I agree. Unless you spot that there has been a flurry of activity in one of the other threads you might miss a lot of interesting discussion. i quite understand that this thread gets unwieldy and there are server problems at times, but it was much easier to read through just one big thread before. Now I come on and read people quoting posts I haven't even seen, which have been removed to some other place that I can't be bothered to look for.

Delete this post too. It's off topic but i just wanted you to know that I preferred it as it was.

don't want to continue this too much, but its easier to go through 2 pages in each individual player threads, than 80 to 100. this thread is only on page 20 odd, had there been no individual player threads, we would have been at page 100 in quick time. also, it keeps the number of posts down from flooding one specific thread. while its a bit confusing at times, its much better imo

I disagree, the new layout is much easier to keep track on particular players and their current situation. Plying through 20 pages of Keith Andrews nonsense was doing my head in. Personally I'm loving the new site and its layout :rover:

the problem is the links only thread is never up to date

so people come on here to have a quick browse on what is reported to be happening.

all the links about us bidding for Jones on loan have been removed from this thread.

so if this is happening, we now have to go to all individual threads to check for links on reported bids instead of just looking here

If it bothers you, ask to become a moderator so that you can help to bring threads up to date.

Otherwise accept it as it is.

Its all a load of crap but I still come back in hope that something has happened. Wish I never found this site sometimes :)

Agreed. The old way was better. Though I understand why admin feel the need to try something different. But in my view this does not work. Although it was a pain going through lots of posts of people slagging each other off. It must be easier to do it - or even remove them - on one thread than a number of other threads about transfers.

Not if there are 40 or so players linked ! Each thread gets the same amount of oh no type posts and you can't lump comments on several players together on one post. Oh well, only 3 weeks till I go on holiday and can't access internet for weeks without making so much effort it's just not worth it.

I suppose it is as distracting to discuss how to discuss how a non-existant transfer organisation is making non-existant transfers as it is to discuss either the non-existant transfer organisation or the non-existant transfers.

Does this mean nicko's 11 O'Clockers will be removed with each headline name he mentions being put into it's own thread or will he be given special dispensation (like always)?

Hopefully he will get special dispensation, as it will be easier to follow and read ! - anyways, thought this thread was for transfers rather than pages of discussion about the new format !

Big week for Rovers this week and hopefully we shall see some incomings

It's not special dispensation as he normally discusses more than one target in a post.

The current format was suggested and is being trialled, it has it's merits but like anything new will experience some teething problems. I think it will work a lot better once we are looking at least close to signing certain players as at the moment there are so many names coming up that not many are worth speculating over.

Closed season and January is a time when rational adults lose all their senses and reasoning and start acting like stamping "I want it now" kids.

FFS it's only July 4th. 12 months ago we were all speculating on what free transfers we could buy, and looking forward to the mega signing of Benjani, because Sam blew the family savings on Kalinic

Proven Premierleague talent is what we need...Defoe,Warnock,Bentley,Bellamy,Crouch,Bendtner etc etc.

It will cost us but signing 'Carlos kickaballs' is taking a massive gamble with our cash I fear.

Proven? Bendtner?

We havent been linked to just 'Carlos kickaballs', we've been linked to some very very good overseas talent (Piatti/Cisse) who you may not have heard of. Considering we could probably get Piatti and Cisse for the same price as one Peter Crouch, I know damn well what i'd spend the money on.

Definitely +1 on this. Much easier to find what you want to know. It is so much better than wading through an interminably long list of players I have never heard of and those pushing their names have never seen except as characters in FM or the like. I want to see only talk about realistic targets that BRFC is actually interested in and NOT what some spottty youth in his dreams thinks we should be aiming for.

Rather unfair. Peter Crouch is a very good and effective player. His scoring record for England compares with thge best in recent years. He just looks all wrong. Obviously this is simply not good enough for weak and under achieving continental managers who are under the impression that style, image and appearence is more important than end results.

Agreed! Althouh he would look more dynamic in Blue and White, everyone does (unless your name is Keith).

Without taking this topic off topic (not that it hasn’t already)

You should keep ALL links and Nicko style posts in this one……the links should then be quoted into the relevant threads and any follow up discussion from members should then go into each relevant player thread. Simple really. No need to move all the links across, just the chit chat that follows.

As for Signings – im hoping this week is the one where we finally make some moves, ideally a proven goalscorer and a midfielder….they wont come cheap so dig deep Venkys. Fabiano & Witsel would be a very good start to pre-season.

Im not disputing that Crouch is a good player, he clearly is, its just that for the money he'd cost (£15m+) I reckon we could get 2/3 very decent players who would strengthen the side much more overall. As long as we avoid the likes of Bendtner then we should be ok.
