Spurs are no mugs when it comes to valuations and negotiations. The idea of taking them for a ride with player exchanges is an optimistic one at best. I'd imgainge that they value Samba and Palacios pretty much equally, for example.

£8m is a pretty decent fee for a player of Longs quality. Having seen him quite a bit for club and country over the last 6 months I can see the lad having a very good future ahead of him.

Would very much doubt it. Historically, football clubs have tried to rip the arse out out the brewers on pouring rights' requirements (cash up front), purchase price and mandatory corporate facilities. Even the biggest of 'UK' brewers have become increasingly reticent.
