.... and one of the club's few remaining very good footballers is no longer wanted. For all his character faults, Diouf is in a different class as a player to some the dross we are now being associated with.

True in that he is a decent player and there is no way we should be forcing him out. But if he set his mind to it after Sam left there is little that can be done.

Regarding what good players we do have at the club we might as well name them:- Hoilett, Nzonzi, Olsson, Nelsen, Samba, Robinson, Salgado, Emerton, Givet. I suppose you would include Pedersen Jim but I'm not convinced that he offers much anymore to be honest.

While the qualityh isn't too bad in raw numbers they are spread out unevenly. We look decent in goal and defence, and okay in midfield but nary have a striker even the most optimistic fan would describe as top 14 quality let alone top half. Also the odds are looking that both Samba and Hoilett could be off which would be a total hammer blow.

Bare minimum we need one proven quality striker and one proven quality central midfielder alonside some squad signings/loans before further departures.

If we go into next season looking the way we are we are going to be totally reliant on the like of Lowe, Rochina, Formica, Hanley and Morris stepping up. They might manage it - and there is cause for optimism with the way Jones, Olsson, Nzonzi and Hoilett came along - but it is a huge huge risk. Two quality signings would change the picture dramatically.

and youd all be babbling on about jorge rebeiro for next few days for nothing!

and this is the reason ive hardenly posted on here for last 6 months....

because ive seen what happens when people add info....

the automatic "attention seeking" from some people.

I wouldnt like anything more than to tell all to fellow rovers fans but i cant!

Normally I'd write off someone being so vague but Makey did know the name of yesterdays Mr X so maybe be knows this one. As well as Adriano Ribeiro there are also a couple of Anderson Ribeiros

Personally I think everyone is confused and we have actually resigned a deal with Ribero to make our kits.

the reason i cant tell you his name has nothing to do with deadlines for papers or anything like that.

i dont wona lose a friend by saying it when hes asked me not to release it!

id hope youd appreciete that!

especialy if you want little clues in the future!!!!

i think hes better than Jorge but still dont be expecting Dani Alves or anything!

Hmm, question is, even with first dibs, would they bother? Smalling and Jones.. Maybe Venky's have done a bit of their own research here and looked at who United won't be looking to sign any longer. Smart move.

Dodo’s agent is Wagner Ribeiro, not sure whether that is good or not to be honest <_<

Credit to makey11 were credit is due, he revealed the marion pavone name last night, well gave us all the clues to easily work it out ourselves and he did it a good 3 hours before nicko or zacc did

so its clear he knows something, so i would say he's right on this one

guess we just gotta appreciate his reasons for not saying but accept that we are now not much wiser than we was hours ago lol :(

Haha, I think I am the only person who is actually gaining confidence from Venky's being so quiet. I really expected us to be linked to more football stars from the 90s. The way our owners have behaved this window compared to the last I find very satisfying.

I wish I shared your optimism mate, I have stayed neutral through all of venkys crazy decisions, saying give them time they will come good, still waiting! Struggling to find anything positive about them now.

I must admit, after all of their BS, it's a relief that lately they seem to be taking a more measured approach, how long that will last for is anyone's guess.

I will still support the rovers no matter what these lot do to our club.

Here's hoping they come good and by some miracle we sign a couple of much needed quality players.
