If it was pre-Venky's I'd be furious with Samba's comments, but you can't really blame him now.

From reading his quotes, seems like his preferred destination is PSG. As everyone has said, fair play to the guy. Given us great service, great player and a great bloke. The clubs a mess and he deserves better than us at the moment. No hard feelings from me.

Don't blame Samba for coming out with these comments, it seems there were promises made last season which have not been kept. As others have said last season I would've been fuming with him but don't blame him in light of what has happened this year. I can't question his commitment, whenever he has been totally committed to the cause whenever he has played this season and been our best performer.

Agree with him, good luck Big Chris.

On the fee - not sure if I want us to get value.

If we don't it might mean administration this season, - which I am starting to think is the only solution to our problems. If Venkys stay in charge we will drop multiple divisions. If we take the bullet now at least we can start rebuilding with new owners (assuming anyone would want us).

Samba goes and we go down im afraid....he's massive for us!

I rate Samba and he will be missed, but will this make that much difference? We've been leaking like a sieve all season.

The ships going down and we need everyone on deck helping bail us out. Especially our key performer.

I can certainly question his commitment now that he has (once again) used the Press to alert all to his want-away

status.

He's getting paid a fortune at Rovers so it's time for the last stand, try and avoid relegation and then get his move in the summer.

Even he must realize that if we go down it may be the end for Rovers. Maybe he doesn't care whether we stay up or not but he would realize that we have a better chance with him, than without him.

It won't make much difference imo. With so many problems off and on the pitch, we can't possibly stay up anyway. In any other season, I would have said we have a great chance of staying up with only 3 points off safety and some talented players in our squad. However, this season has just been a mess and seems things are gonna get worse before they get better.

True - hard to judge with no midfield. Sell him and bring in 2 midfielders and it could have a positive impact on results, who knows.

Keep him & stick Samba in the midfield?!? Givet & Dann at centre back....anythings worth a try

Can't help but feel Samba has done a huge favour to the fans as well by coming out with these comments. Shows that us fans are not 'trouble makers' by wanting Venkys out, it is because they are useless. When your captain comes out and basically says the owners are rubbish, it carries a lot of weight. Thanks, Big Chris.

Completely agree. No blame for him getting out now. Such a shame. Samba leaving = certain relegation for me.

I still think £7m would probably get him due to the current situation. However, like one or two others have said, genuine PSG interest might mean a higher price. But I'm not sure it really matters too much to be honest.

Whatever happens chris samba will be playing in a top league next year whether with rovers or someone else, just hope he can stay and fight for the cause til the end of the season

I afree with Hughsey - sell samba and we throw any chance of survival. I know we have been leaking goals but its his threat up forward. people have been scoring because of his knock downs or his work off the ball attracting defenders.

But sums it up when he is questioning the direction of the club and so is hoilett..what a mess.

WE REALLY DONT DESERVE THIS! - Regardless of what the media want people to think.

But we all know it will only be us who care and it will be us who pick up the pieces when/if we get relegated.

Breaking news:

Chris Samba is looking to quit Blackburn, with the defender of the opinion that 'it is time for a change'. Full story to follow on site shortly.

I am guessing it will just be a rehash of the above posted interview he has given.

Hughesy - hate to say this but very much doubt if bank will let us have a penny of Samba fee. I think the game's up !

Because of the midfield, it provides no protection whatsoever. I feel for Robbo/Bunn and the back four, it's difficult to withstand all that pressure during a game.

Samba will be missed as it's very likely that with our limited budget we will not find a replacement as good - remember he also chips in with around 4 goals per season. You can't blame him for leaving and wanting a new challenge, the club is only going in one direction and that's downhill.

If PSG can stump up £8-10m (and he is open to going there) we should take it, I would rather see us sell him to PSG instead of Spurs or QPR.

I bet Samba money would only allow bringing Johnson in. The rest goes straight for the bank. Somehow I think Johnson could do the job but striker isn´t our biggest need. We really need CM who could tackle. So the idiot Kean probably buys Johnson and plays 4-5-1 formation still.

I'd prefer him to leave (something I've been resigned to for two years) this summer given our position and his obvious qualities, though if our hand is forced it could yet be a blessing. It all depends on how the money generated from the sale will be used, and how that benefits the first team as a whole. That is the case for every transfer, of course.

Who can blame him for wanting out, he signed a new contract on the understanding the club was gong places, simply he's been lied to just as we have.

Great servant to the club, just another example of thick owners telling lies :angry2:

Agreed. The lies must be tough to swallow after you have given 100% each week. I thank Chris Samba and wish him well wherever he goes (preferably PSG then he doesn't come back to Ewood and score against us!)

So he hasnt wanted out for the past 2 years?

And the new contract he signed had nothing to do with the MASSIVE wage rise he got from it? Dont be so naive. Yes Venkys are making a big mess of things, but he certainly isnt squeeky clean when it comes to wanting to move on!

What about when we play them in the Champions League <_<
