Cool Witsel.. kind of unexpected that one.. so much for the lists lol..

Witsel over JJ I guess, good player and a very very decent goals return for a defensive midfielder.

Kind of explains a little in other areas, might be the only player the manager and Kentaro agree on.

Personally I've never heard of him until now but a quick google search shows that the likes of United, Arsenal and Milan were all after him not too long ago, so he can't be all that bad

And becuase someone is bound to post it sooner or later, here's his horror tackle which resulted in him badly breaking someones leg (graphic stuff)

For me it doesn't have any bearing but some will probably not want him due to it

Witsel is the 'hot' name on the latest list.

The guy also went missing at Standard Liege today.

He is an SEM/Kentaro client.

Yes, he is wanted by 'bigger' clubs.

But if the advisers can't land this one then there really is a problem.

Cracking player. Hard as ****, can play too. Right age. Won't be silly wages. Fee may be an issue, but that can be worked on.

If you land this one there will be a clucking fest from the usual politically-correct quarters, but who gives one.

It may also heal some wounds that have been opened...and make the whole operation look like it can work.

Not holding breath. But this player is worth a real swing of the bat.

I gave Witsel a thought (and i think someone on here even mentioned him) a month or so back, trawling through Kentaro/SEM website to see who they'd fix us up with.

No complaints to be fair.

Nicko, do you believe we may still go after Piatti?

Witsel is a cracking player... He's a bit of a Robbie Savage type, with ability & some real aggression, the coaching staff will have to reign this in though as he is very prone to making stupid tackles after nearly ending the careers of 2 blokes in Belgium.

He works well with Steven Defour... if we are going all out we should have a crack at him too!!!

Together they are a similar pair of players to Tugay & Robbie Savage, who in my opinion were the best midfield duo we have had for years.

No point getting too excited yet is there??? ;)
