When the ball hits your eye, and makes you drop your pie, thats Amauri!

I'll almost guarantee it'll start "Amauri, oh,oh oh oh," add any of the usual tags to that...

I have no insider info.

I have no real reason to be optimistic.

However, even the most dimwitted or delusional (Kean) person connected with the club must realise that unless some decent signings are delivered then the groundswell of anti-Venkys feeling will be ginormous. To the extent that:

1) Venkys will not be able to attend any games home or away.

2) Kean will be slaughtered by the fans and possibly players - having promised good signings - making his position untenable. He will not get a job elsewhere.

3) The owners/management/club will be further pilloried by the press with even more damage done to brand Venkys.

For these reasons alone I believ some transfer activity will happen.

It is painful being a fan at the moment and I wish I could stop checking this board every 5 minutes only to be continually disappointed/depressed. Role on the holidyas and lack of wifi connection...

There is a great 5 min film on youtube Linky which somes up everything about Rovers as it stands - If you have the time, watch it, I'm sure you'll appreciate the irony. Just imagine it's Balaji in the clip.....

Mods: Apologies if this post shouldn't be in the transfer thread - wasn't sure where else to put it.

right back on topic, Manchester City duo Jo and Felipe Caicedo both look set to seal moves to Russia. Jo in talks with CSKA, Lokomotiv in for Caicedo. would you take a chance on any of these two ?

Jo is one of the worst excuses for a professional footballer I've ever seen

Signing him would be as ridiculous as whoever said a few pages back that Andre Villas Boas is like a kitman

Slightly out of context my friend, I said to some of the Chelsea team he was the equivalent (of Kean to Rovers players) as he was there under Mourinho and was the guy who handed them the DVDs. He obviously has done stuff since to prove himself as a capable manager (unlike Kean). By no means was I saying Villas-Boas is crap.

He was very highly thought of during his previous spell there as far as I know, I doubt the same can be said for Kean

if we went out and spent 30 million most people would be exstatic but unfortunately most people are realists enough to know that these tightwads probably wont even spend half of that.

And yet a few pages ago you were saying how we (well kean) was stupid enough to spend a lot of money on someone from the Danish league. I understand peoples concerns, I share them, but some people are going OTT and even ending up contradicting themselves just to give a negative comment.

Obafemi Martins could be good signing for us. would be available for 5 or 6 million pounds.

decent goalscoring record at Newcastle was 35 goals in 104 games.

When he was on loan last season at Brimingham City, they had a option to buy him for 5 million pounds in the summer.

Really? We needed strengthening in January and it was their chance to make a good first impression being their first window. Please don't re-write history and suggest our squad then was near perfect and all we needed was minor tinkering. Our needs then were the same as they are now and people were calling for a dedicated left-back, midfielder and striker. We bought 2 players, one of whom hasn't featured at all and the other making cameos that although are positive in terms of the future didn't immediately improve our team. We also loaned two players, one of whom was an expensive failure (RSC, 9 games, 0 goals) and J.Jones who on the whole was a good loan. So one out of four, not great IMO.

You cherry pick Torres and Dzecko (bought by two clubs with more money and sense) but declined to mention....

Michael Bradley (loaned to Villa)

David Bentley (loaned to Brum)

Obafemi Martins (loaned to Brum)

Daniel Sturridge (loaned to Bolton)

Gael Kakuta (loaned to Fulham)

Sulley Muntari (loaned to Sunderland)

Steven Pienaar (Sold to Everton for £3m)

Robbie Keane (loaned to WHU and who we're now trying to buy)

Demba Ba (sold to WHU)

Wayne Bridge (left back we needed loaned to WHU)

Jamie O'Hara (loaned to Wolves)

Not for one minute am I claiming they set the world alight but I think they would have improved our squad more than Formica, RSC and Rochina did (in terms of immediate effect).

You name 11 players and arguably THREE were successful in Sturridge, Ba and O Hara.

So what 25% of signings are successful in Jan and we signed four with one that worked-did alright didn't we! I didn't re write history- we have needed a central midfield player, striker and left back for TWO years now, why blame Venkys for Jan when they sorted out two of the three?!

We had our biggest success with Jones but Rochina looks an excellent prospect too.

There are doubts over his age though, he claims to be 26 but I doubt it very much.

Decent enough player though.

The window which is universally accepted as being the most difficult to purchase players and for them to succeed, you only need to look at £50 million Torres and £37 million Dzeko for that. We spent about £4 million in transfers and a further £4 million in wages for two loanees, one of whom was one of our better players in the second half of the season- that in my eyes was a decent window, this has always been the KEY window, there can be no more waiting or saying "January is when we will sign players", put up or shut up.

I dare say that you can add a few million pounds over the last six months for agents' fees, etc including Kentaro. Value for money, IMO, no.

Samba tweeting alot today - Question and answer type thing. Non committal on his future, doesn't know what's happening...not exactly nailing his colours to the mast. Also thinks it's too early to rate Kean ...but hopes the best is to come.

Well someone told me yesterday

That when you score you love to play

You act as if you don't care

You look as if you're going somewhere

But I just can't convince myself

I couldn't live with no one else

And I can only play that part

And cheer you with my Blue'n'white heart

Amauri.......

Amauri.....

Amauri......

Amauri......

Amauri....

Amauri........

Amauri......

Amauri.......

Amauri....

Amauri...........

Amauri......

Amauri............

Now no one's knocked upon my door

Since I last saw Shearer score

All dressed up and nowhere to go

Welcome to this Rovers show

Just take a seat they're always free

No surprise no mystery

In this Ewood that I call my soul

You always play the starring role

Amauri.......

Amauri.....

Amauri......

Amauri......

Amauri....

Amauri........

Amauri......

Amauri.......

Amauri....

Amauri...........

Amauri......

Amauri............

nicko DM article about rovers missing out on Witsel and the problems between Kean and the owners

Why did the owners only bid 4 million pounds for him? If we bidded 7 million we would have got him and he was the right player to replace JJ.

I don't get why the owners are being so tight with the money. We must have 20 million pounds to spend after the Jones sale. If Kean want him then we should have gone and got him. Kean knows who he wants to sign.

Come On the Owners spend some money!!!

Ffs, how many of our targets are we gonna miss out on just because venkys can't stop fannying about, getting more and more frustrating, get your house in order venkys otherwise we are gonna bf left with the transfer scraps and an inevitable relegation scrap!

The longer this goes on the more I'm concerned about their intentions, BPF summed it up earlier with several points about the current status at the rovers, venkys need to belt up and quick
