Piatti being mentioned, that is great if true. I would also take Keane, that could be a good deal.

Rondon is a good striker too but we won't sign three strikers.

This is a special player, great skills, pacey and direct. He scored 10 goals with 4 assists in a poor Almeria team last season.

Him, Hoilett and Cisse as a forward 3 would be amazing.

To summarise the people article

Main Striker - Papa Cisse £12m

Young Striker - Jose Rondon £10m/ Leandro Damiao’s £7.5m.

Left Winger - Pablo Piatti £7-8m

Centre Mid - Waiting game for Jones

Right Back - Alexander Anyukov £4.5m

Centre Back - Miranda Free

Its good to see the targets, no doubting some of them will be very difficult to get, Cisse & Piatti especially.

with piatti on the left on hoilett on the right, wow now if thats doesnt want samba to stay well i will pack his bags for him

Piatti is 1,63cm and Aaron Lennon is 1,65. Piatti has got both pace, dribbling and great shooting ability. His height wont be a problem..

One of the best players ever in the PL was Zola and he was not tall was he???

I think my testicles immediately ran out of ammo when I heard this news. What a brilliant signing Piatti would be at 8m. Praying to a God I don't even believe in that this works out.

Nzogbia, Hoilett, Benayoun, SWP, Silva, Lennon, none are tall but cause plenty of problems in the prem, I don't see height a massive issue if they have pace or skill.

Would a permit not cause a problem for this guy?

A permit?? Doubt it! One look at one of his youtube reels and he'll be straight through. He's also only 22 and got an Argentina cap three weeks ago. He definitely meets the exceptional talent criteria.

One thing I'm curious about...if it's all true, why the hell are we fannying around negotiating with Almeria? I'd usually advocate trying to wrangle the best price, but in this case he's WELL worth the 8 million and we need to get it done before somebody bigger inevitably gazumps us. I'd be astonished if we're the biggest club interested in him.

Don't get too excited clubs are already looking at him like udinese and benifica. This one will be tricky to pull of.

Has it been confirmed that Piatti is on the list?think i was the first person to reccomend the argentine,would be far more excited bout him signing than Cisse.Class act.

Would have no problem spending £8 million on this guy, one player that you couldn't argue the asking price.

Very interesting to hear from Nicko that he would come here and his agent has an interested in moving here.

We British really need to get out of this mindset that height negates ability in some way.

Like others have said Piatti has European experience and performed well in a decent league. He plays a bit like Messi (obviously not as good), he has that low centre of gravity allowing him to be strong on the ball but skillful and pacey as well.

He would be a brilliant signing.

First really exciting player that we've been seriously linked with. Would be a brilliant move and £8m is a decent price.

Couple of seasons in the Premier League and he will be worth double that.
