forumquizmaster Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 He is physically fit and was on Saturday. If that is a fact then wtf was a central midfielder doing playing at centre half? Samba and kean should hang their heads in shame if that is true.

Hughesy Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 He is physically fit and was on Saturday. Never in this world…..sorry but mentally all there or not, he would have played on Saturday if fit.
67splitscreen Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 @amarjourno amar singh Blackburn Rovers slap £16m price tag on #Arsenal and #Tottenham target Chris Samba goal.com/en-gb/news/289… Is this the guy who did the media coverage in India, wonder if the Raos are using him to get the fee we want out there, maybe Samba's head was in fact elsewhere after the spuds bid.
rog of the rovers Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 £16m fair price for an experienced centre half entering his prime. Especially if Cahill and Jagielka are £20m+
67splitscreen Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Interesting that Nicko has just said no bids have been received. Also noway spuds would pay that amount 16m for any defender. Long may it continue.
philipl Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Disappointed to see the asking price drop to £16m if true. Big question is whether the people now handling this for Rovers hve the necessary knowledge, experience and licence.

Long may it continue. They paid £8m (2007) then £10m (2010) for Kaboul, so if it involved a player such as Bassong (who cost spuds £8m) then they just might

rogerjonesgloves Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 He is physically fit and was on Saturday. evidence?
Hughesy Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Just a heads up No Samba, Diouf or Nelsen at awards, think they are the only ones not here (from what I've seen). Even Grella is in the building without crutches.

Backroom Tom Posted August 16, 2011 Backroom Posted August 16, 2011 Djourou off with a hamstring injury for Arsenal, their need for a CB grows but I imagine Cahill will be the target
Hughesy Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Nelsens little lad had broke his arm, Samba's missus wasn't well - no mention of Diouf. Also forgot to add Givet wasn't there due to his bug at weekend.
waggy Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 if samba leaves we need to do a swap deal as the slumdogmillionaires will just bank the cash cerchink$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

AggyBlue Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Samba's missus wasn't well I've used 'My missus isn't well' too
LeChuck Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Nelsens little lad had broke his arm, Samba's missus wasn't well - no mention of Diouf. Also forgot to add Givet wasn't there due to his bug at weekend. Not sure what that post is for...are they the reasons Nelsen and Samba didn't play?
BuckyRover Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Not sure what that post is for...are they the reasons Nelsen and Samba didn't play? I think it's connected to the post just above, reasons why they weren't at the awards
LeChuck Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Ah! Phew. That'll teach me not to read the whole thread.
ben_the_beast Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Rather tedious links here but Guillem Balague tweeting Chelsea have agreed a 28m euro deal to bring in Juan Manuel Mata from Valencia. Surely that would out to bed their interest in Modric and not provide Spurs with the funds to come in for Samba. Edit: Just read he also mentioned Modric is still wanted (rendering this post rather pointless.)
Stuart Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Physioroom reporting that both Samba and Nelsen are both due back today but rated as "slightly doubtful" (whatever that means) It'll be interesting to see if our captain steps up. No show today and I reckon he's off. Cue Kean coming out sayimg he's failed a late fitness test...

Edit: Just read he also mentioned Modric is still wanted (rendering this post rather pointless.) Not sure spuds need to sell to buy, they made about £40m from CL last season and not really spent much yet. They have also sold O'Hara for £5m and Keane for £3m. But Levy likes to balance the books and wages are their problem, mind they have offloaded a fair bit already in wages, the 2 above and add Woodgate who was released probably adds up to about £140k a week. Deals they are working on is Adeybayor is loan deal that will cost them a £2m fee plus half of his wages believed to be (£85k). Diarra Transfer fee £9m (seems cheap for player of his qualities) and wages of around £80k. Add to that wages for Friedel £30k meaning their expenditure so far is net £3m on transfers and Loan fees and probably £55k a week on wages. They will sell Palacios, Hutton, Bentley and Crouch or Pavlyuchenko probably bring in a further £30m in transfer fees and saving about £180k - £200k in wages. So any thoughts of them not having money is well wide of the mark, they will be very active in the next 12 days, I expect in addition to the 2 players above they will add 2 or 3 others, certainly a CB, probably a RW and maybe another striker.
