Blackburn Rovers football club would like to assure all supporters that the owners (Venky's) remain as passionate and committed to the club as ever.

The owners vehemently refute any suggestions to the contrary and are continuing to work hard to push the club forward through a strategy based around systematic growth.

Well that's that then!

The problem is that few people now believe a word that the owners say. They promise a great deal but the delivery is somewhat different. I suspect there are a growing number of fans who hope that this is yet another promise that they fail to deliver.

No doubt you can read, (and which is unusual for many posters on here) you have an appreciation of grammar.

Not denying what you have quoted, but if the quote is not the truth......or the "exact" truth... what then?

Lukey, that statement says nothing. As was pointed out in the podcast, it's basically a holding statement

That is based on the fact that:

A: Venky's know what they are doing (which they dont)

B: They always tell the truth (which they dont)

C: They have managed to secure our best players to long contracts (which they have have'nt) YET.

D: They were going to invest the PJ money back into the club (which does'nt seem likely)

E: They have a good business model (which seems to be let all the staff go and not replace them)

I am a firm believer on not judging people too early however all the talk of transfer lists being changed and the bad business management of the club including staff and sponsors to me suggests the are not acting in the clubs best interest, only their own, time is running out for Venky's because from the day they took over our club we have been on a downward spiral on and off the pitch.

I'm getting very fed up with this "I heard ... " stuff. Either you stop talking bad about the club, or you tell us all you know, with sources, and arrange a frickin' protest!!!!

A good journalist is very very unlikely to give out who their source is. You may not know that there people on here who are journalists - not just Nicko. We all have a choice to believe or not to believe what those 'in the know' post. But just a thought, but there have been quite a few posters over the past few months saying things are not going that well at the club. We have seen staff leave - major staff, who were in important positions, who have not been replaced. Chairman, and recently the Dr. These have all been pushed overboard or jumped ship themsleves.

We have seen the reported large transfer kitty now dwindled down to freebies and loans. The transfer stategy is now a confusing picture. There was a list A, then B now to no list at all and everything done by committee meeting. A lot of stuff like this has come from those who are 'in the know'. Some believed it, some mocked it and slaughtered the messangers. But these folk cannot reveal their sources and none of us should expect them to do so.

I think what PAFELL is saying above makes a lot of sense.

However, that doesn't make it any less frustrating to read a 'I know summat you don't know and it's BAAAAAAAD' type post.

I think the clamour from certain posters that the doomsayers 'NAME SOURCES' is ridiculous and is bordering on meme status just like 'Nicko, tell me some news'.

It's just that we're all concerned fans. When somebody dangles a carrot of information but won't let you bite (especially when it's bad news) it's hard not to fel worried and maybe a little bit angry.

Messengers have been shot, so to speak, since time immemorial. Doesn't make it right though.

A good journalist would back their stories up with some kind of evidence, quote or picture though. What we got on here is the odd "I know a guy within the club, and he said we are in deep trouble with no money."

For this to have any substance, you have to back that statement up with either a track record of things this guy has said in the past, what position he has got within the club, or something else that build credibility. And if these sad stories ARE in fact true, then these "journalists" should have some balls and set up a protest or something, so that the club can be saved. Doing nothing only makes it worse!

Speedie, give it away.

I haven't given up on Venkeys.

It may come good.

I will remain positive, whatever.

Sorry Dave, it's not the defending of Venkys that is the issue, still on the fence myself at the moment (it's wavering though). I just literally noticed posters who had joined in the last month going positively OTT about them.

OK Speedie, understand.

I must admit, I'm waiting for the "killer blow" too. I want them to make "the" signing, just to say that "the Rovers are back"

Whether it happens, I don't know. I just hope it does.

It looks increasingly likely those people were correct from the beginning. Hard to take isn't it GAV ?

FFS! Have the moderators given up? There is a thread for Venky discussion, this is Transfers! Every time I check this thread I'm wasting my time because there it is so off topic....

Also the drama and paranoia here is too much to take at times, and this is coming from a Scandinavian. I thought we were the depressed ones, but this forum is like reading 1984.

We have no money, we have been tricked

You don't know whether you are coming or going pal!

Was it not only a few weeks ago you posted telling everyone to give Kean a chance? Then all of a sudden you go against the Owners. Make your mind up!

I for one am equally as frustrated as those who want Venky's out, however we have to give them time regardless of how much we have left.

YES they have made rash decisions. Currently, and I stress the word currently, those decisions have been very poor. However, these "mistakes" can easily be rectified.

Nobody wants big name players, we'd all be very happy with decent £5m-ish players. This is very much capable so as long as we get our act together.

Yes time is running out and pre-season has started, yes we have heard a mixture of noises coming from Ewood and Pune, but that does not mean we turn against them or expect BIG.

Patience is a virtue. I am as worried as every other Rovers fan, but negativity and expecting instant signings will not help the club. It's a time we need to get together and support the Owners.

Relax.

Nothings been proven either way yet Jim, but you're right, its looking likely that Venkys are taking us for a ride.

As for people being right, most opposed the owners from day one, so built opinions without substance or foundation, hardly an exact science.

Not true.

On here, most gave them a chance.

At the game it was the same, I was at Bolton not just before Sam was canned. There were chicken hats being sported in the stands and talking to people in the pubs beforehand and a the game, people were genuinely excited.

Many were also happy to give them a chance to right their wrongs this summer, speaking personally after the ST price freeze and the seemingly tough line they took with Man Utd over Jones plus the supposed transfer budget, I felt we could be on to something.

Alas, it seems to be a false dawn and I for one am not crowing about it.

The way things are going it is looking increasingly like the venky boys and their mother are not looking to invest in the club re transfers, merely to remove cash from the pot of gold and pay lipservice to their intention of improving our squad and prospects for the new season.I sincerely hope this is not the case and we will get decent signings soon.
