We should be all over this

MirrorFootball MirrorFootball

Breaking: Wolves have agreed a £7m fee with Birmingham for Roger Johnson (source: PA)

If we have £7 million to spend on a single player then a central midfielder or a striker is far more pressing.

Given the tight funds I don't think we can afford to spend money on a centre back given that we have depth there anyway.

No, Hughesy's magical calculator, which also tells him what salary each player is on. Ask him.

I don't think we should sell Kalanic until we get a replacement in.

That DR Congo fella from Monaco, will he be Jones' replacement?

I always thought he had a magic keyboard

Its just bought a new deep fat frier for the new rovers in pune venky xprs

Surely, (50 million rumours aside) we must have at least £16m? (Jones cash)...

Nicko, and others, had said it wasn't all at once, but a staggered payment.

A point that most overlooked or ignored because the brightness of the fantastic is more easy to see what you want by than the dimness of reality.

Haha. Yes, I did forget about the not all at once nature of transfer fees! :P

Didn't he also say that it's the norm for transfer nowadays?

If that is so, then we'll be paying clubs in the same manner, therefore we have at least £16 million for transfers.

No excuses!

Then no deal – why should we be pushed around? We all know they over value their players anyway.

Now is a time that we stood up to clubs about what we value OUR players at. Samba no less than £16m….he is a better central defender (currently) than Jones who went for £16.5m rising to £20m and he is better than Cahill who is rated @ £17m.

Pavluchenko or Defoe £9m, Palacios £10m, Bassong £4m = £23m

So like I said Samba (£16m) + £7m for the above – worth a try.

I have read that there's one of those clauses in Samba's contract and its 12m. No idea whether its true or not.

Didn't Bentley say he has family in the area when he signed for us? He could be visiting a relative IF it's true.

He has family in Rochdale I believe.

He also said he supported Spurs as a boy, oh yes and Man Utd.......... ;)

Tells fibs that one.

You would imagine Samba to have a clause in his contract, but I'm sure ive read he doesn't, possible in The Telegraph?

If one of your competitors were over a barrel would you offer them a payment plan?

I wouldn't.

Its all well and good agreeing to such a plan with the likes of Man U etc, because they have a squad of a huge size already.

Also with the rumors going around at the moment I wouldn't trust the owners enough for a lease on a car under the name Blackburn Rovers

Do we not value our very own Kalinic at 12 million

but we know how great he is going to be, they don't see him in training smashing them balls into the empty net without a goalkeeper just so he can remember what it is like to see a ball hit the back of the net.

If they knew all of this, then we would get 12 million easy, sadly his lack of first team football and the fact he looks like he is playing on ice could affect our "realistic" 12 million price tag.

He also said he supported Spurs as a boy, oh yes and Man Utd.......... ;)

surely everyone supported ManU or Liverpool as a kid until their fathers force them to support Black burn or another team and told them Father Christams had run out of Liverpool Shirts and only had Blackburn rovers and England shirts left..............or was that just me.

It doesn't matter though does it?

It can still be used as a guaranteed future income.

No dramas

Am i the only one who thinks that 7 million quid for 28 YO defender who has been part of a back 4 that got relegated is still far too much? While Samba is still a rovers player we don't need him and to be honest i'd rather take a 2 million gamble on 22 year old Mongongu and save "funds" for more important areas.
