Summer 2011 Transfer Window - Part 3.

Fair point Chris, the negatives can be turned into positives & had only one or two of the above been the case then I would have spun them as positives myself but there is a pattern emerging!!

The main point in the context of this thread is that we need players, we need quality players, you need to spend money on quality players & we have not spent a penny yet!!

My message to the owners is stop talking about long term plans, European football, cup runs, marquee signings etc. & prove to your supporters that you are worthy of our support!!

I don't know about this. I'm not talking about you specifically, but this thread had always been like this:

"We're never going to sign any players this window! Our squad will remain the same when the transfer window ends and we'll be relegated! Kean will never be able to attract ANY players to our club! Where did the Phil Jones money go? Venkys promised us cash but are pocketing the money!"

Then when Pavone signing looks imminent, Mongungu comes in for 2.5 million, it changed into: "We're only looking for freebies and cheap players! These players are rubbish, we should be adding quality to the squad, not signing horrible players! Where's the Phil Jones money? Venkys are pocketing the cash!"

I wonder what happen even after Onuoha signs. Would the criticisms still come, or will at least some people be convinced? I bet there will still be fans crying, "we don't need a defender! We need a quality striker! Don't splash the cash on a defender, you're wasting it! Save it for a quality striker instead!"

And if we do get a quality striker, maybe it would change to "he's too old, shouldn't have signed him. What are Kean and Venkys thinking?"

I do hope I'm wrong about this. :D

i think i have got it, its the lad from nottingham forest, macgugan, nicko keeps mentioning trees and branches etc, very subtle hints.

I hope so but I feel if it was a player from an English club the news would have got out

Is he the one with the tendancy to score ridiculous goals? Hammered in a free kick once?

THE OH DEAR TRIALIST...was Fergus Bell.

THE TREE REFERENCE...was a joke.

THE OTHER VISITORS...are a player and his brother who is a manager...hence the confusion on names and what they do.

ONUOHA...checked with two more people today...his agent was somewhere else yesterday...and my crap sources at the club say 'no.'

Booo I was hoping it was Mcgugan.

I wonder how many people are now frantically searching for players with manager brothers.

If we sign Onuha I will be delighted, and with maybe this Congolese player (M-something?) as well as keeping Samba our defence will be a good one this season. Of course, we need a goal-machine and a creative midfielder.

Will we get it? Doesnt seem like it, freebies and such, hardly anything to be exited about is it! =/

who's fergus bell??

now i know who he is.

no offence to the lad, but this is the level that we are at now, have been for a while and will be, for a while. i am ready to admit that i have been rather outspoken about venkys and in reflection some rather harsh comments from myself , with regard to everything they have accomplished since they bought rovers......but that being said, the best way i can describe them is that they are all talk and no trousers with regard to the transfer market.

So either Leerovers and Preston Blue's sources are lying to them, or your sources didn't hear anything concerning Onuoha?

But as you said, you would be only mildly surprised if the deal does go through, so it's not an impossibility?

A manager of a team or his manager/agent?

I dont think you can comment on how patterns on this board have transpired since you have only been here a month

My pattern has always been very positive with regard the club, its signings, the trust & up until recently the Rao's

I have always given players time & I am even in the "Kalanic will come good" brigade

However, I feel the tide is turning, i cannot say I can trust the owners as until now they have given me no reason to!!

As it stands we have signed NO ONE!!!

Forget any speculation, imminent arrivals or near misses, we have NO ONE!!

We need to replace two key members of our first team along with filling the gaps that were empty last year

We have let 2/3 of the summer pass without signing any one & this is worrying me!!

I will be the first to give you credit if we get a few decent signings in but I am very pessimistic!!

Don't take me seriously, I wasn't aiming at you specifically like I said. Just commenting on the general consensus.

I'm afraid I'm a member for only a month, but I've been lurking here since last year shortly after Venkys took over. But don't mind me.

I mean no offense, so please don't hold it against me.

No offence taken & I no you are not just aiming at me but since my post was used for your argument I felt I should explain my thoughts

We are on a discussions forum & that is what we are doing!!

Nah, I think your thoughts are justified.

If Venkys want supporters to trust them, they should earn it. It's pretty much what I believe to be common sense.

While there seem to be encouraging signs that they are making progress with signings, the fact is, as of now, they haven't succeeded yet.

I do hope they succeed though.
