Good luck to the lad. He's not a Blackburn fan and he's given more than his fair share to the club. He's wanted to move on to bigger and better things for a while - I can't say I blame him.

Accept his transfer request but demand at least £12m. I think then that the queue will disappear for his services! Rovers will have done right with Samba and he will know the extent of the interest in him.

All well and good Chris but then he shouldn't have signed a 5 year deal less than a year ago should he.

Ricky - you have to have some sympathy. If your employer told you wonderful things and then failed to deliver, how would you feel and what would you do ?

Don't Premiership clubs buy player's houses under the relocaion deal when they transfer like many other employers? That would release the loan money if it has been used to extend his property. Also, £60000 a week will take away the pain if Samba has to take a hit on his house price. Seems like a red herring.

Is that not a breach of FA/Premier League rules about uncontracted bonuses? Could this not get us in more trouble?

Nah, it was just a loan so he could build an extension on his house. You'll be struggling to get that done or get a loan from the bank when you're only on £240k a month.

Nothing to see here...

Does the bloke not earn enough without having to ask for a bloody loan for a house extension. Where does he live, Buckingham Palace?

Sums up the madness of the modern day footballer.

Get rid...sick of his playing up EVERY transfer window. Time to let him go but ONLY at a price acceptable to us.

Bet it was interest free though. Thats where the problem/breach of the rules will lie.

Samba has previous for it though, no sympathy from me, not that he needs it on his £60k a week deal.

Sorry, I was being sarcastic. Even then though, just to save on the interest?!? What's he having built, a conservatory? Extra bedroom? A fifth wing?

It wasn't building work at all was it? Perhaps a new contract signing on bonus that didn't go through the correct "channels"? The sort of thing a bunch of clueless rank amateurs would try and do?

Didn't someone else mention money to Samba that didn't go through the books a couple of days ago?

Might have previous but these are very different circumstances. Walker Trust didn't promise the world !!!

HMRC will be VERY interested even if a concessionary loan.

Type of thing that KPMG should have verified in their audit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mental isn't it? How the hell can any individual not be able to save a few weeks wages up when they are on almost a quarter of a million a month! The guy makes me sick and the way he conducts himself during transfer windows is appalling and disrespectful. Thanks for not giving a flying fook about us at the weekend Chris, true colours well and truly shown.

Dirty tricks campaign? Someone did say that not all of his wage is paid by the club, but never called it a loan. Got to be more to this.

is it all starting to unravel? We'll probably claw ourselves clear of the relegation zone before being hit with a points deduction!!

Really.... :o Samba gets more than £60k a week? Well I never!

Dont worry it wont affect the club, nothing dodgy going on here, he only earns £60k

Loan for extension? I know he likes to gamble and was once spotted in a casino with the one and only balottelli . Maybe its cover up for a gambling addiction.

That was a thought I had, that it was a gambling problem.

I can't see any problem with an employer giving an employee an advance on wages though. Happens all the time across all industries.

I have no doubt that playing for Rovers at the moment is deeply frustrating and has not the bed of roses promised. However, he gets paid £60,000 a week, he is our captain and we are in the middle of a relegation battle. To call in 'sick' on Friday, miss the game on Saturday and then hand a transfer request in on Monday is a disgraceful way to behave and is slap in the face to the club, it's supporters and cannot be excused, no matter how poorly the club is being run.

I too am sick of how every transfer window Samba announces that he wants to move to a bigger club. HE signed a new long term contract last season. If he wants to leave, it should be in the summer after he's helped us ensure Premiership survival. The club should stand firm on this one. We hold all the cards here and if he ends up being sold it SHOULD NOT be to a relegation revival like QPR, but more like PSG, for a fee of £15 million. If a team wants him now, well they well have to pay over the odds for him.

Doesn't come as any real surprise to be honest, made it quite clear he's wanted to move on for a while now and it's a bit of shock to me that we managed to keep hold of a top quality player for so long given the current state of the club. He has given us a good 5 years service and I wouldn't begrude him a move to a bigger club to try and further his career at this point. As to go down as one great signing for £450,000, well and truely got our money worth there. Should be looking to get around the £10million+ mark for him in my opinion.

Agree hardly a surprise as he has been wanting out for a while and our mismanagement from top to bottom has likely triggered his desire to leave/transfer request.
