Nolan scored more goals last season than all our strikers! From mid-field!

Of course he'd get in our side.

I wouldnt want Nolan in the team. He did well for the first half of last season but I dont think he'd offer much we havent got. We dont need a Kevin Nolan type of player. And to be fair Id imagine most premiership midfielders scored more than our strikers.

I think Nolan scored 10! That's a very high return for a mid-fielder and certainly good enough for us. How many did Dunn,Pedersen,N'Zonzi,Emerton and Jones score for us again?

Nolan scored 12 goals from midfield last season and has scored goals pretty consistently throughout his career. He's a leader on and off the pitch and would have been a tremendous asset to our club. West Ham have signed the best value player so far of this transfer window. O'Hara looks a decent player too but the rest in that list aren't worth bothering with.

Nolan has been given a 5yr deal on 60k a week, I don't care how many goals he scored last season, that would have been stupid money and glad we stayed away.

Nolan is 30 and they've offered him a 5 year contract! That is just plain stupidity from their owners and manager. Yes he scores goals but no way would any club offer a 5 year deal to a 30 year old, unless he's a GK.

O'Hara would have been a decent signing, but I'd rather have J.Jones in the middle. I feel he has more of a presence in the middle.

Nolan's an excellent player, always given 100%, is improving each year with age, likely to prove good value over the 5-years of the contract and better than any of the Carlos Kickaballs we've been linked with. Where else are you going to sign a goalscoring midfield player for that sort of money ? West Ham have a bargain. All hypothetical anyway but only wish Sam was still here to have signed him for Rovers.

I always got the impression that Nolan didn't like Rovers one bit. But some of you still can't resist brining up Big Fat Sam eh.

Typical ignorance of those who do not watch any overseas football. Piatti for example is 10x the player Nolan is, he also has massive potiential re-sale value, something Nolan woudnt have at his age.

Bert is quoted by Andy Cryer in the LT today saying "I think there will be a few additions over the summer and they will be quality additions as well, not just average players....We need a few players who are of exceptional ability and I think they are going to deliver that hopefully".

Note the "hopefully" - most important word there methinks.

I watch plenty of overseas football thank you. It is your presumed knowledge that is ignorant.

Yet you choose to label talents such as Piatti, Damiao, Witsel, Rondon et al “Carlos kickaball”............ All of the aforementioned players are all a different class to the likes of Nolan, thus the reason why he plays in Championship.

I would suggest before degrading overseas players in the future you do a little research beforehand.

I have seen all of those players and in my opinion they are not in a "different class". They are also unproven in the Premier League.

I would suggest you desist from inflating the worth of players just because they are from overseas and also desist from presuming I may or may not have done my "research".

This messageboard is about opinions - if you don't like them argue the point without making ignorant assumptions.

I think its unfair to compare nolan to piatti, both are completely different players and would add to our squad as it is at the minute.

Would love to get piatti to the club, hoillet and piatti on either wing would be terrifying for opponent wing backs. Especially if we've got a powerful striker in the middle like cisse. Think that front three would scare any back line in the premiership.

Add that to witsel and a playmaker in the middle of the park and we're cooking on gas :D

We've got plenty of time to add to the squad but I just hope we get new additions in soon so they can inbed into the squad so we can start the season off fast. We want to be doin well for a start so confidence is high and hopefully take us to crimbo in a decent position

But Jim a 5yr deal on 50/60k a week? and you're saying West Ham have a bargain

Stupid money for a player who had a decent season last season, will probably have one this in the championship, but thats your lot.

Glad we stayed clear.

If you have seen all of the above, your opinion that nolan would be a better signing is even more dumfound. Tell me Jim which other top 10 clubs were in for Nolan?

Santa Cruz, Benni Mac, Samba, Tugay, Nelsen none had Premiership experience when they signed. A good player with the will to learnn a new culture will adapt quickly. I just dont buy the prerequsite of new signings having premiership experience

What as Nolan got to do with BRFC ????

Nothing.

But he has a lot to do with transfers. If you have read the posts, and wrong of me I know, which I assume you did not, you would see that Comrade Jim was using him as a fine example of a solid player that has moved clubs, coincidently to one now managed by a previous Rovers manager.

Others were ridiculing Jims stance that he is a decent player, but by maintaining that stance, he showed that transfers are attainable and not limited to agents sons and fossilized goalkeepers.

Robbo

salgado Samba Onuoha Givet

J.Jones Nzonzi

Hoilet Rochina Olson

Cardoza

Realistic team for next season.

That's still a very good team in my opinion. However I don't think we will be signing Cardozo (that is who you mean right?).... Who we get in at striker is crucial imo.

Anyone know if Daniel Villalva of River Plate has signed for anyone, great finisher and lightning quick he is destined for big things and heard he wants a move to europe, would be an awesome signing.he is 5 ft 1" tall but i don't believe that crap about having to be 6ft or over to make it in this league.if someone could, would they post a video of the player please.
