rovers11 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 It does make you wonder about QPR. Are they just gonna spend the window chasing unrealistic players and putting stupidly low bids in and end up with dross. Looking very similar to what we did last year with our 'bids' for Ronaldinho and Beckham.

Ricky Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Just go back and tell them that's his left foot covered, the right foot is an extra £10m.
koi Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Well if he goes for £5m then we know that the club is in very serious trouble.
Hughesy Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Tell QPR if they want Samba for £5m we will swap them for their entire squad. Muppets!! No doubt Warnock will be on the news next week saying how its frustrating because teams are asking for unrealistic amounts. Im sorry but Samba for £5m? Do me a favour!
Makey11 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 think what andy carroll offers a team with his price, then think samba offers a team. How can they seriously offer £5m!
Mattyblue Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 It is obviously doing the rounds of the football industry that we are cash strapped, we sell Samba for less than £10million to the likes of QPR, then get that white flag out.
Hughesy Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 It is obviously doing the rounds of the football industry that we are cash strapped Funny that - surely we would just sell Samba if thats the case?
Mattyblue Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Funny that - surely we would just sell Samba if thats the case? We'll know by then end of the month.
Jock Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Harry's probably put Warnock upto it so he can come in a little bit higher. Cant stand that wobble chops.
chris Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 think what andy carroll offers a team with his price, then think samba offers a team. How can they seriously offer £5m! think what Yakubu offers a team with his price. Can't compare everyone to Carroll, that was a joke. Still £5 mill is laughable If I was Samba I would want out right away, I'd beg.
Stuart Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I'm already hating this January more than the last 3 put together.
Muddboy Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Interesting development. Rovers just put a story up on the official site saying: "Blackburn Rovers FC can confirm that further to media speculation today, team captain Chris Samba is not for sale." Let's hope it's the truth.
roverandout Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 yes rovers can say 'hes not for sale' but that doesnt mean squat, they are proven liars, when they say something its usually the oposite so prepare for samba to be sold, besides i think he will want out anyway and spurs will come in with a substantially higher offer, we all know harry is a big admirer and theres no way samba will turn down the chance to join a team fighting for the title!!!
all you need is duff Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Harry's probably put Warnock upto it so he can come in a little bit higher. Cant stand that wobble chops. My mate who is a QPR fan reckons it is so that Spurs get a move on in their pursuit and then sell Bassong to QPR.
Stuart Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 My mate who is a QPR fan reckons it is so that Spurs get a move on in their pursuit and then sell Bassong to QPR. If that was that case I'd suggest, as we are going to lose Samba anyway, insist on a cash + Bassong deal from Spurs - just to stick it up Warnock. Sadly I get the impression it will be cash sales only, and we won't get much to spend. Again.
Boltinho Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 don't play today. is it a sign that he is getting sold to spurs? or just rest?
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 don't play today. is it a sign that he is getting sold to spurs? or just rest? Mm, hard one to call. Could be getting sold, could be we don't want to risk him getting injured/suspended in a what is probably a meaningless game.
imy9 Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 In my humble opinion anything over 12 million and we should sell Samba. Givet is as good a defender and if that money allows us to sign 4-5 solid pl players than I am for the sale. Even with him in the side we have shipped goals, we are weak in a number of areas, this needs to be addressed. If the owners had plans to invest in Rovers I would say keep him and buy 4-5 players but that is not going to happen is it

Problems are a) I've no faith that we'll see any of the money. We've nobody at the club capable of making intelligent signings.
PAFELL Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 I suppose if somebody came in with a very high offer, rovers would accept it. Maybe they are hoping that would happen. Making him cup tied would not help in encouraging such an offer. Who knows, maybe eve samba asked not to play today due to cup tied issues. The reality is that one day samba will be gone from rovers. The club need cover for him anyway. About time others stepped up to the plate - we should not be reliant on one player, as we are now.

And we are bottom of the league, not necessarily that attractive an option
bluebruce Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Did someone actually just say that givet is as good as samba? He's nowhere near.
John Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Kean said post match that we have no plans to sell Samba and he is a big part in 'what we are trying to do'. What are we trying to do?
