XLM Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I'm glad he's gone for his sake. He was treated awfully by the fans. Not good enough, but that was never his fault.

Al Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I'm glad he's gone for his sake. He was treated awfully by the fans. Not good enough, but that was never his fault. Not sure about that. He knew before he came that the fans didn't want him but came anyway. What did he expect.
XLM Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Not sure about that. He knew before he came that the fans didn't want him but came anyway. What did he expect. I doubt he did. And either way, would you turn down the chance to play Premier League football (and when you're Irish, International football by proxy)? No.
cn_barlow Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 All the best to him. Hope he does well there....mainly so he doesn't come back!
mark1875 Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 has he gone? i cant see anything to suggest he has?
daveoftherovers Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 http://www.twtd.co.uk/news.php?storyid=18941 http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/football-league/championship/9724/9/ipswich-land-andrews-loan-blackburn "Jog on" p.s. I'll put good money on him doing well for them you know, as long as I go full on cockney if I'm wrong, and take it back from ladbrokes LOL
Grez Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I wish him good luck. It's not his fault we decided to employ him and give him £21k a week. Who would have turned that down. Glad he's gone though - the snow is a bugger around January in Ipswich so you might as well stay there until next may at least.
Al Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I doubt he did. And either way, would you turn down the chance to play Premier League football (and when you're Irish, International football by proxy)? No. Yes he did. It was all over the messageboards for quite a while. No I would not have refused it but he certainly couldn't have expected to be welcomed with open arms. His reception was inevitable particularly in view of his lack of ability.

I didn't say he expected to be loved, but he didn't deserve to be treated so badly. Booing someone for a lack of natural ability is pathetic. Lack of effort or interest, fair enough. For being a nob head. But not for not quite being talented enough.
1864roverite Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 There is a GOD ! At least one thing I can now look forward to, NOT hearing his name being read out and choking on my pre match pint ! Good riddance
Stuart Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 It would be hypocritical to say anything other than I'm glad he's gone. But I've nothing against him as a bloke and wish him all the best.
Kelbo Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Can we all club together now and buy Jonnolad an Ipswich shirt!! Much as I hate him as a player, I dont wish him any harm and hope he becomes a success at Ipswich. Then they'll sign him on a permanent deal too!!
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 He never said a bad word about the club and was always professional which is to his credit considering the abuse he got. It wasn't his fault that Ince brought him here and it wasnt his fault that he was picked to play. He wasn't good enough but that's that. Good luck to him.
Ossydave Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Good luck to him. It was never HIS fault his name was on the team sheet, and when it was his effort could never be faulted. Simply did what any normal human being would do and applied himself to the best of his (limited) ability. I'd buy him a pint if I ever bumped into him
Al Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 You lot are unbelievable. When he was picked for the team it was moan moan moan. Now he's leaving he's a great bloke. Sorry but I'm not that much of a hypocrite. I'm glad he's going and good riddance. Good luck with your new team. i hope it works for you. More your level.
riverside returns Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Keith Andrews has not done anything to deserve the derision and bad behaviour of a section of fans. He tried and was a good professional. I do believe that he was never good enough but did not deserve the treatment he got. Anyway, good luck keith, I hope all works out for you!

Andrews appeared to be a decent bloke and doesn't deserve derision, save that for people who slag off the club.

rogerjonesgloves Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Not sure about that. He knew before he came that the fans didn't want him but came anyway. What did he expect. I'm sure he was glued to Rovers forum sites. Fantasy.

As somebody who wished a broken leg on a young lad for deciding to play for a different football team I can safely say that while you may or may not be a hypocrite I hope nobody pays the slightest bit of notice to your miserable, twisted opinions.
jim mk2 Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Good luck to Keith Andrews in the rest of his career. I remember a good last-minute equaliser at West Brom under Ince but not much else and was out of his depth in the Premier League Hopefully his mum / dad / agent will be pleased with his move and won't darken these doorsteps again.

He's back in January! Why is everyone acting like he's permanently gone?
