I don't care who you are, you can't slate Samba for making those comments. Be realistic, he was always due a more successful club, and if a woman told me stick with her, and 12 months down the line I'd find out it was all lies.. I'd be gone.

I'm sorry if your a touchy soul, football is all about cash. The only part I don't agree with his own valuation, but that's him trying to wheedle his way out of a contract which is worth 12m. 60k x 4 years = a big transfer fee... You can pay it back to us if you want Chris...

Hoiletts figure is small due to lack of contract, do you think the idiotic venkys will sell someone on a long deal like this cheap? For all the stupidity, I don't think they will. Samba will rot in the reserves until someone can pay the amount left on his contract.

And its a shame. Chris is one of my all time favourite players, it is just another reason to stick the boot in our owners for giving him so much ammunition to leave.

But remember, the club will be here long after this lot. Grant Hanley is proving adequate so let's enjoy him until an agent gets a word in his ear.

I can disagree with his comments. If Arsenal and Spuds were banging down the door offering 15 mil plus and we were still not selling then fairs do's. But unless someone knows different it is only QPR interested who have offered only 5 million. During the last 5 transfer windows nobody has offered his asking price so he will stay a Rovers player. I sense he will stay and give an apology around 3rd Feb. "My was turned etc etc. I will now give 100%"

As Andy Cryer has pointed out on Twitter, Jason Roberts has behaved like a true professional in a marked contrast to Samba.

Despite having his career effectively put on hold by the Pune cretins he has demonstrated class and dignity with his parting comments particularly those about our Young players.

I hope Samba is embarrassed. I suspect he isnt.

venkys should be embarrassed, Kean should be embarrassed, Samba is forced into a corner, I'm embarrassed to support Blackburn these days.

He is fully entitled to seek a move in view of the train crash that is Rovers management and ownership. BUT we all get dissatisfied with aspects of our management from time to time, that doesn't preclude him to give 100% and turn out every time he is selected. His stance is totally unacceptable. He gets paid more in a month than most earn in a year. Perhaps 24 hours in the NHS would alter his viewpoint Re management and professionalism. I'm happy to arrange if he approaches me. In the meantime he should spend the rest of the season training on his own.

Embaressed??

But isnt the point he is worth more than 7 million so he isnt going anywhere especially not to feckin qpr.

If he wants to make threats and go for cheap he can sit in the reserves for 6 monnths then he will be slightly cheaper.

If a club wanted him they would have paid what he was worth way before now samba should be embaressed that nobody has.

Hhhmm 34 year old Jason Roberts who hasnt scored this season and cant get in our squad or Chris Samba in his prime, yeah they are roughly the same.

Roberts is genuinely a nice guy but its probably he who feels embarrassed and thats why hes been so polite on twitter etc. I crinched evey time Roberts was played as a lone striker.

Samba is the right age and on top of his game so wants to play for a better club. Of course hed rather play for Spurs or Arsenal but in reality it looks like they havent bid. HOWEVER (this will upset you now) even QPR look more desirable to play for than us these days, so in Sambas head QPR would be a "step up". QPR WILL finish above us this season. IF we keep Kean, QPR WILL finish above us next season, in fact worse case scenario next season we might be a Championship club and they will be a PL club. So yeah slate QPR all you want but with Hughes at the helm and an ambitious owner QPR ARE BETTER THAN US.

Do you remember Joe Kinnear laughing at Nzogbia for leaving Newcastle to go to Wigan (he also thought the likes of Arsenal wanted him?) well Newcastle went down and Wigan stayed up.

As far as I am concerned he exemplifies all that is wrong with the modern footballer and if the move he 'deserves' is Tottenham then I agree with you.

Another despicable individual.

Quotes from the "despicable individual".

I ``I signed a new deal last January because Venky's told me they had big plans. Names like Ronaldinho were mentioned and they promised there was going to be a lot of investment in the team. It hasn't happened.

``They don't understand football in this country and they don't realise how much I've given to Blackburn and that they have broken promises they have made. I stayed because I believed them but they weren't honest with me and now I know I made the wrong decision.

``I share the frustration of the fans who must have believed the owners too.''

Samba might as well be speaking for Rovers fans with those quotes. Are Rovers fans "despicable" too ?

