Baz, full backs aren't that expensive?? Glen Johnson, Ashley cole, Wayne bridge, steven warnock, Patrice Evra, Gareth bale.... Surely all of those full backs were expensive.

The list goes on and on. Look through the league and you'll find the majority of full backs cost more than £4m.

Only one of those players you mention are right backs, left backs are highly sought after. £4m for a regular international isn't much though, regardless of position.

Ricky - 'Average' Russian fullbacks dont cost £4m though, and yes full-backs tend to be the least exspensive players in almost every team. Sure there are more valuable ones but this guy isnt reckoned to be top-notch.

Pretty sure we havent spent £4m on any full-back, or not since the Walker years.

The risk in buying someone who doesnt speak English, from a poorer league in which he isnt outstanding surely is naive at best.

Baz it's not this fella anyway. It's actually the Russian captain who is actually very very good. Out of contract in December so might be a bit cheaper.
