He signed a fat contract because he made the mistake of believing Venky.s Now he can see their "ambition" is nothing more than spin and lies he wants to go. He deserves to.

Well, we will have to agree to disagree. For me he joins the ranks of other good players who treated our club poorly. Like Graeme Le Saux, Tim Sherwood, Lucas Neill and others he can sling his hook.

As far as I am concerned he exemplifies all that is wrong with the modern footballer and if the move he 'deserves' is Tottenham then I agree with you.

Another despicable individual.

Really p!ssed with Samba's comments. But he's missing one key detail.

Until this point, there's only been one club in for him. And they (QPR) have only offered something in the region of £4m upfront and a further £3m later on.

That's way below the price that our stupid chicken-plucking owners have put on his head and that's why they issued two 'hands off' statements.

I have no doubt that if someone came in and offered the £12-£15m that they're rightfully looking for, they'd let him go.

The bottom line is that nobody has done this.

Yes, he's disappointed with all the broken promises but he's no different to anyone else.

Going to be interesting to see what transpires.

Gav, I dont reckon you believe that Samba is doing this in order to have the finger of blame pointed in the right direction. You know as well as I do that he is doing this for himself as he has been doing every window for the last two or three years. Fair enough, I know he's a professional but even so he has consistantly demonstrated zero integrity.

He signed a fat contract when it suited and now he is using our plight to engineer his way out.

Under normal circumstances I'd agree, he does have form dgs, but for me its just another example of venkys telling lies, lies and more lies and this is the outcome. Samba could have left last time around, his worth was probably more than it is now, but instead he signed a new contract on the understanding the club was going places, that was bulls**t from the owners as we all know.

Don't blmae him one bit on this occassion.

I agree with most of Samba's comments tbh, HOWEVER, he can't dictate the fee being asked for him. If you sign a 5 year contract you're going to be highly priced, if this was really about Venky's promises then Samba would have signed a much shorter contract with a get out clause.

Clear this one up, no his agent was at this before Kean came along.

This could go on and on but clearly the agent was acting on behalf of and with the collusion of his/her client. Samba as well as being an excellent Centre Half has also been a pain in the arse.

As I said we'll have to agree to disagree.

anyone slating samba and not wanting him to play for us again is falling for his trap. the comments about not giving 100% are purely to force through a move.

he cannot be allowed to leave for qpr. worst case scenario he must be made to sit in the reserves.

I'm sorry but I can't defend or feel sorry for Samba in the slightest, he has put the club in a terrible position. He now has said he won't try if selected for the team which makes him unselectable people say let him rot in the reserves, we simply cannot afford for him to stay in the reserves. The player even now has the nerve to talk about we are asking too much for him, a fair price is £12m and whether he wants to strike or not we shouldn't budge on that. Lied to or not the chips are down and we need everybody pulling in the same direct, Samba could have kept this rant indoors but he hasn't, extremely unprofessional.

Samba has been trying to get a move for a long time, before our new owners.

I can understand why he may want to go but no player should be able to dictate what is a fair price for him. If he believes he is good enough to go a bigger club that also means his transfer fee should be substantial. Put it this way Spurs wouldnt accept such a low valuatio for any of THEIR players would they? £7m is a joke - he wouldnt accept lower wages would he? The club has a right to block any move to a club we are fighting relegation with.

Sorry under no circumstances should he move to a club we are fighting relegation with - certainly not until summer. In those circumstance I would rather leave him in the reserves than let him strengthen anyone. I would tell him that.

Yeah, the fee comment is the only problem I have with that article. If he's signed a contract worth £60k a week then he has to accept he's worth more than £7 million to the club. However, I think £15 million is far too much, somewhere around £10 million is fair.

The rest is spot on to be honest. He's brought the issue of failed promises and lack of communication from Venky's into the open, probably the only person from within the club to do so.

"I signed a new deal last January right at the end of the transfer window because Venky's told me they had big plans. Names like Ronaldinho were mentioned and they promised there was going to be a lot of investment in the team. It hasn't happened and I've decided I can't stay anymore."

"I told them last week in a conference call how I felt and that I wanted to go and they just said 'no'. It's very difficult dealing with people who you never see and are always away from the club."

Isn't this the sort of stuff that the protesting has aimed to get into the media? He is 100% right in my opinion, and I don't know why people have a problem with it.

"I don't want any regrets at the end of my career."

He was prepared to commit the rest of his career to Rovers when he thought we were an ambitious club, that is clear by the 5 year contract he signed. He shouldn't be bound to that because he was lied to, just like the rest of us.

