Exiled_Rover Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 If Samba goes, then that is it. We are relegated. I doubt any quality replacements will be in line to move in. Bearing in mind we've had all summer and only brought in Petrovic and Goodwillie, yes if Samba goes we're ######.
BRFC1995 Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 If he isn't replaced we will be challenging the likes of Sunderland and Swindon swindon had fjortoft getting the goals......we have no one getting the goals and salgado doing his level best to give them away at the other end, and you know your managers crap when you think gorman and wilkinson could probably be doing a better job here. Chris goes that automatically ends salgados career here the amount of times samba has gotten him out of jail with last ditch outstretched size 13's is untrue. if emo is now injured and nelly still out the defence looks like Bruno......givet........hanley.........ollsen for villa fingers crossed petrovic is the worlds best dm as n'zonzi to me looks like the £50,000 he is. Just when i was thinking things may get rosier this season with andrews gone and pedersen utterly surplus........get diouf back in we need all scrappers on deck now.
roverandout Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 when you put the defence like that brfc, it does look frightenly bad.
Exiled_Rover Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 If we sell him then the Venky's really are the asset strippers they were feared to be.
Hi Mack Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Roger Johnson very impressive today.....Organised the Wolves defence. Who is available for us to sign if Samba does go?
Stuart Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I seriously trust that Samba is genuinely injured at the moment. If he isn't then his lack of professionalism, resulting in Nzonzi having to cover, absolutely disgusts me. Surely no-one could be that callous?
Bobby G Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Guaranteed relegation if sold. Now if you are still wearing your blue & white tinted glasses, say otherwise.
philipl Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Have it on good authority that samba has gone to Arsenal for 12m. I have also been told that Venky's have caved in from wanting £20m for him. I do think we have seen the last of him as I am hearing relations between Samba and Kean have collapsed. As usual, the wrong man is going.
PAFELL Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Can't see us selling him unless we have a replacement lined up, damn good one at that! Sold Phil Jones and there is still no replacement. So it would not surprise me if it happened.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I have also been told that Venky's have caved in from wanting £20m for him. BuckyRover Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Bearing in mind we've had all summer and only brought in Petrovic and Goodwillie, yes if Samba goes we're ######. I agree with that statement
Amo Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Sold Phil Jones and there is still no replacement. So it would not surprise me if it happened. Except Jones had a clause in his contract, as far as we know, Samba doesn't.
Hughesy Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Roger Johnson very impressive today.....Organised the Wolves defence. Who is available for us to sign if Samba does go? Scott Dann?
Emge Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Kean should learn from Owen Coyle! Would love to hear him say things like these about Samba!
Steve Moss Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 If Samba goes, we are the in the deep stuff. Still, maybe we could do a trade with the Spurs. Samba for Harry Redknapp anyone?
roverandout Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 how about we trade steve kean for robbie keane.
TheNews Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 If Samba goes, we are the in the deep stuff. Still, maybe we could do a trade with the Spurs. Samba for Harry Redknapp anyone? If Samba goes then spuds may be our best option as I am sure we could get Bassong as part of the deal. Bassong is no mug, barcodes used to rave about him, just not had much of a chance since going to spuds

Bassong is no mug, barcodes used to rave about him, just not had much of a chance since going to spuds So was Bassong not part of the 6m +1 bid we have just rejected, if not who?
joey_big_nose Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 If Samba is definately off and Bassong is really available I would take 10m and Bassong. Use the 10m to sign a top striker and fund a central midfielder. Also go for an up and coming defender - Onuha? - to compliment Nelsen, Givet, Bassong and Hanley. ALternatively could go for a left back so Givet could play central defence full time.
McRovers Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 bassong + pavlyuchenko and dellboy can have him

Mattyblue Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I've only just noticed this, a few days old from nicko: 'Rovers are also under siege to sell injured skipper Chris Samba. The defender is training alone as Arsenal and Spurs hover, and is not 100 per cent physically or mentally.'

BRFC95 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 and is not 100 per cent physically or mentally.' He is physically fit and was on Saturday.
