Well its all fantastic if true, but I'm getting to the point of just taking it all with a huge dose of salt as there have been countless players linked and things said with no real way of knowing what is good information and what is bad.

Generally speaking we all seem to be in the dark...

This was obvious to me from the start. Unless the news comes straight from a direct soure at the club, anything else I hear is first class BS to me.

Does anyone remember who first broke the news of Formica, Rochina, Jones and Santa Cruz last season? 10 points for each correct answer.

any news on the rovers front on that one?

Blackburn Rovers has not contacted Piatti at all.

Alan Nixon mentioned that a few pages ago, I think.

Cisse's wages are a stumbling block, so no news on that one either.

Neither are Rovers prepared to pay 4.5 million for an aging Robbie Keane.

Witsel is there to be done, but nobody has made any movement yet.

In short, other than speculation linking us to new players such as Fabiano and Warnock, NOTHING is happening except meetings, dicussions and arguments within Venkys committee.

Though it seems that Kamy mentioned that Mrs. Desai has knocked their heads around and they are getting ready to make a decision.

And my friend said they should be going to contact players and agree contracts next week. But my friend of course isn't as reliable as our big two.

Hernan Perez

He is paraguayan but it's not RSC or Cardozo.

It's Hernan Perez, that wigan and Rovers want...

here what the notw article says:-

"wigan and Blackburn are tracking Paraguay midfielder Hernan Perez. Perez, 22 who plays for Villarreal in Spain, has been tipped to be one of the stars of this month's Copa America. He has already caught of the attention of several European clubs following his outstanding performances in the 2009 South America Youth Championship."

Paraguay play tonight in the copa america so we will see how good he is.

Linked to Jonny Evans in a very vague and possibly unreliable source. My link

Would be a ok signing but I would rather have Onuoha tbh.

shame would love piatti at rovers big fan of spanish footie after living there and that kid is awesome,

as for Keane 4.5m is far too much but at anything around 3m id snap him up(as long as the wages werent crippling)

Cisse would be great from what ive seen but i have to say its not much

Fabiano would be ace if he can get back to anything like the form of his early Sevilla days and i havent seen anything of him since he left and not holding my breath on that one then again i aint getting my hopes up on most targets

lets just hope it all gets cleared up this week and we get some new faces in before Hong Kong!!!! :D

You are not alone.

There are so many people lining up so many different players within the one club that it is verging on the ridiculous.

There might be another name in the paper in the morning.

Don't ask me to analyse or assess - I just can't tell any more.

People are playing at the game right now.

Might as well join in myself...

Probably needs to be read in conjunction with Andy Cryer's round-up which is the closest to a reporter saying there is utter confusion as can be written without wrecking confidences.

There was a low bid made by Rovers for Keane sometime last weekend but that has not been followed up as far as I am aware. Whether that is deliberate or it all got caught up in the abrupt total change in direction on transfers from Rovers early last week, I don't know. Anyone wondering what I am talking about should just track nicko's posts over the last seven days.

Nicko's did he/didn't he and when if he did question about the Kean trip to see Hoilett senior rings alarm bells as well.

Mrs D's credibility for her ability to sort things out is now on the line on this- the situation she stepped into was shambolic.

Folks, I've spent an hour tidying this thread and hardly made a dent. Please remember, if you're only talking about a single target (or somebody that isn't a target at all i.e. Kevin Bloody Nolan, who is now in the I wish thread (as we don't have an I don't wish one)) then use the individual player threads!

defoe and lescott linked now, how many players is that on are list now its getting a joke, maybe with all these guess one paper will get one right eventually

http://footybunker.com/blackburn-rovers-venkys-to-make-summer-move-for-jermain-defoe-and-joleon-lescott/2164

The joke's on you, unfortunately.

That article was posted on 13th April, way before the season ended.

Don't believe everything you read online.

I do find myself saying that ironic because I seem to believe everything Alan Nixon and Kamy are saying. For the record, I respect the information they bring, but I take it with a pinch of salt as opposed to gobbling their tidbits like the gospel.

Just had a look at the complete list of players we have been linked with. Its funny, the two players who are available and are proven premiership performers who are available, we haven't been linked with! I'm talking about Parker and Kranjcar.

If only links were based on fan wishes, BRFCS would ensure Kranjcar was linked every day.

Nothing much is happening anywhere in the football world so what happens? The guys who make their living from selling stories start to make them up. The only sure fact is that Rovers have at last got a few bob to spend. This makes us an obvious target for all the speculation. Let's face it, if the journos can't even work out whether Kean went to Canada or not - they are not likely to know which of the many supposed targets is the real deal.

Maybe Venkys have taken our advice and have severely limited the titbits being thrown to the press and fans? The LT article would suggest this - it tells us how Cryer is going to sort out the fact from the fiction and then does no such thing! It simply lists every name that we have ever been linked with from whatever dubious source. Poor effort IMHO.

Personally, if I was running a club and knowing that a lot of what comes out is made up or, at least, exagerated, I would "create" my own fake stories and see which would come out in the press.

Two main objectives:

- Distract the press from the real players my club is after by allowing the press to connect my club to all diferent players;

- Discover where the moles are. By passing diferent info to diferent people in your staff, you could find out who is the mole there by simply checking the press.

Linked again to Onuoha:

The arrival of Clichy at Wastelands means City will allow £6m-rated defender Nedum Onuoha to leave, with Blackburn a likely destination. (Sunday Times - subscription required)

Would like him here!

and what would you do if you'd publicly stated that you were hoping the ownership of a club would promote the expansion of your main business? Would you perhaps allow yourself to be linked to lots of high-profile players, under the theory that 'any publicity is good publicity'?

I don't agree with that theory.

It might work in some areas but in football it hardly does.

Of course, you would get known around the world but if it is only for bad publicity, it is a bad strategy.

Results is what matters the most. If you get results, you get free publicity worldwide.

In any walk of life, management by committee very rarely works.

To be honest, I did not think that things could get as bad as they seemingly are.

If there was any previous doubt that Kean was a puppet, then surely this has now been removed. No wonder, IMO, that Messrs Allardyce, Williams & Finn were 'sacked' as they, as independently minded and sensible operators, would not have had any truck with this.

One of the most frustrating aspects of all this is that a number of 'sensible' playing options, who undoubtedly would have improved our team, have now moved on.

IMO, our laughing stock status will continue to grow and it's difficult to be optimistic for the coming season.

Who are these "sensible" playing options?

Larsson?

I understand your point about Williams and Finn.

But Allardyce was the manager and if they don't like him, it was their choice to sack him. Although I don't agree with their choice for a replacement, I still think that Sam is an average manager.

If he was that good, how come he ended up in West ham? Surely some of the premier league teams that changed their manager would go after such a "brilliant" manager...
