Emge Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Also, the difference about trying to buy Samba, instead of Cahill and Jagielka, if they bid for Samba they wont really face any proper negotioation as we are The headless chicken circus. We're probably the easiest target!

pick32 Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 If they are that desperate tell em the price is 18million if they match it fine we just buy dann and onuoha oh no wait that would mean having to use common sense.
roverandout Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 how can you be sure, hughsey? i think samba would be getting sick of all these broken promises from the owners and playing alongside inferior players, im amazed city have never moved for him, he would look perfect alongside kompany, thats the one position, i think city are still short on, arsenal need a proper defender now, not a fancy dan like cahill, someone who will clear the ball at all cost, still think arsenal will make a move for him.

philipl Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Samba will not leave Thankfully I think you are right at 22.52 on the 28th. But humongous defeats do odd things to clubs as we know to our cost at Rovers from last December. So we are not completely out of the danger zone on Samba nor on two other key Rovers players we are not speculating much about being at risk. But right now it is looking pretty hopeful we will see no more departures. Unfortunately incomings are looking as empty as well.
roverandout Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 who could blame samba if he wanted to leave this shambles.

Le'Arse have really really really just worked out that they need a big ugly giant at the back ... with leadership qualities ... nothing fancy. I hate 8-2 at the 11th hour of a transfer window. I hate Arsene. I hate Arsenal.
Fylde Coast Fan Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I think Samba's fallen down Arsenal's priority list behind at least Cahill and Jagielka, more fool them. Not sure about Spurs - they might try a lowball bid on deadline day, that's their usual trick. The worry is that we need to sell Samba to bring anyone in.

Also Arsenal being linked to Alex at Chelsea.
bluebruce Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Arsenal also intrested in colloccini. Hahahahaha! Awful defender. Arsenal also intrested in colloccini. Hahahahaha! Awful defender.
chris Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Its good nobody has put a bid in for Samba yet, I know if I was Samba I would leave in a second, but if nobody bids with a realistic fee, then too bad for Samba, stuck here.
Fylde Coast Fan Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Daily Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/arsenal/8730712/Arsenal-revive-interest-in-Blackburn-Rovers-centre-back-Christopher-Samba.html They hope a bid is accepted today and that they can get him for £7m? Taking the Michael.
Lurid Coat Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 http://www.teamtalk.com/news/1542/7138508/Gunners-in-Mertesacker-talks Reel him in, Arsene!
Fylde Coast Fan Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Think they'll be signing two centre halves but they've also had a second bid rejected for Cahill according to some people. Hopefully they're successful with a third, sign the glacial Mertesacker and Big Chris stays put.
Brfcrule1 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 if they think 7M will bag Samba they are living in cloud cuckoo land 18M should be the bare minimum I totally hate t**** a*** wenger makes my blood boil.
roverandout Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 its come from a good paper, so there has to be an element of truth in it, that being said, 7 million is way below what hes worth, though, player power being what it is now, if samba kicks up enough of a fuss then rovers might have no other option than to take a knocked down offer, otherwise, we are left with an unhappy player who will unsettle what is already an unhappy club.
BRFCfor83 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 If we sell samba and bring in shiteus shambles then things really have become desperate!!!!
Fylde Coast Fan Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 It looks like speculative tripe to me. Wouldn't be surprised if Arsenal were arrogant enough to think they could get him for £7m, or if we'd asked about Bramble (since we've probably asked about everyone else), but I can't see it happening now.

I particularly agree with the final sentiment expressed above and commend it to the Meeting! If Phil Jones had a clause in his contract allowing him to talk to any club offering above [was it?] £16m, surely Samba's contract will have a similar clause, only specifying a [hopefully] much higher figure. Won't it?

Won't it? No - Nicko, Kean and several other sources have already said no clause. He aint going anywhere
Kenwoo Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 If we let him go at the final hour with no replacement lined up then that will be the cherry on top of what has been a disastrous summer.