Am I right in saying the Ronaldino saga was settled before Samba signed his contract?and why would any player sign such a long contract based on other players maybe coming to the club also, what exactly has he sacrificed for rovers? that he wasn`t being paid to do.Methinks Sparky has kept him on speed dial and been whispering in his ear.He cannot really sit behind the ambition argument if he wants to go to QPR.Rovers have been put through the mill in the last year but I would say that the only player that has left and is missed is Jones. Any others have either been past it or detrimental to the squad. Our squad is young and are on a steep learning curve but they are slowly but surely getting to the level they need to be at to start keeping clean sheets and going on a winning run.Samba is being disrespectful to the rest of the squad and should be told to suck it up and get on with playing football because it is only a game and he and his family should think themselves very lucky that in these uncertain times he is able to earn 60K a week and to know he will be earning at least that for the next four and a half years.

and get on with playing football because it is only a game .

Please tell me you are joking saying this ? It's the sort of quote that comes from people (mainly women) who who do not understand sport. Fact is football is a hard-headed business and apart from a few players professional footballers generally have no loyalty or sentiment towards the club they are playing for. Samba has given his employers 5 years excellent service and as far as he is concerned they have reneged on their part of agreement. He is entitled to seek new employment and should be allowed to leave for the right price. I would disagree with Samba's stance if the owners had fulfilled only a few of their promises but they have fulfilled none.

Difference being Roberts is approaching the end of his career, whereas Samba is in the middle. Also promises were made to him that have not been kept. In the same position, we would not be happy if somebody made us promises and did not keep them.

To equate Samba's position to that of your average Rovers fan is quite frankly ridiculous.

Samba has never missed an opportunity to agitate for a move regardless of the disruption this may or may not have caused the club. His 'what I've done for Blackburn' quote actually makes me feel a bit queezy. Almost as if he has done us a favour.

Samba is a man who feigned a belly ache in order to have a day off from his £60,000 week job instead of fighting for our club with his colleagues.

As I said - despicable.

Read Samba's quotes again - they could have come out of the mouths of any Rovers fan over the past 12 months. The only "despicable" people in this are the owners and their so-called management of our club.

For all those on here saying samba is right, you need to think about the situation as a whole! The club values samba at around 10 - 12 mil! This is because he is a great defender and threat in the oppositions box! He is under. Contract and therefore until this valuation is reached he should stay quiet and wait patiently! I see no Point in selling him because that would cost us a lot more money if we do go down! Also if you sign a player on a 5 year deal and he is a dud, the club are stuck with them and have to honour the contract if te player refuses to leave... Likewise a club should be allowed to force a player to honour their contract too! It is irrelevant what was said to persuade samba to sign... Unless it says in his contract that A B and C will be done, he hasn't any reason to force a move!

The only promises that the club have to fulfill to Samba are those that are in the contract that he signed.

I find it incredible that people are saying the club are in the wrong for not selling to a relegation rival, mid way through the season (and they are a relegation rival based on Hughes past record where it has always taken him 10/15 games to find a winning formula) for a cut price fee.

Where we agree, like any sane person, is on the owners.

You wont get me to agree on Samba.

In football, you have to let unhappy players go. It causes only unrest and divisions in the dressing room. Roberts was unhappy and he has gone. Forcing Samba to stay is not in the interests of the player or Rovers.

If he is being priced out of a move can some one tell me who we would get to replace him for the amount qpr have offered. I'm sorry but birmingham in finacial crisis and just relegated got more for both johnson and dann than qpr have offered for samba sorry your not being priced out. Best thing for all would be samba paying up his contract if he wants to leave so badly oh but wait he could not as he signed a new bumper contract just a year ago.

He's just being asked to do a job he is being paid handsomely for until we get a fair bid im sure if he falls down his stairs on the new wing of his mansion tommorrow he will still expect the club to pay up so why won't he do his job is it really being unreasonable to ask that?

And homosexuals.

And Luca Toni.

I do partly agree - but would selling him to a relegation rival for below his market value really be in the clubs interest either ?

Samba has been very clever - trying to say he was lied to along with the fans. Makes some fans daft enough to think he has some form of noble purpose - which is far from the truth.

When a suitable bid comes in, yes. When the only offer on the table is £3.50 and a half chewed lollypop from one of your relegation rivals, no.

Samba is effectively going on strike to force his way out of a contact that he was perfectly happy to sign. Feigning illness to miss training on the eve of a match, at least once if not twice.

Yes I agree that he should now be sold as soon as an appropriate bid comes in, but I cannot understand Rovers fans siding with a player who is attempting to hold our club to ransom.

It sounds like he is trying the old Wayne Rooney trick at Utd. I've read why he has said in The Sun, he is saying what the fans have been saying for the last 12 months.

Let him go but not to a team in the bottom half of the table, also sounds like Hughes is up to his old tricks ie Robbie Savage from Birmingham to the Rovers!
