cos cryer nicked the pavone story, i broke it on here.. nicko did all the work for the mirror piece. plus i know how cryer he goes about his work.

Is the player to be revealed tonight another free ?

the difference this season betweeen success or another struggle is going to be largely upon having a goal scorer. If we dont get a good one then all the best cuz this is going to be another season of struggles

No you didn't someone revealed the name before you did. Should stories only appear in one paper these days?

Anyway I was hoping we made some signings before saturday as it would have been good to see them but that isn't going to happen now :(

To be fair a number of people guessed but Zac confirmed it followed by Nicko backing him up.

It seems that he too enjoyed listening to the blog. I notice he can see in to the future too.

Down in London with my Spurs colleagues again this week and they are saying Kean and Bentley +£££ = Samba.

One thing is for certain, nothing is certain at the minute.

Interesting news that Rodrigo Baez (the young Paraguay U17 chap) has NOTsigned despite reports he has.

He had a trial, he came and went and has not been given a contract.

Eh? I thought that was done and dusted? I may be wrong but i thought i also read it on www.rovers.co.uk.

Thats weird.

the name couldve been revealed around 5pm yesterday, but out of professionalism, i refrained from posting til 10pm as i'd agreed to. the other person, didnt add the info about the 2nd medical though did they! ;)

Sky are the barons of robbing tales like that. To be fair, their transfer ticker tape is pretty decent. Even if a lot of the stuff is a bit old. At least they break it down into 'confirmed', 'speculation' etc.

The most recent party line is that it will be.

We shall see.

Too many good players have been missed. Piatti was a disgrace, Witsel was very hard to take.

I don't think there is a cohesive team to spend the money - if it was all there.

I could go on, but it just winds me up.

Hard enough concentrating on what is happening in terms of comings and goings without going into what might be - or what should be - and trying to make sense of it.

Just to say, Skysports.com has nothing to do with SSN... Skysports.com is based in Leeds for a start whilst SSN is in London, and SSN never use Skysports.com's 'sources'...

....Now back to the tittle-tattle!!

Nicko, is there any chance of Defoe coming to rovers or will he cost too much???

The one thing we need is a goalscorer next season if we are going to get into the top 10 this season.

Forwhat its worth, I have heard Defoe doesnt want to come to Rovers!

One good thing about the internet is that you can check the time a story comes out.

Nobody knew the first thing about Pavone, who had been here since Monday morning. Remarkable. Quite reassuring too.

The minute it comes out in the Mirror [11pm], suddenly the local paper puts a story out [11.20 pm, not happened often, has it?] and the Daily Mail [at 11.50pm] and Sun follow up too.

Watch it again tonight.

This is why you returned so quickly Alan. This board is like a drug for you isn't it? I've a feeling that it satiates your need for recognition and allows you to jerk all sorts of press and media chains at will.

There are times when you feel like you are in a comedy sketch.

The guy I stumbled on yesterday has been confirmed to me. I trust the source and he wouldn't need to lie. However I am hearing the chap may not be fit enough to sign.

And in the meantime there seems to be abother trialist in. No idea about this one. It could be a Chinese whisper started by people asking questions on here.

A rather puzzling bottom line though...why has Pavone not been announced? And has Mongongu come - if not why not. As for Baez, his club say the deal is done. But nothing is what it seems round these parts just now.
