Summer 2011 Transfer Window - Part 3.

Well suprise, suprise... Our non-rich owners (by EPL standards) suddenly realise they haven't got the £50m that nicko put his "neck on the line" saying we'd spend.

I await for your story on January 1st about how our "rich" owners are gonna spend £20m only for it to less than £5m by February 1st.

You said a few weeks ago that you couldn't give a crap about where the money's coming from. Maybe you should as it seems once again a few ambitious tales from their end have sucked you in again Mr Nixon. Just like the Ronaldinho line did in January.

Our owners aren't mega-rich, they aren't billionaires and they don't have tens of millions to throw at a single transfer window. So next time one of the Venky's sources (or whoever you use) sends you a story about signing a list of players that would equal 5 times the yearly profits of their main company, you might wanna take it with a pinch of salt.

Venky's PR (and I count deliberately giving nicko tid bits being part of it) seems to be promise them the world, give them a rock and the fans are going to eventually get annoyed with it.

BANG!!!!! and the messenger is shot! :wstu:

Thanks for the update nicko hope you can get some serious answers. Ive herd Steve Kean likes a drink maybe you could go to his house with a bottle of Buckfast and get some answers out of him :D

To be fair, regarding the Venkys PR thing the only people knowing about the committee meltdown are us, the readers on the messageboard.

The average Blackburn fan who reads the papers and gets his news from tabloids and newspapers wouldn't hear about this meltdown and chaos because it was never reported in papers. So the Venkys PR aren't at fault here nor are they in actuality "lying" to fans. It's just the stuff Alan Nixon is leaking to us, that's all. Not what the PR are telling the media and most fans.

But that doesn't make the problem, if Alan Nixon's sources are accurate, go away.

However much cash we have - whether it be 50 or 5 mill it’s more than we had to spend under the ‘trust’.

If what we read is to be believed (and there is no reason to suggest otherwise) then it paints a much darker picture about how the club is being run.

And that is far more troubling than what amounts of spendable cash we have or have not!

Only just read this page, and frankly if Nicko is right we need to speak a language the Indians understand. Everyone should grow a big moustache, burn effigies of the Rao family and generally riot. They do it over there if someone says Tendulkar is over rated after all.

The Rao family had better get things sorted out, and tell the wider world things are sorted out fast. Very, very fast. These rumours and stories are very damaging for the club and everyone involved with it.

PATHETIC post.. :wstu: "Everyone should grow a big moustache, burn effigies of the Rao family and generally riot".. not even funny.

your remarks are much more damaging than any of the rumours you speak of.

oh and nicko... sometimes its better to say nothing at all.. you know how most panic on here! :P

BANG!!!!! and the messenger is shot! :wstu:

That's a nice defence that isn't it? Make as many claims as you want and then when they go sour deflect all critism of those claims by saying 'don't shoot the messenger'...very convenient.

Nicko did not have to "put his neck on the line" and claim we'd spend around £50m but he did. That bit wasn't the "message" but nicko opinion on the message. A sensible thing to have said would be to put the list he had heard and then said something like "If they all come off that would be a spend of around £50m, but it iis a big if" but nicko didn't do that, he was so confident we'd go out and get them all he 'put his neck on the line' and was sure we'd spend big.

The fact is, when nicko posts something like 'I'm confident you'll spend £45m-£50m' it sets a certain level of expectation amongst many people on here (especially the nickoteens who believe every word he says).

Had he never posted that figure I really don't think there would be as much hoo-ha behind the scenes right now or on this board. No one expected us to spend 40-50m until nicko said we would and because we may not now it has become a story. Great for nicko as he seems to have made a second story from his first unsubstantiated one....

A ) Tell BRFCS that Rovers will spend circa £50m

B ) Wait few weeks

C ) Have new story about how there is now less to spend

Two stories created from nothing, there was probably never a £50m budget in the first place as that was never a realistic amopunt of money considering how much our owners have and what it is worth them risking on a football club.

wtf, thought the budget was agreed upon weeks ago. so if that was agreed, then neither Huber, Anderson or anybody should be disagreeing on targets. Kean is supposedly in charge, if he wants Cisse or whoever, and there is money then why the (Please don't use that word again) are there still issues. Kean = Yes Man! we were warned about this, and these multiple advisors are ###### us over now. Its going to be similar to the trust, where we ask "where has the money gone"

How exactly is that "weird"?

Alan Nixon and Kamy said they had done a lot of work, and especially excellent work for the first 2 weeks before everything fell apart last week.

So it's weird how you came to that conclusion.

Suddenly its not such a wierd conclusion

Ignore him. His tag shows he's only ever going to knock them.

The people who slag them off are generally the ones demanding they spend their money as well. Odd.

I knew they would spend no money they are just here to sell our best players and promote their chicken, never have trusted them and if Kean is given no money it's an absolute disgrace,i'd rather Walkers trust were here atleast it would mean John Williams would be here,we are a laughing stock to the rest of the league.Venky's are no better than the trust atleast under them we had stability through williams and co.worrying times.

I would love to tell you something positive, but it's not possible at the moment.

Even now there are some big questions about how much money is actually available to spend.

You have gone from having an A List of good players to chasing round after frees and trialists in the space of a week.

Oh FFS.. From Cisse, Piatti, Witsel and Anyukov to freebies and trialists in the space of 7 days!

Really looking forward to the announcement of the Myles Anderson signing. If they had had any sense or understanding of public relations at all, surely they would try to deflect the attention away from that "job for the boys" type signing by actually getting someone half decent in at the same time.

At this rate we'll end up with Andrea Silenzi and Michele Padovano as our only incomings this summer (apart from Jerome's toddler and Tony Warner) :angry2:

what a cluster xxxx of club this is turning in to. why cant they just get it sorted venkys have so many advisers you would think they ADVISE the owners to appoint a chairman and director. To take this club by the balls and make a final decision on what way the club is going to be run weather it's the right or wrong one. rover's get it sorted or it'll be you that suffer's

Nicko never said we would spend 50M.

He said in his opinion the players on the wanted list ( at the time it was list 'A') would cost 50M.

Now i appreciate Nicko's posts as much as the next person and he is mostly on the money but you got that wrong there, he said something along the lines of "i'll stick my neck out here and say you will spend between 45-50m in this window"

Today's LET lead sports story was very telling, and if believed, the fact that we may still be sniffing around Benjani I think speaks volumes as to where we might be regarding the so called A B or C lists.

Hopefully the fact he hasn't flown out with the rest of the squad is at least hope for optimism!

I think maybe the people advising a certain someone is sending them on a bit of a false ride, I will hold judgement right now but I think things aren't as bad as some people are making out, its July 4th, lets see how the next few weeks pan out, the amount of players we have been linked with we could have a whole new squad now, the transfer market is a getting harder and harder to find players now cause of agents and advisers, I believe in the best will come to those who wait, lets have a little faith for once and judge them at the end of the transfer window and not on july 4th

Yes he did

I think there will be SIX in at least and I will predict here and now that around £45 to £50 million will be spent.

Quite happy to stick my neck out on that after the vibes picked up over the past 48 hours.

There are a lot of mixed messages coming out of Ewood, or Pune, or wherever the decisions are currently being made.

It was only a couple of days ago that Kamy said "heads have been banged together" by Mrs D and now nicko is saying that we don't even know what the budget is and we are looking at freebies and trialists ? What the hell is going on ?

Christ this is confusing.

Surely we have at least 16 million to spend ?
