iniesta Keita
67splitscreen Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Barcelona options in CM: Xavi Cesc Busqutes Thiago Iniesta Keita Which means some of the back ups may feel they are not being given a chance as they are pushed even further down the pecking order. Some who were maybe thinking they has a chance this season may now see a loan deal more attractive to a siesta.
Josh Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Barcelona options in CM: Xavi Cesc Busqutes Thiago Iniesta Keita And Mascherano if Pique and Puyol are fit otherwise he plays at CB
Exiled_Rover Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 And Mascherano if Pique and Puyol are fit otherwise he plays at CB One of the best indications of the difference in styles between Spanish and English football. Mascherano would get monstered at CB in the Prem.
XLM Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 One of the best indications of the difference in styles between Spanish and English football. Mascherano would get monstered at CB in the Prem. Not playing for Barca he wouldn't. It's more of an indication as to how good Barca are that they can afford to play him in defence.
Exiled_Rover Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Not playing for Barca he wouldn't. It's more of an indication as to how good Barca are that they can afford to play him in defence. So Barca are good enough to stop long balls up to a big, strong forward? Don't think so.
blue/white Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Barcelona options in CM: Xavi Cesc Busqutes Thiago Iniesta Keita never mind.
XLM Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 So Barca are good enough to stop long balls up to a big, strong forward? Don't think so. There are teams that play that style of football in Spain. The finer details are different but the overall tactic is the same as in this league. Not all Spanish sides play pretty Spanish football, just like not all English sides play brutish English football. Barca are just a very, very good side that are plain better than all the teams they come accross on most days.
rogerjonesgloves Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Barcelona options in CM:XaviCescBusqutesThiagoIniestaKeita They missed out on Andrews and had to go for Fabregas, they may regret that. So Barca are good enough to stop long balls up to a big, strong forward? Don't think so. I hope you were being ironic otherwise you look a bit silly. Didn't win much last season did they
Bazzanotsogreat Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 So Barca are good enough to stop long balls up to a big, strong forward? Don't think so. Bareclona defend so high up the pitch that type of striker is rendered useless, unless he can score with his head from 40 yards out?
SamTheShrew Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Only just saw on SSN that Caicedo went to Levante for 800k. Why were we not all over that one?
Eddie Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Bareclona defend so high up the pitch that type of striker is rendered useless, unless he can score with his head from 40 yards out? A talented centre forward would tear him to shreds. Could you imagine him trying to deal with Rooney? Henry in his pomp? Shearer? Cole and Yorke? Even Owen? Pure long-ball football wouldn't work, but intelligent runs and pulling off the shoulder of the defender would create havoc at the back for them with him starting.

Very silly post even by your standards They faced Rooney, Ronaldo, Aguero last sesaon no? Treble by any chance?
Eddie Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Benjani has signed for Portsmouth...so we have just dodged a bullet. Mascherano only started playing at centre-back in April. Had he played there for the full season then they would not have won the treble (and I don't know what treble you're talking about seeing as they lost the Copa del Rey).
67splitscreen Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Daniel Ayala signed for Norwich 800k reported. As a back up would have been OK, can't see his wages being huge.
DanLad Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Robbie Keane is delighted with his transfer. He said that always supported MSL as a kid and it is a dream come true.
Speedie Dived Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Nasri having a medical at City as we speak
Iceman Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 interesting to see Erik Husseklepp sign for Pompey. ill be keen to see how he does in the championship.
