To be honest I'm wary about allowing myself to get sucked into this but I'll ask you one question and I'd appreciate an honest answer- this supposed interested party;are they worth getting excited about?

Considering they could buy Venkys with their loose change, yes.

At the moment I am of the opinion that things are being held up by an individual desperate not to give up his toy.

Everything points to Venkys staying.

I know who the chaps believe are talking about buying the club. It is their story, I won't spoil their fun. There has been a lot of good homework done.

However I would just warn that the people concerned are in the 'time waster' category.

So focus on what you have and try to pressure them into getting their act together.

It is not too late. But it is getting very close to that point.

I know it's scary and a good majority of you do not wish to believe me, but unless this takeover happens in the next two weeks, we are going down.

I believe you but do you know if there are any interested parties and which of them is reluctant to sell i guess it could be Balaji

The weird thing there are obvious targets out there, Reo Coker for example gets mentioned all the time but it makes sense, it just seems that its true that there is something seriously wrong and we cant afford any premier league wages.

That's the things that I've been saying is very odd. There's been a decent amount of freebie premier league players about, but yet we're scouring other countries. I'm gutted we didn't get Vaughan for example.

It can only mean that we cannot afford the wages, and that is truly worrying. Is it because Venky's don't want to spend because they may be off I'm wondering?

Not heard anything on that position yet. Jedinak was considered. I think that was why Lucas Neill was around last week - he is connected to the guy through his brother-in-law who is his agent.

Palace got him because they have a truly switched-on young manager.

Truth is you need loads of players. Yet you are struggling to even get one in.

I veer between anger and hysterical laughter at the moment.

I'm not getting my hopes up that's for sure on Rovers spending some decent money this window. Got to question where the money has gone if we don't (even under the trust we saw some of it).

We are going to struggle next season on the evidence so far. I guess we just have to hope there are three teams worse than us again.

Thanks for the responses BPF and Nicko.

And there's the rub,two wildly differing takes. Nothing's ever simple in this life is it..

I'm tending towards sticking because it might be a cliche, but the grass is often not greener on the other side.

Irrespective of this Venkys really need to pull their fingers out and show some intent or my good-will towards them will be exsanguinated for good and this is from someone who really has tried to give them a fair crack of the whip.

After the list of players that was talked about a couple of weeks ago we have gone straight to the bargain basement department and scratching around for free agents and cast offs from other clubs. Meanwhile the money from United for Phil Jones, not to mentioned the fabled or should it be imaginary £5 or £10 million that Venkys were going to throw into the pot remains safely tucked away in Pune. Is is any wonder season ticket sales are down? Those of us who go no matter what can only hope that there are three teams worse than us - personally, I beginning to think that there's not much hope of that.

I'd hoped, foolishly, that our transfer strategy would have seen us try to clear out the players on the fringes and add genuine quality to the squad. Instead, it appears that we are adding to those who are on the fringes and what little genuine quality we had is beginning to diminish with the departures of Phil and Jermaines Jones.

If Mrs Desai is taking charge of transfers somebody needs to point out to the woman that the Premier League is no place for novices, be it managers or owners. Somebody, hopefully Kentaro, needs to point out to her that without some quality additions to the squad her investment thus far is rapidly going down the pan.

I for one agree with you BPF.When you run the club like this, not even purchasing players, but getting in free transfer men who at best are journey men, best days have long gone, looking for a payday spells disaster.

This is the transfer policy of the old 3rd Division days, when fair enough we really were skint. But then it was certainly a better run club than the circus in charge now.

You cannot sustain Premier League football on free transfer men.

What happend to the bragging about the Champions League ?.Not with this transfer policy.

Also Mr Steve Kean is awfully quiet in all this so called transfer policy, looks like he really is the boot licker so many said on here, when he was appointed.

Not being funny but who had we signed by this time last season?

Burying your head in the sand here pal.

To judge from the players we are now targetting Mrs Desai has torn up the B-list and C-list and is working her way down the D-list. There is still a nucleus of 4 or 5 good players at the club but they urgently need reinforcements and all the owners appear to be doing at present is swelling squad numbers with ageing foreign players who are unlikely to make any impact. Seeing Rupert Murdoch backing down over the BSkyB bid and Cameron floundering in the Commons brightened up the day but the news from Ewood gets ever more depressing.

I reckon Defoe wouldn't want to come up north. He'd probably even prefer a loan move to QPR.

We will never know unless we try and if he turns us down fair enough, venky's are supposed to be astute business people yet they come across as headless chickens.

we just have to accept another season of mediocrity. God, i hate all this. I was so positive a few weeks ago when nicko was talking about the likes of cisse and piatti and witsel. Cant believe we have sunk to such low standards so quickly. These free transfers will onlt bulk up an already poor squad of players. I cant think of one player bar, robinson, samba, hoilett and ollsson that would get into any other first team in the premiership and im not joking. Thats worrying and only points to one thing.

As we stand nobody at all has signed. Its quite ridiculous, almost scandalous. We are trying to tempt injury prone, ageing, modestly talented journeymen to our squad that have no Premiership experience between them.

The signings in January, Santa Cruz, JJ, Rochina and Formica were far better than anything we've targetted so far this Summer.

We would need a great coach to motivate this bunch to attain safety without threat of relegation - we have Steve Kean.

I'm usually very positive about Rovers but at the moment, the alarm bells are ringing.

Ooooh can we sack him for breach of contract?

Get him off our wage bill?

Makey - if you have a name, spill or at least add some meat to the bones via some clues.

Rip his contract up, if this is true.

Never rated Diouf and was not happy when he signed.

This is the behaviour of a so-called professional?

Not at my club.
