Before I get banned I'd better get back on topic.

As for Bejani getting a deal it's probably belt and braces thinking as we only have two srikers on the books and one of those is dragging his bottom lip on the floor

getting fed up of reading were linked with so + so , etc...but when it comes to the nitty gritty have Rovers even lodged any bids for anyone as yet ?? ? :angry2:

Looking more like a joke club day by day

let alone got to the discussing personal terms stage , then getting them to sign on the dotted line and work under the puppet !

According to todays press we have asked about taking JJ on loan again WTF happened to signing him permanent ??? Schalke must be thinking who are these jokers ????

Oh and before anyone pro venkys deluded fools come on and say its only such a date , it's only early....well apparently we've had targets for weeks and even SK wanted new players for pre season......

Rant over

Quite Surprised that we are after 2 'first team' strikers. If Formica is to make an impact at the club next season then there is no way he could play in a 4 man midfield, he doesnt have the physique nor abilities to do so. If he is to be, hopefully, a somewhat regular starter next season, then I would assume he would play behind a striker in a 5 man midfield.

The fact that we are looking to sign two quality strikers, who would only move to us if they were guaranteed first team football indicates to me that we are going to play 4-4-2 next season.

I am not quite sure what that means for Formica. :!:

Effectively they have done - the low salaries paid to 99% of public servants being off-set by comparatively good pensions and other rights. Lets not forget - it isn't so long ago that private sector pensions and salaries were far better than that offered to the public sector. They have always been - and will possibly remain - been the governments whipping boys.

It's a well known fact that 99% of all statistics are made up!

Well if he's the Batistuta Kean first described him to be, then I guess he would be the striker or one of the strikers. If he's the Middlesbrough's Juninho Kean supposedly had described him after the ManU-game, then I guess he would be playing behind the lone striker. If he's something else, all bets are off.

On a purely financial level it makes sense to leave your business till the end of July. If you sign 5 players on 40K a week a month later you save 1 million in wages alone.

SCOTTY! what are you doing on here.. you are sensible and use logic.. are you sure youre in the right place ?:tu:

on and on formica... i like the glimpses ive seen. i dont get the batigol comparision though, he's not been used as an out and out striker in the games ive seen.

played like a classic number 10 playmaker role! and was outstanding in the chelsea reserves final!

Yeah well, nothing like putting a bit of pressure on the lad before he has even played a game for the first team is there. Kean is a genius!

It may make financial sense (also players might be cheaper towards the end of the window) but it is a risky strategy.

What happens if you decide to start your transfer business but you then find that most of the targets identified during several months of research and scouting have already gone to other clubs and all there is left is players that aren't good enough?

If Rovers were a side without major holes in their team and the overall squad quality was good then they could wait and see until towards the end of the window and make a signing or two. But this current team has weaknesses in every area and there are only 3-4 'decent' players in the squad. If Rovers do have the money that people have been talking about then they should be making moves now.

Has anyone else got the problem I'm having at present? Namely not being able to go back any further than page 23 on this thread. Every time I try I get a pink banner talking about some sort of error. Very frustrating!! :angry2:

A little irritating, although I was trawling the back posts earlier and I can assure you that pages 24 and 25 are almost exactly the same as the ones before them :)

Same here but we miss nothing I think. Probably the next 23 pages won´t give anything joy either.

They are deluded. Oh dear.

While I believe Kamy and Alan Nixon, I still take most of their accounts with a pinch of salt. I probably will take this piece of news with a pinch of salt too, but as long as I'm not part of the backroom staff I will not immediately jump into conclusions and accuse anyone of being deluded.

Come on, we don't know the facts. It's not fair to say Alan Nixon is definitely more reliable than Mumbai news. And even Kamy admitted that the meeting room has cleared up, Ms. Desai has knocked heads around a bit and roles are getting defined.

You sound like you're bashing for the sake of bashing.

i think this continuous link situation we are in will carry on for a few weeks yet. I have no doubt that Venky's what to sign some quality players but are reluctant to pay over the odds. im sure we are waiting for the asking prices of Onouha, Piatti etc to drop slightly and for P.Cisse to come to terms with the fact he will have to ask for 10-15k less a week if he wants a dream move to the league of his choice, the prem. Wenger insisted the market is still very raw and prices are sky high for players, once august looms, he expected that valuations will have dropped and the window will be in full flow.

i think for the time being, patience may well be the port of call.