No going back from this one. Either Samba is sold on deadline day or he stays outside the team till summer. I hope he isn't sold to QPR and 7M is a ridiculously low fee.

Don't think QPR are going down with Hughes either way though. Astonished that clubs who need him eg Arsenal and Spurs won't pay the required fee. No way would Spurs sell him for 7M.

It's clear with the transfer request and the interviews today that there is no chance he will play again for the first team. If we have a choice of letting Samba rot in the reserves or sell now then I would take the latter option every time. His value is only going to depreciate further, especially if he doesn't play for the rest of the season.

I did say on Monday that i thought he was refusung to play as he's been with the res's all week but same old Keano come out and said he'd play if his head was right knowing full well it wasn't :)

Never thought i'd hear him come out and say that he wouldn't give 100% though and think that's wrong. :(

But it's the way football is right now and the players are becoming too big for the clubs and it basically makes a mockery of a contract :(

He's better in the reserves than turning out for QPR

Do you think for a second that QPR will be down there come the end of the season now they have 1, plenty of cash and 2, a seriously good manager? With or without Samba they will move up the table now its time to whore Samba off to the highest bidder and try and rebuild.

Samba has been doing this for most transfer windows. But this time I consider it different. Other times it has been for his own ambition. This time because of the promises that were given to him not being fulfilled.

Venkys have lied to the walker trust, the premier league, the club, the players and the supporters and the media. Many have wanted players to speak out. Well one is doing.

Samba is boycotting playing for rovers, same as some fans are boycotting going to matches. Not much different - Samba though would have to boycott receiving his wages as well.

If he isn't 100% committed, then he shouldn't play. To say such a thing is very disrespectful to your team mates and the fans. He does this every transfer window and I have no doubt that the owners made a whole list of empty promises, but acting like this to force through a move is very distasteful.

If he had 6 months left on his contract, like Gary Cahill, then £7 million would be a decent price. But do you think that Bolton would have sold Cahill for that amount if he were one year into a five year deal? No chance. If someone wants him, they can pay the £12 million it would take for his services. Rovers shouldn't be forced into selling him on the cheap, because he may start causing problems at the club.

He's the one whose reputation will suffer because of it. It will look like a player, who didn't want to be a in a relegation battle, wanting to jump ship and because the club refuse to let their best player go, he starts causing trouble in and around the team. It hardly paints him in a good light for a new team.

He should stay, keep his mouth shut, help us stay up and finally get the move he's always been talking about in the summer for a price that are reflective of his abilities and not a cut price one to get him out the door.

I don't care who you are, you can't slate Samba for making those comments. Be realistic, he was always due a more successful club, and if a woman told me stick with her, and 12 months down the line I'd find out it was all lies.. I'd be gone.

I'm sorry if your a touchy soul, football is all about cash. The only part I don't agree with his own valuation, but that's him trying to wheedle his way out of a contract which is worth 12m. 60k x 4 years = a big transfer fee... You can pay it back to us if you want Chris...

Hoiletts figure is small due to lack of contract, do you think the idiotic venkys will sell someone on a long deal like this cheap? For all the stupidity, I don't think they will. Samba will rot in the reserves until someone can pay the amount left on his contract.

And its a shame. Chris is one of my all time favourite players, it is just another reason to stick the boot in our owners for giving him so much ammunition to leave.

But remember, the club will be here long after this lot. Grant Hanley is proving adequate so let's enjoy him until an agent gets a word in his ear.

wow just wow

I am on Samba's side becasue I would do the same thing if I had been lied and cheated in the same way, f**k the fans we are like any other fans, selfish for our club with little loyalty to players, he'll just kiss his badge somewhere else and get cheered.

If rumour and speculation are correct, then Barclays are now as p1ssed-off with Venky's as the supporters, Samba and other BRFC employees, including players.

IMO, Samba's statement will have a huge impact on Barclays' stance, who until now, we are given to believe, have been advising that Samba shouldn't be sold.

I think we will see Samba leave on either Monday and Tuesday and only Barclays will see the sale proceeds.

The crack in the dam in widening and very soon, I think we will see the avalanche that could drown us all.

he is well out of order. Just because things are bad at work does not mesan that you in the public domain says these sort of things. put in in the second team and dock his pay and see if he likes that.... and if he goes to his union fight it in the court.

As Andy Cryer has pointed out on Twitter, Jason Roberts has behaved like a true professional in a marked contrast to Samba.

Despite having his career effectively put on hold by the Pune cretins he has demonstrated class and dignity with his parting comments particularly those about our Young players.

I hope Samba is embarrassed. I suspect he isnt.
