Its Phil Jones fault.

Given the amount of times they've been mentioned recently on this site, it means the ad mechanism assumes there is some interest.

I'm surprised we arent getting advertisements for Manure mind ;)

Google goes to great lengths to serve you up personalised adverts. It partly uses the web page, partly the website but a large part of it is what google knows about you. And google knows a LOT about you, especially if you regularly log into a google service (i.e. gmail). As Ste says, Phil Jones and mentioned a lot and we'll score pretty highly on football too and probably "season tickets", we're a prime target for them (technically).

Now if Man Utd had any sense they'd add sites from other clubs to the list of sites they'd like to be advertised on as each time somebody from here sees those adverts it cost them money (if you click on them, it costs them even more) and they're hardly like to sell any (well maybe in the transfer section, where there a probably a few Man Utd fans).

Ok, the nasty Man Utd adverts should go away soon (I just realised we can block individual advertiser that may be "competitive"). I hope you all make up for it by using them to get the Haye vs Klitschko PPV instead :)
