What? Remember Mick McCarthy when he was in charge of Sunderland? 18 points from 38 games if I remember. And he's now in charge of Wolves, which finished below us anyway.

Kean a rubbish manager? He's better than McCarthy at least.

Wouldn't want Hughes back - don't people ever learn?

Would only come for the budget, which he did NOT spend well at Man City

Would bring back the Tafia, sacking everyone else here and they they all depart again taking the lightbulbs with them in 2 years time, plunging us once again into chaos

Young players would stop being brought through the ranks

Never go back: bringing back Johnny Carey didn't help much

Maybe Kean is a chancer, but that doesn't make my statements that you quoted any less of a fact. You may claim that he is not qualified and came within 90 minutes of getting us relegated, but the fact is he did better than the five managers below us, got us more than half of our points in half of a season and we did NOT get relegated. You can whine and flame Kean all you want (and please move it to the Kean thread) but that doesn't change the facts that we didn't get relegated and that we did amass at least 23 points out of 43 under Kean.

All of which does not mean he should be in the job. Having an opinion isn't "flaming" by the way.

On the subject of Hughes, the owners have stated that they like Kean as a man and as a manager and that he will be in the job for the foreseeable future so going back on their word and sacking him at this point must be unlikely.

On the other hand they promised to invest £x millions in new players in the last window and make "marquee" signings so whether you can trust anything they say is doubtful.

Firstly, you agree that we had stability with the previous management, and replacing Allardyce with Kean destablized everything. So...wouldn't replacing Kean with Hughes destablize everything as well?

Well I hope so. We need destabilising, because I for one don't want to watch another season of Champions league talk, while in actual fact fighting another relegation battle.

So yeah, we need destabilising.

Facts[/b]--Sam--------21 pints from 17 games.

Kean-------22 from 21.

Not quite the slant you were putting on it!

But Kean was the only one caught drink driving :)

Okay, I'll respect your opinions then. And it works the other way round as well: all of which does not mean he should not be in the job either.

But hey, I'll respect your opinion and hopefully you'll respect mine. :D

But I agree, I doubt Hughes will return. He didn't do that well with a huge budget at Manchester City, but will it be any different in Blackburn? I hope not. Well, I doubt he's coming over anyway.

I have not looked too much into it however weren’t Man City on course for finishing 4/5th place when Hughes left (i.e. he was doing a decent job there) – plus his signings were not all bad, some of them (his signings) turned out to be key members of the team that did finish 4th last season.

Hughes was hampered by the owners making their own "marquee" signings that did nothing for the team. That should ring some bells with some of our fans who seem accepting of the idea here.

No idea where this Hughes coming back rumour has come from and before anyone else PM's me, I am not aware of a bust-up between Kean and whatever these days passes for being the Rovers board.

Hughes blew Jerome Anderson out when he was at City.

I think that is all we need to know about the likelihood of him returning to Ewood.

Why would Venky's employ someone who clearly counts their chickens before they've hatched (i.e leaving Fulham), that is rule number 1.2 in their company handbook.

Well statistics and the bookmakers would say you are wrong on that one.

I can't see it but there is less chance of winning the lottery, especially if you play Euromillions as that's now £2 per entry.

You'd at least have a chance of winning the lottery. Whereas there is NO CHANCE whatsoever of Mark 'the grass is greener' Hughes returning to Ewood. His ego would not allow it.

Has no one put an end to this rumour yet?

Perhaps nobody from above sees fit to even respond to it. Kean is getting on with his job by the looks of things and Hughes will be going on to bigger things, whenever that might be. He won't be responding to every internet rumour.

Perhaps he thought he was going to get the Chelsea job...................again.

Then we should thank agents for keeping season ticket prices down.... well done agents!!!

Aren't you the guy who refered (refers?) to the members of the Walker trust as "trusties"?

Now I don't really care about that, but if you are to criticize someone else's spelling, it's a good idea to make sure yours is up to par first.
