vintageadidas Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Season Ticket sales are down by circa 20% as of this time. Real work has been done to try and acquire some talent but the constant messing around has forced some agents to not answer calls from our Club!

Blue n White Rover Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Its a start. ..and its something I'd love to see in the paper. That won't sell papers. However, talking about which targets we have identified will.
67splitscreen Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Nicko, has Caciedo any offers for this season. What would he cost, IYO, wages?.
nicko Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Ok, as 'vague' is the word of the day... Here is a vague bit of news and a vague attempt to crash the site. A player was at the club yesterday to discuss a transfer... Leave it with you, got a story to write.
john.leigh Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 While Benjani re-signing is not exciting I'm not too disappointed - I'm even tempted to think we might actually be paying him LESS than last season! I've no idea what he was on before but would be amazed if it wasn't more than the rumoured 5K a week IMO where the club went wrong was in announcing that he has not been offered a renewal & then a few weeks later we turn round and sign him up again - either he was good enough before or he wasn't... If it had just been announced as a continuation, or that Rovers had taken up the opportunity to extend then I don't think there would have been any fuss - but I think we might have actually come out of the whole thing actually better off by doing it this way. To carry on with the night club analogy that was raised earlier when the slow music started Benjani went looking for a better offer, but now the lights are starting to come up he's come back to us and been told he'll have to buy his own drinks from here in...
nicko Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Its a start. ..and its something I'd love to see in the paper. You are clearly not reading the right ones.
67splitscreen Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Caicedo was bought by Levante, I believe. Still a City player according to their official site. He was loaned to them, a couple of Russian clubs were sniffing but nothing happened. I asked as I think he would be a good partner for Defoe if that one came off.
budha Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Caicedo was bought by Levante, I believe. For a price fixed (€1M) agreed before the loan spell just to flog him for profit right after (€10M+).
cruz Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I'm rather bemused by the spleen venting towards Benjani. He's a rainy day squad filler on a low wage. Yes we need the cherries for the cake but we also need eggs and butter

47er Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 exactl I'm telling you if Dalglish was Manager, if we had a top manager, thats a massive attraction. Kean is a bit like an ugly bloke in a night club, not really going to get the best girls unless he asks them all and one is drunk enough. The best managers have personality*, they can be funny or serious or angry but they are compelling. Kean has no personality at all. There is no reason to listen to him. He is totally bland which befits the PR spin cliches he comes out with. *Apart from Alf Ramsey.
dubdubdub Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I wasn't counting when you were hitting for other teams. Fair play to you though, even though it hurt me deeply when you were pinch hitting for Burnley. I think your Baez line is quite correct but the club are as afraid to admit such things, much like Mr. Moss and his love of fizzy water and bath salts. I personally like the lad. Had reservations when we signed him before but he does his job and doesn't moan. Will do a job as impact player. As do I. Man's a work horse (and not a bad player...don't mention that though or you'll be lambasted).
Neal Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Don't intend to start the guessing game but i'd like it to be Bentley, Vagner Love or Jo at City. Any of those would perk me right up but i have feeling that said player is someone worse. I am usually pretty optimistic, this messageboard must be wearing me down. Ha! I was right!
Gladiator Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I'm just wondering Nicko, why you have to say that a player was at Rovers yesterday for talks, then you wait for all the fans to comment asking you who it is, before stating that it's a free agent striker. Why not just say that in the first place? Is it a 'need' to feel loved?
Blue n White Rover Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Think that is a pretty clear sign. That Nasri will be playing for Rovers next season... Nicko, you've been on this board long enough, how would you say the player will go down with majority of the members? Also, do you know the length of the contract we will be offering him? That usually is a good indicator as to how Rovers see the player.
gumboots Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Errr, shouldn't we find out who this is first before we totally write it off? So where's the list of free foreign strikers who aren't too big headed to come to Rovers, don't mind playing for our manager, and might/might not be rubbish?
Roberto Policano Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 That Nasri will be playing for Rovers next season... Has to be City now surely after what Alex said.
yoda Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 A squillion pages later and have we signed anyone? have we (Please don't use that word again) as like some one is taking the ######
