EWOODACE1 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 this is no way a message having a go but i would just like clarity on this thread. i posted something that roberts mentioned on twitter about a new player at training today and it was deleted. i would just like to know what that thread is for as that to me seemed very viable. you can delete this as it is ot but maybe put a guideline post within this thread

jim mk2 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Bringing in this Pavone chap, when your number one striker is Jason Roberts, is like spraying a turd with Old Spice. Thanks for making me laugh.
den Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Den, I would think that the groundswell of anger towards Kean and Venkys et al if no decent players are signed will see angry scenes at the Wolves game, never mind Sep 1st. Thanks WWWM. You could well be right there. Anyway, like I said yesterday, we will definately bring players in, but I'm not sure of the quality. Looks like my fears are being realised earlier than I expected.
leerovers1980 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 maybe the signing of Mariano Pavone is a way of freeing up cash for a big cash deal for a the main striker we need like cisse or defoe, maybe I'm just dreaming but you never know, but I'm seeing this signing as the end of santa cruz coming to rovers
rebelmswar Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 When it does close it'll be like that scene in the Simpsons when cartoons get banned and we all emerge blinking into the sunlight and begin to play jump-rope with each other! Nah, I fear it will be more like the ending of Frankenstein.

huglorenzo Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Take it or leave it pal. But a certain meeting took place today and the situation was clarified...to some extent! So Slough I invite you to ignore me, I may be vague but I don't lie! Give us a clue on this, it's surely only fair that we know whats going on, what meeting, between whom and why will we be lucky to see the money? have venky's pocketed it? are venky's in financial trouble/ give us a bit more than that, what exactly does it concern?
Craigman Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I think the money from the sale of P Jones has already been used on the salary for Roque whilst on loan and the contract extensions to a number of players since Venkys took over, and agents fees, sacking of Allardyce.
True Blue & White Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Nah, I fear it will be more like the ending of Frankenstein. More like circa 8:15 am in the city of Hiroshima on August 6th 1945.

47er Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 You guys that said give 'em 'til 1st Sept - what you going to do then? Join the mass hysteria of those with an agenda!

It wouldn't surprise me. If that's where the money has indeed gone I wonder those who were praising the club for giving Roberts, Salgado and Nelsen new contracts as well as that waste of Pedersen think now.
booth Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Join the mass hysteria of those with an agenda! Haha, those with an agenda of wanting their football club to do well
jim mk2 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Rovers supporters took no prisoners in their dawn raid on an Indian chicken farm.
HemelRover Posted July 12, 2011 Author Posted July 12, 2011 Oh, and I'm sure knocking Salgado on this message board is against the rules... If its not against the rules then it must be close to suicide. Salgado will get you!
47er Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Clearly there is a transfer strategy in place. We are going for all the squad players first (and every club needs these 4th and 5th choice players), then, WHAM, we're gonna whip the cheque-book out in the last week of the window and bust the bank. My, are you guys who think the Raos have no money gonna look stupid!
RibbleValleyRover Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I am still open about the money being there but surely Venky's must realise if you sell one of your best players for £16m the fans are going to expect to see a chunk of that being spent on players. Even under the trust (who I was critical of) they put some of the money in when we sold a Bentley or a Roque. With all this talk of free transfers what are fans supposed to think? What was it I was reading about season ticket sales are around 20% down? Granted there is still time to close the gap but I expect some fans are holding out to see what happens in the transfer market. A bunch of free signings aint going to help that.

riverside returns Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 there is no money to spend, just face facts. They are out of their depth and have no clue. Walker trust wasnt stupid

Hi Mack Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I didn't think about it until someone said.....I think the fact rovers haven't got a sponsor yet is damaging! The income was going to fill a hole but as there has Been no confirmed sponsor the PJ money may have filled this certain hole(bank loan or something along those lines) I can't say for certain why we have relatively little money, but I do know that people hoping for a big signing (like myself) can forget about it for the time being! That Said Venkys have changed their mind before.....a few times infact!
