This is why you returned so quickly Alan. This board is like a drug for you isn't it? I've a feeling that it satiates your need for recognition and allows you to jerk all sorts of press and media chains at will.

A psychologist now, as well as an expert golfer and political theorist.

Impressed.

Too many good players have been missed. Piatti was a disgrace, Witsel was very hard to take

Totally agree nicko. We missed out on 2 real talents there. Surely piatti would have opted for Valencia over us anyway tho?

I'd report this for being off topic.

But the hypocrisy present in the post is currently keeping me amused.

On transfers, the I find the Pavone story encouraging, if a tad underwhelming.

It harks back to the days when we'd hear nothing for weeks and a player that nobody was expecting would suddenly appear on the club website, holding up a shirt.

So he's not the multi-million signing we were all hoping for, but if he wants to come and can score goals (the record stated in the LT article was not anywhere near as bad as some are making out), I'm all for it. If Roberts scored a hat-trick today, anything can happen.

And in the meantime there seems to be abother trialist in. No idea about this one. It could be a Chinese whisper started by people asking questions on here.

Welcome home Bobo! :P

I have watched Pavone twice with Betis and also on video, he doesnt appear to be too bad a player IMO, strikes a ball well with either foot (unlike the one footed Maradonna!!) and if you look at the video posted on here, despite favouring his left foot, pulled a ball out of the air with his right foot and scored with his left, doesnt appear to be a slouch either, a little bit of pace so he may not be a bad signing, thats my opinion from what I have seen, maybe I am wrong but I see something about him which encourages me and given Venkys tenure, the first time I have seen something positive.

Piatti was up for it when Rovers had their 'super list' going. Then his agent did not get a call. Valencia came from nowhere.

You will recall the opposition at the time were Benfica and Udinese, neither of whom put in a proper bid.

A classic example of moving slow and missing out in the transfer market.
