Summer 2011 Transfer Window - Part 3.

Fees, wages and agent's fees are proving very troublesome. I think the owners are finding that out.

Nothing is ever simple, straightforward or cheap in the transfer market.

So whatever sum of money you may have set aside can be very quickly wiped out...

Significant times ahead here.

Why has it come as a surprise we have kentaro advising us ?!!

Nicko any further news on Fabiano? his name just doesn't want to go away, and I'm not sure we should take a risk on him

It will be too late by then.

tell that to the rest on this message board

Fabiano's name has come back up. H eis available. Another team wants him. You wanted him before so some of your 'people' have had a tip-off.

The odd thing is why he has not played since he went to Brazil. It's an interesting one if he is fit and focussed.

Very risky otherwise.

There was some excellent work being done a week or more ago.

Then it gets ripped up.

I am not entirely sure why it has gone strange. I have my suspicions. But I will keep them to myself until I know for sure.

The reason I thought some people were lying about targets is that some people just did not know what was going on in other parts of the club...quite bizarre.

The trouble is that TOO many names are coming in from TOO many different areas within the club.

You have money to spend for the first time in years and have no great idea of how to spend it. Of course, the market is hard. But if you had experts in the field on your side you would have a better chance.

But this window will be just as bad if people do not get their act together.

You have a chance to kick on here.

Was Kean and Huber doing the excellent work?

Who is in charge of negotiating the transfers for rovers? Is it Huber of Anderson or our new club secretary?

Nicko, is there any sign of a proper management structure being put in place so that we don't have various folk at the club going off in different directions? If money is not as plentiful as some would think then it is vital that everyone is on the same page here and in particular the manager's views have to be considered. It would appear that things are as shambolic as ever.

For those who seem to think we are all 'making up' names.

VUCINIC...was the manager's choice...contact with the agent was made...way too expensive all round...move on...no problem.

CISSE...agent spoke to officials working for the club...again way too expensive...that may come down...doubt it.

KEANE...discussed between Rovers and Spurs in an old-fashioned way...manager liked the idea...appears the owners do not [read quotes in Indian press]...expensive too.

PIATTI...part of a list that was compiled when prices and availability were checked...it seems this list has now been discarded...no idea why.

ANJUKOV...quoted in the bleedin Russian press...not dead yet...but expensive.

WITSEL...obvious link...but expensive.

WARNOCK...available...liked...not needed [in my view].

ONUOHA...story coming out of Man City...as of yesterday was still being hawked to other clubs.

WARNER...contract terms still not agreed.

Common links. Different people want different players. And money is a MAJOR issue.

lol.. I love our club at times.. we have 16m from player sales alone and money is a major issue.. so what we do we turn for the cheaper options of Fabiano...

So I guess everything is expensive for us.

That's the way it's looking how the hell can we supposedly have 40m+ then everyones too expensive?

There's plenty of time left for transfers but the Asia trophy Is a decent stage to showcase yourself to a new Market...can't see how we are going to cover ourselves in glory at the moment!

I was hoping we would get most of our transfer dealings done by the Asia Trophy and give them time to settle in and get used to the way we will be playing next season.

We are Blackburn Rovers for Christ's sake not Barcelona. If we want good players to come here we have to pay a premium, at least for the first one or two until the world realises that the Venkys are serious. If they are not prepared to pay that premium we will not get the players.

That is a fact.

exactly, what world do these idiots live in? theres no other reason why a top player would come here apart from wages, i dont buy into these 'we dont want to bankrupt the club' baloney, that wont happen, we have to push the boat out on at least 2 new players otherwise we will be in the same position as last season

Or maybe, just maybe, they want to pay too much for a player that has had a good season only (Cisse), or a player who is in a descending part of his career (Keane) and have to wait to see what players decide (just today, there were news that Napoli also wants Piatti)...

Insulting people, even when they don't read this, is very poor behaviour.

For the first time someone with sense! People need to realize that we need at least 75-80% of the squad in during the next couple of weeks to give them a proper pre-season too. I cant believe that with all this time that the club have had how we have gone back to square one, after 6-7 weeks of the season being over.

All the words nicko has just written should be read carefully rather than just looking at the list of players.

I will stick with saying something which shocked a few people last week that in this transfer fiasco Kentaro are actually the good guys- horribly expensive but good (and I am emphasising Kentaro rather than just the SEM part).

Whether Kentaro want to stick with Rovers after everything that has happened in the last ten days might be another matter altogether. If Kentaro lose interest, Rovers simply have nobody left who has good current knowledge and experience of operating effectively in the business end of the transfer market with Venky's having lost Allardyce, Williams and Finn.

Chaddy, I believe the agreed plan was to get all the transfers done before the Asia Trophy but the Rao "football expert" brother had second, third and other thoughts. There is one thing which the Raos are proving to have been honest to the fans about- they have multiple multiple advisers and at the moment that is totally screwing up the Rovers.

Agree there mate..

The most telling Nicko comment for me is

.. But I thought Kentaro are supposed to be our expert advisors and on our side.. ?

One word sums us up as a club. JOKE. if we have 40million how can players be to expensive, stop messing around and get some bids in, or better yet get a ###### chairman in from somewhere.

It seems to me that we are being quoted stupid money by other clubs and players because they know we have money to spend. This has happened before to the club, for those who remember when Shearer left, we couldnt get a replacement in, as everyone we wanted we were quoted most of that fee.

That is why once we knew Jones was going, we needed to have deals lined up and ready to sign.

It also appears from the info on here that there are too many people playing at this. Venkys need to sit back and back their manager they rate so highly. Indeed I dont think there is any other manager out there who would put up with what we hear is happening.

I think we need to narrow what we are aiming for. We need to sign 2 strikers, a central midfielder and a centre-half. If we can be succesful at this, we will be much improved from last season.

Once completed and if we still have cash left then fine look at full-back and wingers, but IMO they arent a priority.

i think the chuckle brothers should stay out of it then. How the heck has it come to this? What can be so hard about identifying targets then going out and getting them? sunderland have done it, norwich have done it (allbeit on a smaller scale) man utd have done it (larger scale). Why are we always last doing business, i remember the same thing under the old regime. We have waited and waited, patiently, for them to deliver and yet it seems theyre getting absolutely nowhere. Its time for someone to put their foot down and say 'im making the decisions' otherwise it will continue to be a crowded room where everyone's voice is raised. If nothing happens in the next couple of weeks then i would assume we will go into the new season with the same cr*p as last season.
