But Jim a 5yr deal on 50/60k a week? and you're saying West Ham have a bargain

Stupid money for a player who had a decent season last season, will probably have one this in the championship, but thats your lot.

Glad we stayed clear.

Only just caught up with this so sorry to bring it back up.

I'm also glad we stayed clear but not because of the bargain v stupid money scenario - the guy hates us and the shirt and whenever he played has played against us, all I have ever seen him do is mouth off at other players and the officials and try to get players sent off.

I think it will prove VFM for Spammers providing he stays fit and that's also based on that Parker will have left, and will be their main factor in trying to get back ( their return) into the P/L

My Wishlist

O'Shea - good option for all positions in the backline

J.Jones or Witsel - either to play alongside N'Zonzi. Unfortunately I have not seen Witsel in the flesh and you it is difficult to judge a players potential based on footage courtesy of eurosport!

N'Zogbia - can't believe we haven't been linked with this guy. exploit Dave Whelan's sentimental side!

Adebayor (striker is a priority and a proven goalscoring record is essential) - a mercenary but a proven goalscorer. if RM haven't bid by late August, Venkys should put their money where their mouth and push the boat out for a loan move. The fact that none of the bigger German clubs have been linked with Cisse is a concern but his record is impressive)

So I guess my XI would be:

Robinson

Salgado, Nelson, Samba/Givet, O'Shea

Jones/Witsel, N'Zonzi

N'Zogbia Olsson

Hoilett

Adebayor

Ramsey? Bargain bin?

I don't like wish list really, but was in the pub last night casually talking about what realistic signings i would like to see at Ewood this summer.

My first 11 plus squad came out something like this.

GK - Robbo

RB - Salgado

CB - Samba

CB - Johnson (From Brum)

LB - Givet

RW - Hoilett

CM - N'Zonzi

CM - McCarthy (From Wigan)

LW - Olsson

ST - Santa Cruz (From City)

ST - Long (From Reading)

Subs - Bunn, Nelson, Emerton, Reo-Coker (From Villa), Pederson, Formica, Rochina

In Reserve - Hanley, Ramm, Lowe, Dunn, Roberts, Benjani

The Johnson & McCarthy signings would come from the Phil Jones money, with Santa Cruz & Long coming from cash generated by moving out the likes of Kalinic, Grella, Andrews, Diouf etc. Although a lot easier said than done i know, christ knows who would want that bunch of "talent"

You might raise your eyebrows at Santa Cruz considering the pitiful loan spell he had with us, but i honestly think a fully fit Santa could still provide the target man role at Rovers next season.

Scott Parker anyone? Every pundit going was assuring us at the end of the season he would be moving on from WHAM! but no bids. Would have a go at getting him and send Grella n Andrews the other way.

People thinking we can trade or sell Grella away are more deluded than our owners right know. Sam kicked the ball in anger more last season than Grella has since he has been here.

I would have a better chance selling ear muffs to Lucifer than our club getting a buyer for that nag.

Madjid Bougherra

Wants away from Rangers, wants to play in the Prem, 28 years old, experienced Centre Half and would be available for 4 or 5 million (I reckon).

Down side, he's been sent home from Rangers tour with a suspected hamstring. Other than that I think he would make a quality signing.

Even Hovland of Sogndal in Norway could be a steal. 22 years old, captain and a modern centre half.

Very much the same attributes as Phil Jones: pace, strength and can good footballing skills. Been linked with Manchester United in the past and probably available for under 1 mill p.

Would like the rumours to be true that Macheda might be coming from Man Utd.(by rumours I mean that I have read it either on this message board or in passing on some football site...so no link) on loan for the season (they have a million strikers already). The rest of the blanks I cannot fill in and didn't include Samba in the picture either as he is on his way out -- although Aaron Ramsey coming the other way from Arsenal (currently on loan to Cardiff) might provide a good central midfielder with some ability to feed the ball down the wings and to the strikers. Do Rovers have any realistic options out there to fill in these blanks this late in the game?

????..................Macheda* on loan

(Goodwillie)..........(Rochina)

(Roberts).............

Petrovic......???........Hoillet......Formica

(Gamst).......(Dunn).....(N'zonzi)....(Emerton)

(Olsson)

Givet.........Bruno......Nelson.......???

()...........()......... (Hanley).....(Salgado)

Robinson

(Bunn)

Would like the rumours to be true that Macheda might be coming from Man Utd.

Why? He's hardly the goalscorer we need. Fed up of loaning strikers to be honest, it's a bad cycle to get into. It's not like we've had much luck with loan strikers anyway.

I still think Roque is going to end up here before the window closes.

We need at least four new players in before the window closes.

CB - Joseph Yobo, Dedryck Boyata, Angelo Ogbonna, Sebastien Bassong

MF - Wilson Palacios, Steven Defour, Kristofer Hastad, Jermaine Jones

FW - Yakubu, Jermaine Defoe, Papiss Cisse, Robert Lewandowski, Matthew Amoah
