nicko Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 With our owners wanting to be their own agents - (how feesible that is, is another subject) - would not the transfer of any player be a lot harder now. Wonder if you could clarify this news about venkys and family members being agents. Is that a plan for this transfer window or for later on in their ownership? I don't think you could get a licence in time to work in this window. I know that is the long-term plan. So they are obviously planning to stay.

chaddyrovers Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 are they any Strikers we are looking at to sign? We need 2 centre backs if Samba leaves or 1 centre back and 1 left back if Givet is going to play more as a centre back. Also need 1 midfielder maybe 2 if Grella or Andrews or Pedersen leaves. Also need 2 strikers at least and NOT Benjani! Plus we need to sign Hoilett on a five year contract! You weren't joking when you said were scrapping the barrel. Giving a trial to a player released by Hibernian and now playing for Glen Hoddle Academy. Just to throw in abit of controversial debate he is also on SEM's books There is nothing wrong with us having a look at him. Didn't one of the player who was at Glenn Hoddle academy sign for Sevilla. Here is what Glenn Hoddle say about him http://www.glennhoddleacademy.com/fergus_bell_signs_up_with_gha.html
niggit Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 With or without Benjani, don't think we need 2 strikers, not unless Kalinic goes and Benjani does not come back.
walk down bolton road Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I believe the owners are looking for very significantly more than £12m for Samba and would dig in hard to get it. This could be a rare case where player(s) could move in the opposite direction as Harry has a list which are undoubtedly PL quality and are on not totally unreasonable wages within the Spurs system. Palacios is a player who has played in the north west and is not in favour at WHL. Arsenal are not yet even at the race course so far as Rovers concerned irrespective of whatever smooching has been going on involving the player's connections. For me Huddlestone and the young full back Rose.Playmaker position filled and 1 fullback position sorted, also wages should be in range.
nicko Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 so nicko, same sh*t, different day. Funnily enough, no.
True Blue & White Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 With Stoke signing Woodgate, there are now only 4 clubs in the EPL that have yet to sign anyone (us, QPR, Villa and Chelsea).
tugay5 Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I really feel we are missing a trick if we don't move for witsel. Nicko do you know if the player prefers a move to the prem rather than benfica? Are we likely to make another move for witsel?
bennyboyt11 Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Stoke have seven centre backs now, should be a funny formation for them next season! Also at least there's some promising news now regarding the transfer policy, unless I'm mistaken it sounds like things are a lot less confused now.
Makey11 Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 You weren't joking when you said were scrapping the barrel. Giving a trial to a player released by Hibernian and now playing for Glen Hoddle Academy. Just to throw in abit of controversial debate he is also on SEM's books I believe he was brought in by jerome Anderson.... With rovers staff unaware of this.......hope this isn't the case all summer :/
rebelmswar Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 You weren't joking when you said were scrapping the barrel. Giving a trial to a player released by Hibernian and now playing for Glen Hoddle Academy. Just to throw in abit of controversial debate he is also on SEM's books I am seeing a trend here - Scottish, not wanted by their parent club, SEM... Are these Kean targets? Funnily enough, no. So it is different crap, different day.
Kamy100 Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I am also led to believe that Mrs D is personally taking charge of transfer's.
rebelmswar Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I am also led to believe that Mrs D is personally taking charge of transfer's. Should I be happy? Because right now I am feeling slightly uneasy, verging on abject terror.
imy9 Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Kamy-does that mean that Mrs D has the final say on transfers?
Roost Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I am also led to believe that Mrs D is personally taking charge of transfer's. Great. Every time I think things cant get worse, they do. Taking charge of what? Targets, transfer fees, wages, contracts? God help us.
Kamy100 Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Should I be happy? Because right now I am feeling slightly uneasy, verging on abject terror. Best get ready for a rollercoaster ride. If she gets things right it will be a masterstroke, if not, well the consequences will be disastrous! Kamy-does that mean that Mrs D has the final say on transfers? I believe she will have a say on all aspects of transfer dealings.

den Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I am also led to believe that Mrs D is personally taking charge of transfer's. Fantastic. I challenge anyone to make a positive out of that.
Kelbo Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 God help us please!! Its like Jaws, just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water and the stupidity of the comments from Pune disappeared, here we go again, the football world will have a field day if this is true.
Mattyblue Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 wait for: 'Mrs Desai is an accomplished businesswoman yada yada'
NookRover Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I am also led to believe that Mrs D is personally taking charge of transfer's. Somebody has to!
brian_gallagher85 Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 She strikes me as the lesser of 3 evils (the Venky siblings) so I'm cautiously pleased by this news. If nothing else it points to us potentially signing somebody!
Kamy100 Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Apparently she is a very good negotiator and to be fair to her she did say few months ago that Kentaro's role would be diminish over time, maybe this the start of that process.
roverandout Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 nicko, are you saying something is happening then?
