(LB) - Stephen Warnock

Despite the fact that I don't see any mention of Warnock on Cryer's twitter, nor any clues in this thread, I would like to see Warnock in Blackburn. But if we are to sign Piatti, and Olsson is to be our main LB, I don't see the point of buying Warnock other than having an Englishman in our squad.

Ah, I can't be doing with this thread for every player stuff. Most off putting. Especially when the player isn't coming in the first place/ or belongs to someone's imagination. Can't be bothered to read 'em all.

Anyway don't think Stevie is a target. Nice guy, but another for whom the grass was not greener.

Andy Cryer - no excuse for printing all that nonsense.

That's why I've been putting the source under each link, but Andy's mega update today kinda messed up my system, but I've now way of knowing which ones he thinks are serious.

I'm with you mum. It's a good experiment but there are just too many tenuous links to keep up with.

Are you reading Mr Cryer. Get to the real stories already!!

My hope is silly ones will be ignored, the credible ones replied to, so the list becomes self-managing.

But I just realised I'm now bumping the Stephen Warnock thread, defeating my own purpose.

I think the problem is that these threads don't offer anything in the first post, there is nothing to get discussion started.

Wouldn't it be better to wait for someone else to start the thread when they have a point to go with it? I think the idea behind the system is good though, just needs tweaking.

I felt it was important to get the thread started quickly, so those people who don't have the time to read the transfer threads (which is 95% of the visitors) can see at a glance who we're linked with. It never dawned on my that even by limiting it to semi-reputable sources we'd end up with 2 pages worth before the window is even properly open.

Don't Villa owe Rovers some cash for Warnock?

I don't know how accurate this is but a Villa supporting friend told me that the last instalment is £2m, when Warnock plays a certain amount of league games.

Warnock has been stuck on 48 premier league games since last December.

Just checked, 49 games. If we get a final instalment at 50 and Villa don't want to pay then he's history at Villa.

Kills his resale value though.

dont want warnock back, why are we targeting more mediocre players like him. Fabiano would be interesting if he still has it. There must be a reason why he is back in brazil. And injury raveged? not more crocks, uckin hell, more players linked with us, sick of this b*llocks.

You need to have seasoned Prem tested Pros in a team with talented youngsters or players that are new to the prem.

As talented as some players may be, the Prem is a different ball game to which you need players that are used to it, I dont expect Warnock will arive but if he does and it lets Givet play his natural postiton it will save the club a helluva lot of dosh chasing another centre back which seem to be in short call in the prem at the mo.

I have thought recently it seemed very naive that with all the clubs chasing prem centre backs the price of a decent centre half has shot right up, makes more sense to put Givet in the middle and chase a left back which has been long overdue, rather this or pay 12 -15 million for Dann or Johnson from a club that got relegated.

Solid pro and a natural left-back (which we lack), who can cover in midfield.

If it frees up more cash for the midfield/forwards, then great.

We never replace him really. would be good addition to our team and come be the team captain next season for us if we lose Samba

if we sign him then it would leave Givet to play more into middle.
