Spurs are offering players in exchange but these players are on big wages, with Rovers trying to reduce the wage bill, only a cash offer will be acceptable. But agree they will need to offer a lot more than £10 million regardless of what the bank says.

Which other players have been offered as exchange?

Ledley King is like football's equivelent of a benefit scrounger. I can imagine an old King and Hargreaves laying on a tropical beach somewhere is a few decades time laughing about how they earnt so much money from sitting on a bench for most of the careers.

Which other players have been offered as exchange?

Or better, which players have they offered and are willing to leave CL place contenders to play for a team heading for the fizzy-pop league?

Kranjcar would be an amazing player to get hold of but like people have said i cannot see how we would afford his wages. Although, if roberts and salgado were to be shifted?

I'm pretty sure hughes will come in for him at some point.

hughes to be handed a £30 million warchest, goodbye samba!!

If he is prepared to move to QPR then we are well shut of him. I'm sure Crouch would be pleased to face him next season as he's guaranteed goals on his bi-annual pulling down of Samba's shorts

It would be pretty depressing if Samba left for QPR and Junior left for Bolton.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2084544/Mark-Hughes-join-QPR-today.html

Hughes makes Samba a key target, hoping his relationship with the big man can land him.

I laughed off the QPR bid at first, but if they come calling, and show Samba how ambitious they are and what direction they are going in, with transfer targets etc, i think he will be off.

In anycase if QPR get serious, Spurs might step in, meaning he will be off regardless.

Samba will fancy it with Hughes in charge and money to spend. What will save us I think is I doubt Hughes will want to spend half his budget on a centreback when QPR need strikers desperately.

I think we should hold onto him unless Spurs decide to spend 12m+

I suspect that Samba will go soon as there doesn't appear to be significant interest in Hoilett at this stage - the only other player who would generate a good chunk of cash to divide between Barclays and Steve's Transfer and Taxi Fund.

Clearly Venkys will be needing to finalise any sale of Samba well before the end of the window before other clubs drop their offers for players in inverse proportion to Venkys increasing desparation to generate something, anything, to keep the bank at bay and salaries paid without having to dip into their own funds. God forbid.

So I could see any offer above £7m-ish being seriously considered and probably accepted just in order to ensure some cash comes in.

We may end up with a disinterested Hoilett seeing out his contract for the remainder of the season and an irreplacable Samba- the one player coming into the transfer window I felt we really couldnt afford to lose- flogged off to keep the show on the road. A scenario like that would surely lead to other senior players handing in their transfer requests (as suggested might be about to occur).

All conjecture, I'm sure everything will actually be just fine.... if only we would stop being so mean to Myles and Steve-O.

Ancelotti wants some Samba magic with PSG after Blackburn's in-demand captain

Turkish side Galatasray are willing to pay a massive £6.5m for Yakubu but Blackburn believe selling their top scorer would be a clear sign that they are ready to accept relegation and send out the wrong signal to their already frustrated supporters.

Re. Samba to QPR

its just suicide if we end up selling to relegation rivals :angry2:

I reckon it would take about 14 million pounds for the owners to sell.

With decent owners in 'normal' times I would agree with you, Chaddy. Samba is certainly worth at least that in my book. But I think Venkys are quite possibly under signficant pressure to generate income and to begin making payments to Barclays. If they judge themselves unlikely to bring in cash from sales of other players they will not be in a strong position to negotiate on Samba. The only way I can see price going over £10m is if PSG and/or others flexing their financial muscle to secure a quick purchase.
