Maybe Kean is a chancer, but that doesn't make my statements that you quoted any less of a fact. You may claim that he is not qualified and came within 90 minutes of getting us relegated, but the fact is he did better than the five managers below us, got us more than half of our points in half of a season and we did NOT get relegated. You can whine and flame Kean all you want (and please move it to the Kean thread) but that doesn't change the facts that we didn't get relegated and that we did amass at least 23 points out of 43 under Kean.

All of which does not mean he should be in the job. Having an opinion isn't "flaming" by the way.

On the subject of Hughes, the owners have stated that they like Kean as a man and as a manager and that he will be in the job for the foreseeable future so going back on their word and sacking him at this point must be unlikely.

On the other hand they promised to invest £x millions in new players in the last window and make "marquee" signings so whether you can trust anything they say is doubtful.

But I agree, I doubt Hughes will return. He didn't do that well with a huge budget at Manchester City, but will it be any different in Blackburn? I hope not. Well, I doubt he's coming over anyway.

I have not looked too much into it however weren’t Man City on course for finishing 4/5th place when Hughes left (i.e. he was doing a decent job there) – plus his signings were not all bad, some of them (his signings) turned out to be key members of the team that did finish 4th last season.

Hughes was hampered by the owners making their own "marquee" signings that did nothing for the team. That should ring some bells with some of our fans who seem accepting of the idea here.
