at £10m i think Samba is undervalued , maybe thats biased but based on the market thats what i believe , the bids from QPR and Samba's transfer request have only served to try and bring that down so we

1) let him go and not get market value and have no time to replace him

2) hang on to an unhappy player taking 60k a week home with him

personally i'd be knocking on Spurs door with a figure in mind of say £6-8m anw taking someone like Bassong or Corluka as part of the deal initially on loan

QPR have 5 players who are prem quality including onuha and Tawio the others being Barton Luke young and SWP the rest of the team is poor. Taarbat is an exception because he is a great player who's style doesnt fit in with there style of play. 8 out of the 11 players who played in there last match at Wigan would struggle to make our bench.

..forgot about there best player Faurlin who would walk into our team.

With the amount of guff posted on here it's hardly a big issue. And I wouldn't have highlighted the point if it hadn't been for TWO posts needlessly referencing women.

Carry on.

It was an blasé example of a similar relationship, doesn't matter if it's a woman, a man or a dingle. Ironically it was a certain Indian woman who told him the pack of lies...

I like how the fans are split down the middle on this, but some of the more damming posts aimed at sympathisers or militants are a little off the mark.

How can anyone say they didn't expect this sooner or later? It's happened before, except this time Chris has legitimate reasons for wanting to leave. He may be a charlatan in many peoples eyes, but I haven't forgotten the amount of times he put his body on the line for the fans!

...and this is exactly why our anger should be directed at the owners. This has happened directly because of them. Don't hate Chris for saying exactly what we have for 6+ months

We have only had QPRs pitiful offer of 5mil so far. Until someone comes in with a reasonable offer he will have to stay. I have no qualms about Samba making a sideways move but we still need his Market value.

He is being badly advised because the big clubs obviously don't fancy him or he wouldve gone well before now.

Ok they broke their promises to him. I'm sure he could stick it out on 60K a week until the end of the season. He could help us stay up,then leave with everyone's blessing. But no Samba just won't have that. Afterall this is "The Chris Samba Show". The bloke effectivley wants to leave us in the ######. Nice ethics them. Good captaincy too. :angry2:

Are QPR really a sideways step? Rovers are not much bigger than QPR if at all. Ok they have a smaller stadium (18,360 compared to Ewoods 31,154) but they have an average of 16931 compared to our 22469. Which gives them a 92% att compared to our 72%. We really should stop club bashing and forget our past histories - what matters is now and how to preserve our club (hopefully our premiership status as well). And to be honest with Mark Hughes at QPR i dont really see them as a relegation rival now - just as I dont see Sunderland as one since they appointed Martin O'Neil.

No one wants samba to go and no one can blame him for wanting to go. This said I have a real issue with his comments in the Sun. He should look a Cahill at Bolton to see how to do it. Personally I cannot see anyone stumping up the cash..... Unless Harry has some spare cash he forgot about in a off shore account

Market value is only what someone is prepared to pay.

I will go out on a limb now and say no one will ever pay Rovers £15m for Samba.

If we ever get £10m we will do well.

Simply, there is no queue forming.

In reality we could sell him for 15mil and not a penny would be reinvested. Overrated player...let him rot on principle.

No we couldn't. Big clubs don't seem to rate. Will struggle to get a fee in 8 figures.

Whatever the fee, I don't think any would be reinvested - agree with you there.

The problem with Samba is that he's perfectly suited to a team like Rovers, or another team that defends deep, 'backs to the wall' style, and who rely on set pieces. However teams like that don't have the resources and/or the willingness to pay £10m+. The teams that do tend to want a different type of defender. That's not to say Samba couldn't do a job for those teams, but not to the extent that they'd be willing to pay big money.

It really is as simple as this.

UNLESS Rovers get an acceptable bid he doesnt get sold.

If Samba doesnt give 100% or make himself available as per his playing contract he doesnt get paid AND he gets fined.

Every time he bleats fine him his wages.

Btw Samba lad, ONLY QPR have come in for you. Not one of the big clubs have come near you because quite frankly they clearly dont rate you.

Its time for you to get your head down and play for the chance to make someone pay the required fee.

This time its the club that holds the aces and NOT the player.

It is amazing to hear some of the responses on here. It is like you still follow football with the brain of a seven year old child. Some of you find it impossible to view situations objectively when it comes to Rovers.

Excuse me, are you the same BFP who posted endless "exclusives" about how great both Ali Syed AND Venky's were going to be for us? :)

Imagine how valuable he would be to Stoke then? Hed be on 20 goals a season there!!!!

Stoke are more ambitious than us to satisfy Samba and spent big money on Crouch and Palacios so will pay good money if they like a player.

Give us money plus player deal (K.Jones? Palacios?)there you go sorted, I could have done Andersons job for half the price :D

Now i hate Venky's as much as the next man and i can understand those fans who believe Samba is justified in his actions. It essentially gives us all another reason to dislike the owners. Hypothetically, if he leaves, we can all say "it never would have happened if it weren't for Venkys". However, that is wide of the mark. Make no mistake, this situation has been cooked up by agents off the back of Carlos Tevez and his treacherous actions at City. Chris Samba and his comments sum up everything that is wrong with modern day football. He is a decent player yes. But we have had better players than him before and will have better than him again. Yet he thinks he is within his rights to say he cannot give 100% to the club! Incredible. Somehow, some people believe he is the voice of the fans. I can't believe that. It is truly amazing to have that mind set. Does anyone actually believe he'll give two shiny shytes about us fans if and when he gets his move?

We have got a football mercenary using in his defence the fact he has always given 100% for Rovers. Well i'm sorry, that isn't a boast. It doesn't elevate you above other players. Because, to my mind, giving 100% as a footballer is on a par with having two legs. Its the minimum i expect. This player power has to stop. Every single fan of every single club should not tolerate this. Because whilst we are the victim this time, we may be the victor the next (some would say we were in the Savage transfer). When this happens it will be worth considering whether we want to support a player who is capable of such an act. Chris Samba should be questioned by every top club from now on. Because i wouldn't want to fork out £10m and 60k a week for such a snake in the grass. Same goes for Tevez and anyone else who thinks it is acceptable. Chris Samba has spat in every Rovers fans face with his actions. Make no mistake. Venkys and their broken promises are a seperate issue.

He is a decent player yes. But we have had better players than him before and will have better than him again.

I hate when people pick on one line of a great post but on this point I'm not so sure.

Also, taking away the "voice of the protests" angle - which I agree is nonsense - it is clear to me that Samba feels he was lied to and was promised things which have not (and now seem virtually never to) materialised.

Given the extreme lengths the protests have gone to (that plane seems an awful long time ago), is it any wonder Samba is going to similar extreme lengths to try to leave?

Samba is not a Rovers fan and wishes to further his career. However, I agree he should not have made the "less that 100%" suggestions. Under any other circumstances I would be equally annoyed with Samba but I cannot divorce Samba's position from the situation Venkys have created.

The answer is very simple (although perhaps now too late). Venkys need(ed) to put their hands in their pockets and give it to a real manager to spend. We've been saying it for long enough. I would be a hypocrite if I had a pop at Samba for thinking the same.

Footballers are ALL mercenaries so we've done pretty well out of Samba. That said, we are where we are in the league having had Samba in the side so he might not be the difference between staying up and relegation?

Maybe the sooner Venkys get their money back from selling players, the sooner they'll push off. If anyone is spitting in the face of the fans it's them.
