Strong indications that Fabregas and Nasri are both leaving Arsenal.

Very concerned that this will mean Samba is going.

Samba is not in their league, who replaces Fabregas and Nasri, players who can play for the best team in the world, with Chris Samba.

Good logic

£50m which they say will be re-invested in players.

Cahill/ Jagielka if the media are to be believed - no mention of Samba today.

I share the same concerns. Arsenal may have to splash some cash after selling them two for a lot of dough, but I hope they go for Cahill, he is younger, he is english and a great talent.

Its becoming apparent that both Spurs and Arsenal are going to leave any bids for Samba right up to the last minute as per usual.

If I was at the club I’d set a deadline of this Saturday to put an acceptable bid in, or he stays with us until January at least.

Simple as that.

Lets have them dancing to our tune for a change.

If they did samba would be surplus to requirements and we all know arsenal don't waste money...

Arsenal are interested in Samba who is interested in Arsenal.

Dann, Cahill and Samba have all been mentioned and I have no idea who would be Wenger's first preference. But let's face it, if (God forebid) we were Arsenal supporters, we would all be painfully aware that that team needs TWO new central defenders in the squad.

Both Arsenal and Spurs have been fooling around in this window but the moment either of them get serious money from sales, we are going to be under pressure.

If Arsenal offer a good deal for Samba its will be difficult to turn down, he is 27.

If I was an arsenal fan I'd be a disappointed with Arsenals ambitions. I remember they went through a season undefeat and never built on that team.

Its a slow decline.

I can't see Venkys rolling over for anyone when it comes to outgoing players. I would imagine they have a figure in mind and that if Arsenal don't match that figure Samba will go nowhere. He's sat on a 5 year contract so we don't need to be bullied.

KEAN - NO OFFERS FOR SAMBA

By Martyn Ziegler, Chief Reporter, Press Association Sport

Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean insists there has not been a single offer for centre-back Chris Samba and he is keeping his fingers crossed that situation remains the same until the transfer window closes.

Tottenham and Arsenal have both been interested in the defender but with Rovers already having sold Phil Jones to Manchester United, Kean does not want to lose another centre-back.

Kean said: ``Chris is only a few months into a five-year contract. There have been rumours every single week but we have not had any bids at all, not one, and long may that continue.

``We know it's life without Phil, and if you lose somebody at the last minute it can be very difficult.

``We hope that won't happen, we hope that's the only centre-half we have lost this season and that they phone doesn't ring and that Chris is happy with us.''

Kean also said that talks over a new deal with Zimbabwe striker Benjani, who is out of contract, were ``not dead'' yet.

He added: ``We made him a contract offer that was not adequate for what he was after. There has been a little bit of movement on both sides so it's not dead yet.''

Samba is a doubt for Rovers' opening match of the season at home to Wolves with a groin strain. Ryan Nelsen is back in training but the game will come too soon for the New Zealander.

Radosav Petrovic, the Serbian midfielder signed from Partizan Belgrade, will not be available either because although he has been granted a work permit he is still waiting for his visa to come through.

I can't get my head around why so many would accept Bassong as a make weight.

61 PL appearances, 2 clean sheets and 2 goals no assists in the last three seasons.

The fact that he probably is not even wanted by us, what I mean by that is, we have been searching for weeks, Arry wants shut of half his squad to fund more bench warmers, he would surely be interested in a deal for Bassong irrespective of their alleged interest.

If the itk's are on the ball on Vital It is suggested that the CB replacement for Jones is someone from Europe who we were linked to earlier in the window, or has been mentioned on their MB as a possible.

For me leave Bassong where he is, full cash value or he stays,

why is the bald headed muppet so intent on offering benjani a new contract? for goodness sake, the guy is cr*p, just let him go, why is benjani holding rovers to ransom? tell him to sling his hook.

We simply need a warm body under 35 which has played PL games as a forward.

Spurs supporter I work with thinks that Bassong is a good CB who is still young and will only get better. Expects him to be at Samba levels in a short time and doesn't want to see him go.

Also was a regular starter for Spurs the year they finished 4th.

I sort of agree with this. We act as if Samba is irreplaceable and that is simply not true. Bassong is good. If we could get a couple of Spurs players, such as Sebastian Bassong and Danny Rose, or Bassong and Defoe, I think overall we would be stronger.

Ill give you that just, roughly 26 games or 2384min, wonder who Arry preferred for the other 12.

Dawson More than likely after returning from Injury 12 games played.

IMO if all were fit he's behind Dawson, Gallas, Kaboul and KIng in effect we are talking a third choice at best in a pairing.

They paid 8m for him 2 tears ago, think Nicko summed it up perfectly a few weeks ago when this story first broke, Harry values Samba at 4m.
