Gav Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 I think things with kalinic could have been very different if certain goals had Counted when disallowed wrongly. The brilliant turn and finish against spurs and the goal against united. If these had counted it could set him on a goal scoring run with the boost in confidence. Also the sending off at west brom again stopped him in his tracks when his confidence would again have been high. Its been a series of unfortunate incidents which have hampered his rovers career and i think if he goes elsewhere with a strike partner he will bang them in for fun The problem with Kalinic is he can't speak the language, and as a result of that doesn't mix well with his team mates. As a highly paid professional footballer you'd expect him to at least put in the effort to speak the lingo, and after 2yrs he's no excuses. For that fact alone I'd have him out, its pathetic and lazy.

Athlete Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Good for them and I hope they make it work. Shame that the rest of the football clubs dont do something similar because there is no doubt at all that since football agents were invented transfer costs and players wages have not just spiraled out of control, they have gone completely insane and are a MAJOR reason for the increasing costs of owning a football club. unfortunately agents are a fact of life in football and it works 2 ways for the club and for the players......as for venkys doing it themselves this circus gets more hilarious by the day speaking to people out and about in town last night all had the same opinion '' the clubs a joke , no one believes anything venbkys come out with any more and quite a few now refusing to go down Ewood whilst these clowns are running the club ''

In places like market cafes and pubs, Venky's aren't spoken of very highly at all. Prefer one proven to be useless then would you? How is he proven? The guy from the Danish league is anything but. Carlton Cole may be useless but he does chip in with a few goals. Although I'd like neither of the above, I can see the logic in Carlton Cole for £6m over the top scorer in the Danish league for a lot more.
nicko Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Just to clear up something that is apparently being misunderstood. 1...Dnipro want to buy Kalinic at £4 million. They went in for him last week. 2...However Rovers have already issued a mandate at £12 million to agent Pini Zahavi in a bid to get more for Kalinic. So Rovers CANNOT sell Kalinic for any less until the mandate runs out. That is why BOTH stories are correct and accurate. Bye.
philipl Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 I suspect Nicko is attempting to show the owners that it might be better having him inside the tent peeing out If nicko were really on the outside peeing in, the tent would be pitched Three problems come to mind thinking about Rao minor and Jaoa the enthusiastic Brazilian chicken salesman training up to be football agents: - licenses? - the window closes seven weeks from now and it will probably take them that long just to read the all the various regulations and legislation involved in moving players between countries - would the other agents or clubs take them seriously (when they have finished laughing)?

Do you honestly think that Venkys will realise you need a license? I thought I knew you better Philip
philipl Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Do you honestly think that Venkys will realise you need a license? I thought I knew you better Philip They will solve that one by sacking the person who gives them the application form.
Ricky Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 £12m = deluded If he was worth £12m we'd be playing him. I'd take the £4m with a hefty sell on clause. Got a feeling he may make it elsewhere.
Veevs Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 It does sound unlikely that Venkys will be able to grow their own agents, but if true, I applaud them for being the first owners to take a stand on agents' fees. Been tried and failed.. plus the key here this is the clubs agents not the player agents, both earn a fair whack but the latter can't be touched. If Venkys have issued a mandate to Zahavi then what fools, that means we are stuck with the agent and price... what a brilliant move pay an agent to sell a player at a stupid price.. wonder how much that cost us... creating their own agents sounds like a grumpy reaction to yet another mistake. Clubs agents try to get the player at the right price/contract and try to sell players (at the clubs request) for the best price. Players agents try to sell the player to other clubs when they want out and get the best wage packet/overall deal based on the players requirements. Growing your own (club agents) is nigh on impossible and very risky, after all you are giving allot of power to people without the established contacts and negotiating power etc that many of these agents have. Can't stand them but I guess they must be a necessary evil.. they have to have a certain knowledge (prices, wage structures, cash availability, market movements etc) and experience (negotiating experience, contacts etc) level to be effective. On a side note these tend to be the chaps that leak 90% of the transfer rumours.. and more than half are complete rubbish to push up prices (for club or player), increase contract offers or simply to speed the process up.
Bennisfromheaven Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Good to see you back Nicko, your input, whether it be true or false is always appreciated!!!
Tooogs Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 The resurrection of Nicko! So... what have you got for us? We are hungry for news. Anything... make it up if you want!
2PAC 4 Blackburn Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Can we get this thread back on topic? Mods, you need to tighten up with the rubbish posted, it's very hard to read this thread now. About 2% of it is transfer related. Thanks

WITSEL...Benfica hoping to do the deal tomorrow...[thought that one was made up]...not agreed the final details of the fee...Rovers were considering a low bid or even asking for him on loan [that's a 'you couldn't make it up' moment]. MIRANDA...Atletico Madrid player tomorrow. MONGONGU...maybe in for talks this week, maybe not. TRIALIST...oh dear. KEANE...price dropping...hope the committee knows. AGENTS...quite clearly no longer the Kentaro and SEM domination that was [although that will no doubt be contradicted]. FAMILY AND FRIENDS...yes, there is an idea to use a Venky or two to do future deals...my oh my...

You seem to be on a real downer about Rovers at the moment, and you are certainly grown up, and thick skinned, enough to put up with a few comments from people on a messageboard? Lost a key source due to all the changes being made?

chaddyrovers Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Maybe a bid for Keane is on? why not go for a Long/Keane striker partnership? play well together for Ireland
chaddyrovers Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 have the owners and Kean sorting out the transfer budget to spend on players and wages yet? Nicko, are you saying that Kentaro/sem have ended the partnership with the owners?
nicko Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Lost a key source due to all the changes being made? Hardly. Seem to be be getting more stories than ever at the moment. Probably a reflection of the state of utter chaos. Who is in talks with Bendtner? Sometimes you just leave people off trips to give them the message. Look what Man City are doing with their leper colony. And nobody is backing a 'next club' on Skybet which is usually the best steer of all. The big chap has not got a move by the looks.

In other words we are a shambles with possibly want away owners who want to spend little or nothing on the club, they are more interested in opening a bloody academy in Pune.
Black Burn Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 In other words we are a shambles with possibly want away owners who want to spend little or nothing on the club, they are more interested in opening a bloody academy in Pune. If they want to sell Blackburn Rovers or spend little or nothing on the club, they probably wouldn't succeed in opening an academy in Pune. No point opening an academy in India if you can't even get the first team or main club sorted out.

Talking about opening an academy, talking about bringing in family and friends to do deals, talking about a new chairman when he is old enough to drive... Plenty of talk all right.
Oklahoma Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Nicko, glad to see you back and no, I'm not being ironic. A few days ago I contradicted one of your newspaper stories as being untrue. Here in Portugal, initially there were only reports of the Witsel story taken from a belgium newspaper. Even the newspaper that "supports" benfica (A Bola), made it clear it was not their story. And most Benfica fans thought it was fake because Witsel shouldn't be a priority and Benfica doesn't have that much money. After Coentrao left, Benfica need a left back (aparently it will be brazilian Alex Sandro from Santos for €8.5 million) and they also made a €10 million offer for Danilo. So, most benfica fans thought it was just another fake story that was in the press. Honestly, I can't see where the money is coming from. Anyway. sorry if I was too hard on you, it seems you were correct even though it is not a done deal yet and Rovers could still get in if the board was working properly (and it seems now it will take €10 million to buy Witsel).
