Of course. Though, Samba has never failed to continue performing after wanting to leave for the past three windows...

Yet nobody has come in for him and he's signed a contract.

He negates his previous good behaviour when signing that contract in my eyes, especially when he was in a position to arrange some form of easy get out clause which would suit all parties. Looks like he just saw the money if you ask me and now he presumes he can just throw his toys out of the pram to move away. That's with or without the Sun story.

He signed a contract last year. Thats where the problem is. We were fighting a relegation battle back then and he signed. He knew that there was a reasonable chance that we'd be here 12 months down the line so to try and demand a transfer now by citing his 'ambition' to play for a bigger club, well that's tough. He signed the contract whilst Venkys were in charge and Kean was manager. That is his fault. No sympathy from me. In different circumstances I'd feel sorry for the bloke but he should have seen this scenario coming 12 months ago.

In all honesty I didnt envisage us being in a relegation battle this season?

Venkys showed ambition (nievity) straight away going for Ronaldinho and Beckham, they loaned in RSC (which I was happy with at the time as he was good for us in the past but unfortunately couldnt find that form again) and JJ who was excellent. They also bought a Barcelona youth product in Rochina and Formica, both young players with a lot of potential. They secured the likes of Samba, Nelsen etc with longer contracts.

When we survived the drop last season I GENUINELY thought we would spend crazy money in the summer and never be in this position again. Even with Kean at the helm if he had 20 million pound strikers we would be mid table at least. I think Samba felt the same. Yes we have both been proven wrong and we are even worse than we were last season but I seriously doubt Samba signed up for this!!!

Those of you who think Samba is a mercenary and signed for us purely for the money (estimated at 60k a week?), do you not think Samba would have earnt a lot more running his contract down then signing for a club on a free and picking up higher wages (paying no transfer fee often inflates the wage) and a big signing on bonus? I think Samba thought we would be going in the right direction this season.

That doesnt reflect well at all on Andersons bitch Steve Kean and Venkys in their ability to manage Blackburn Rovers football club and their employees.

It reflects a whole lot worse on Christopher samba if you ask me, £60k a week and can't give 100%? Despicable

Not when he thought he could have his cake and eat it.

And you are as naive as Venky's themselves. I was aware of the possibility that we could well be playing for top half football this season, and it was a genuine possibility in my eyes. If you'd have asked me which way it would go I would have leant much closer to that than a relegation battle. The fact of the matter is first and foremost survival has always been first aim. Even when we were going for Europe. It takes one bad season and you can go down, even if people think you don't deserve to. Your West Ham and Newcastle's going down (deservedly in my eyes of course) should give enough warning to people that it isn't always just a case of spending the money. If it was we wouldn't have reached Europe on our budget.

Is this bit serious? I mean did you really not see another relegation battle coming?

So the clubs highest paid player wants us to just give him away .We took him from relative obscurity paid him handsomely and gave him recognition virtually worldwide and we are the ones being unreasonable for asking him simply to do what he is paid for.Let him sulk, I say. It actually wouldn`t be as bad if it was Spurs or Arsenal but QPR. .....FFS some people just don`t know they`re born.

And for the record, I shan't be booing him if he plays again. Nor shall I be cheering him. I'll be hoping he gives 100% though.

If people don't boo him it will be hilarious, when you look at who they have booed in the past.

I wouldn't advocate it though.

He has earned a transfer from Rovers. If somebody comes up with the money we shouldn't hold him back as he's been incredible for us.

He obviously hasn't done enough in other peoples eyes though.

Therein lies the problem. It's not our fault. Isn't he embarrassed nobody is offering more than the amounts reported?

I can understand, I wouldn't want to play for Kean either.

It was inevitable we would come to a situation like this at some point; he’s wanted a move for the past three windows. He may have decided in previous windows to suppress his disappointment and play on but you get the feeling with the transfer request going in its different this time.

I think it's best for both parties that we sell and move on, with player power being so strong these days keeping an unhappy player will do more harm than good. Of course you can kiss goodbye to getting £12m+ for him. Clubs will offer a lot lower than that to do us a favour and 'take an unhappy player off our hands'.

If anyone needs the link.. Not the divorce "headline" is it?

To be honest I like the interview. Chris HAS put his body on the line for the club, they made him a load of promises and didn't fulfil them. He has every right to leave for that fact and it is another reason to be disgusted with the ownership of the club and the manner of which they go about their business. Fair enough, some people will be disgusted by his comments, citing wages as a general reason why he should shut up and play football.

Surely now, the pundits won't be able to stick the boot into the fans if the club captain is sayings such as

"I want to go to a club with ambitions like mine, which wants to go forward. Blackburn aren't going forward at all. If anything we are worse off than a year ago."

He is openly criticising Venkys and also states it is "personal between him and the owners". I want to see more truth like this in the public domain.

He has done this for the past few windows. He is just using the broken promise as an excuse, and to be honest it is the sun so it probably isnt that reliable.

\football is a big money business he has signed a contract he will be sold for the amount the owners feel is acceptable not him.

If he has a problem with the lack of quality incomings then take it up with them and please report back to us.

Venkys and chris are seperate issues he is trying to just get more leverage to try and sulk his way for a move on the cheap.

In all honesty yes. Im an idiot fo taking people at their word. Kean spent all summer banging on about our sizeable budget which meant we could compete with the big boys, he didnt want to say a number but once it was all spent the fans would be impressed etc and hes right we SPENT close to 20 mil right? What he didnt mention is we would sell Phil Jones and Kalinic for more than that!!!!!!! So our squad value actually decreased!!!

All summer long we were linked with vucevic and Adebayor etc and the papers were as dumb as I was to believe it too.

Now Im fully aware we are back to the spend what you make days of the trust but a worse manager than Big Sam and Hughes all I can ever see is relegation battles and/or relegation.

But during the summer I was proud as a pecock thinking we were gonna be a poor mans man city.

We are just poor

I LOVE this honesty and pretty much backs up what we have been saying. Venkys promised to spend and make Rovers a club that can compete and they simply havent. Its not Keans fault, hes not spending 10s of millions on duds. Venkys have lied to Chris and we ARE worse off than last season. We could have kept the trust and sold Phil Jones and given that money to Big Sam who would have done ok with it and wed be anywhere between 9th and 15th now.

I would say to Chris, we rate you very highly, your our captain but we cant be held to ransom we rate you at x amount (in my head 14 mil) and if we dont get offered that amount we literally cant afford to sell you, sorry. If clubs are only offering up to 7 mil I suggest you play your heart out for the remainder of this season and I will sign a contract that says we WILL sell you to any club for that agreed amount. Its on you now to make yourself that desirable to the big clubs Chris.

The best bit....

Samba believes Venky's have been greedy by previously demanding £15million for his services when interest came in from the likes of Arsenal.

He insisted: "I'm not a £15m player. Blackburn only signed me for £400,000 from Hertha Berlin and if they get £7m now then that's very good business.

"It's very difficult for me to focus on football with what's going on.

"They have to consider how I feel and that it makes good business sense for them to arrange a transfer.

"I've got nothing against the manager. It's not like he's been given £100m to spend, he's trying to do the best he can with what he has.

"This is between me and the owners. It's personal.

Sorry big Chris but £7m is nothing for an experienced premier league centre half who has a good 7-8 years left at the top. £15m, not a penny less!
