If we let him go at the final hour with no replacement lined up then that will be the cherry on top of what has been a disastrous summer.

If he goes and if we keep Kean for much longer(possibly even if we don't) we are going down for sure.

:rover: whoever is in charge at ewood needs to take samba to one side and tell him a few home truths.he has made noises about leaving in the last 2 tranfer windows, has anyone come in for him NO,so its about time he buckles down and stop throwing his toys out of the pram every tranfer window.CHRIS BLACKBURN ROVERS IS YOUR LEVEL,YOUR A GREAT PLAYER COYB :brfcsmilie::rolleyes:

We've just bought Dann for 6, so 4 wouldn't buy Samba's left peg.

Hope he gets his head down now that all the distractions are over.

Samba will not leave

Thankfully I think you are right at 22.52 on the 28th.

But humongous defeats do odd things to clubs as we know to our cost at Rovers from last December. So we are not completely out of the danger zone on Samba nor on two other key Rovers players we are not speculating much about being at risk.

But right now it is looking pretty hopeful we will see no more departures. Unfortunately incomings are looking as empty as well.

And as expected im right at 9.09 on the 1st Sept.

What happened to no incomings too??

Unless we are going to have 5 or 6 months more of speculation as to Samba's non-transfer to Arsenal/Spurs on the expectation it's bound to happen in January perhaps it's time to close this thread and focus on Samba the player in the main messageboard instead?

If this does happen, here's my three favourite posts in the thread:

Hughesy proves he can call a situation right for once...

Samba will not leave

Waggy probably hits it spot on with his assessment...

:rover: if SAMBA wants to leave, let him go,the same with any player, but if no bids are made,he has to stay.every window SAMBA seems to want to leave, but no bids are made.SAMBA you ain,t that good and BLACKBURN ROVERS is your level.forget moving and get on with your game son. :brfcsmilie::rolleyes:

And for completeness sake, here's philipl's "understanding that" contribution...

I have also been told that Venky's have caved in from wanting £20m for him. I do think we have seen the last of him as I am hearing relations between Samba and Kean have collapsed.

As usual, the wrong man is going.

just a huge shame that the window was a massive let down.

for all the promises of more budget, we've done exactly what we did under the trust. reinvested PART of the money from player sales.

How does that work?

We've spent £14m and received £18m.

£16.5m of that, received from Jones, was spent on the bank overdraft.

er - they have used transfer funds to pay off debts - just like the trust used too.

when steve kean said we had the biggest transfer budget ever, it was rubbish. we have a surplus spend.

compare us with stoke, who bought 3 players for big money and you can see the huge difference.

If they've paid off debts with the money from Jones, then surely they invested their own cash for the transfers?

The Trust wouldn't make their own cash available. Which is why we ended up with just Benjani last season.

Just goes to show that your owner doesn't need to be minted (billionaire) with the right manager!.

Was he not worth something in the region of 400m when he bought them.

Circa -20m this window can't see that being repeated though for a while, big push this season from what was a strong position at the end of last season player wise.

And Stoke qualified for Europe don't forget. They have a few coppers spare.

The Europa League (or whatever it's called these days) is actually a drain on the finances of teams, unlike the Champs League.
