AmazinTim Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I'd just like that thank everyone in the UK for Mumford and Sons. I'd all but given up on modern music but they have totally restored my faith. That's all.

cletus Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 Saw them on Glastonbury (BBC tv) tonight, & must admit they came across really well. Not usually my sort of music but totally enjoyed them
only2garners Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 I was at Glastonbury and left about three songs into the Mumfords set to look for something more interesting. That's not to say I haven't enjoyed them - I have the album and saw their set last year. It's just that I suspect they are one trick ponies, albeit with a trick that seems to go down well all over the place. But I had just watched Fleet Foxes on the same stage and their performance was head and shoulders better - simple beautiful melodies with haunting harmonies and way above anything I suspect that Marcus and his mates are capable of. Still the Mumfords will probably stay more popular than the Fleet Foxes but it was ever thus.
AmazinTim Posted June 28, 2011 Author Posted June 28, 2011 It's a hell of a lot better than the dreck that's being made in the States, that's for sure.

I like muford and sons but only for a while. ie I can listen to about three songs but after that I get bored. Will be interesting to see what they do next
