Aaron doran has left for inverness on a two year contract apparently. And also I wonder if nicko can shed any light on if we are interested on Alexander grednt or whatever he is called, skysports seem pretty adamant it's us, fulham and WBA who are interested in him

Did you listen to the interview on talksport about Pavone and RSC. Person reckoned we would be better sticking with RSC than going with Pavone. Not impressed if this is the best we can do.

On the other hand RSC was hardly a raging success either.

Frankly I would like to see us after much better than either of them.

when are the venkys going to splash some real cash?? instead off these cheap average freebies. Times running out Venkys!!!

We signed Formica on the 31st of Jan.

Last day, last minute biggest fee at £3.5 million.

Maybe tactically the are planning some last minute shopping, I'm sure it saves a few pennies.

I was always expecting the market to be a little slow at the start mainly because of the crazy fee's demands for the likes of Torres and Carrol, over priced market.

Unless they have a must have target slow and steady wins the race :tu:

Allardyce was taking us down den :P:lol:

I know that Gav.

You've been telling me since last Novenber. Just before you told me that we are the new Arsenal.

I can't srgue with a man who knows his football Gav.

Yes, according to the vermin in the media.

In reality, nope.

To me the reality of the Sam sacking, Williams losing interest, hiring of Kean, casting off of Spit, all reminds me of a liquidation of people who speak their mind and have opinion.

Committees, whatever... We should have a transfer commissar, an education commissar, and a player political officer.

Waiting on the renaming of the match day program to Pravda.

Oh, and the transfers suck so far, should rename this thread "Non Rovers Transfers" and merge it with the other.

Pack of dogs smelling blood is like a lot of the posters on here.

Venkys can`t win with you lot, if they bought in a top drawer striker, no doubt they would have paid over the odds, and stretched our wage budget yada yada yada

they squeezed more money out of the Jones sale - of yes, they are amatuers, critices for lettign him go, when he had a release clause and he wanted to

They have been hung drawn and quartered before they even spend any cash or sign any player, get them out ? WTF ? would that not enhance the situation ? - when there are things obviouslt ticking along in the background, cards held close to their chest, and movement startign to happen.

people don`t even know about all the targets, how much cash, but are so quick to judge and pass judgement - fickle arses is what i think.

Venkys stay for me ! you have some time to prove to the fans by the end of the window what the intentions are, then I will either hold my hand up and asy i was wrong (not that it counts for much) or I will continue to lok forward to watching my favourite team at Ewood come august.

we have already missed out on some good players though, that were not not badly priced, because the venkys could not come up with the right bid. At the start of the summer they were coming out and saying we have got the money to spend on making the team a force, now we are being linked with freebies who are at best average. It's lie after lie with these people!!!

As for Formica, i am sure the fee is lower then you suggest and what has he done since he's been at the come the club?

We are judging Venkys on what they have done so far, which is quite frankly made themselves look clueless and they have embarrassed the club! How can we judge what theyre going to do because we don't know and I doubt they do! It's alright saying see how they do at the end of august....I'm judging their day by day actions and I'm unimpressed!

I dont think im alone, I'd love to be proved wrong but I can't see it happening!

it would help them win the fans over, if they come out with the truth for a change, instead of all these lies they keep giving us. We have been linked with all these top stars since they have taken over but not one has signed, its just a big publicty stunt i reckon!!

I wasn't really saying Formica will be good or not, maybe 'not' is most likely will have to see, more focusing on the timing of the action. £3.5 million was stressed regularly and he did get a call up to Argentina, we was a bit of a star there so £3.5 m doesn't seem unrealistic.

We have missed on players we don't know for sure we were interested in otherwise why didn't we bid at all?

I'd be very surprised if some serious action doesn't happen but I'm waiting like everyone else.

Or maybe just concerned fans?

Tell me one good reason why we shouldn't be bothered about the way the club is currently being run.

Also how the heck can you say "fickle arses?" We were told by them, along with the manager, about how we're in for exciting times. Since then we've missed out on a few decent players that we were linked to, and now we're scraping the bottom of the barrel for foreign misfits. We aren't even going for domestic freebies like Vaughn!

If they are going to come out and say they are going to spend big, chase after Ronaldinho and co, then at the end of the day go for bargain basement buys, it doesn't take a genius to figure out it will cause disappointment amongst the fans.

Of course the other issue, is the sudden change of heart, which is worrying.

Unless Kean shows hitherto unseen qualities and is a talent spotter like Mark Hughes buying quality players usually costs alot of money. It may well be that some of these triallists turn out to be hidden gems but I would say it is highly unlikely don't you ? In the case of Downing and Henderson I would say Liverpool have overapid but Charlie Adam at about £7m (?) looks a snip. The problem is our owners do not appear to be willing to spend even that sort of money.

I don't think you can attribute the talent spotting 100% to Mark Hughes. I think the general scouting infrastructure is still in place, and has been built upon over the last 20 years. I also think with the introduction of Kentaro/SEM to our advisory team should improve our worldwide scouting. The future for a small club like ours has to be in signing the right players at low prices.

The owners know this, Most managers know this, most chairmen will certainly preach this.

Why is it just fans who need to be appeased by throwing money away?... did 'Arry not teach us anything at Pompey?

I for one am happy we are taking our time, because if we were spending like a city club, the next few years would be a tumultuous ride....

I always ponder why people having an opinion leads to name calling.

If I were to call you a whipped dog, showing its ass to its master, would that be any more offensive because of my stance?

Say for example, you had a boss who promised you a wonderful new desk and computer, and some better workers to work under you. And even some of the best computers and servers that there are available just to raise the profile of the office.

Then they fire the manager and promote a very junior programmer. Then the CEO gets board and leaves.

You were happy and waited for a month, whilst a sale went on and all the good computers were bought and more of the better workers left. You then waited another month, and another, and another.

Nothing.

Then they sold one of your best computers to another office.

Nothing, nothing, nothing.

Then some more staff left and they still haven't replaced the CEO.

Another sale pops up and a hiring conference to boot. They look at all the best computers and say "Nah, too expensive." You remember that months ago in the company magazine they stated that they would go out and get some of the best computers.

Then they buy a 286 with a monitor the size of Malta.

Do you sit at your desk happy?

Not saying I'd like us to sign Eidur Gudjonsson but is he better than what we have at the moment? I'd say probably....and he's signing for a championship club! We need to step it up a gear in our striker search!

good move for him he is too fat and slow these days, he won't get goals at PL level.

I can understand the Mongongu deal as he appears to have some potential but signing Pavone would be absurd.

We already have strikers who can manage 5-10 goals in a whole season.

Roberts, Kalinic and Benjani (has he signed?) with Formica, Rochina and Hoilett able to play just behind.

All we need to add to that is a prolific striker and we have plenty of options.

I'd rather give Nick Blackman more game time than get another avergae striker in!

If our strike force was Roberts, Kalinic + 1 Top striker (15-20 goals a season) and one decent striker (10-15 goals a season) we would be a very good side. 4 strikers that can manage around 5 goals will not take us anywhere. Samba will score more than that.
