Demand Bassong, Bentley and one of Crouch/Defoe/Pavlychenko and see what they do.

We're so slow and negotiating deals that a straight cash offer is no use to us at this stage. However, three (or even two if I'm being over optimistic) proven PL players and I'd probably take it.

Bassong is a really good defender.

Do you really think we can afford the wages of these three, which will add up to significantly more than we are paying Samba I suspect?

Be better to take Bassong plus cash.

We still have gaping holes in our squad and need some PL experience to go with the youth and potential, and that's without considering injuries. That experience will cost money in wages regardless of whether they are a swap for Samba or purchased separately.

If we get cash for Samba, I can't see us being able to spend it. So I'd prefer 2 or 3 of their better, but surplus to requirement, players and bite the bullet on wages.

Although I seem to recall Bentley taking a pay cut to go to Spurs so their wages might not be as bad as some other clubs.

Uddersfelt, I think the point is that if we buy a new striker we are going to have to pay him. Doesn't make any difference if we get him from spurs or elsewhere. We need a CB and CF at the least, if we can get them both from spurs then all the better. I'd take crouch and bassong.

Agree with that, mind you I've never rated Samba as that good. No Colin Hendry that's for sure.

Still leaves us a CB short.

I'd be pleased with that tbh.

Whether Levy would allow that, or any swap deal of that nature is another matter!

IMO it should be the above or no dice, don't let Spurs take the P***!

There,s no way Spurs would give us three players for Samba unless they want them off the wage bill.

Maybe Bassong and Bentley but no more. Definitely not Kranjcar

I would like to get pavlyuchenko and bassong for Samba. Cannot see it - but if there was a cash adjustment in the deal. Having a forward and a defender for Samba would be good business.

I would like Pav but just can't see him ever coming here due to the value that Spurs will place on him. If Spurs offered Bassong and Defoe/Pav/Keane/Crouch I would take Pav everytime.

Why not ?? Jones was sold in June , today is August 13th and no replacement as appeared ,unless you count young Mr Anderson .

You maybe right , an Arsenal fan was on 606 tonight wittering on about Samba , wasn't really listening at the time ..No it was the Collymore ,phone in after the Newcastle game.

If samba goes we will finish rock bottom.

If he isn't replaced we will be challenging the likes of Sunderland and Swindon
