Financial and a blow to the owners.

Which is what???

Nope spend £26 million inclusive of Jones money. That £26 million covers all transfer fees and wages.

I DONT understand.....we already have a wage hole for RSC, Mame, J Jones, P Jones & Jason Brown....surely we can move players out to free up wage bill? Why does the wages have to come from the £26m???

There is something much bigger going on here.

I am yet to put my finger on it, but I do have my suspicions.

Such as?

May I ask where is the £40 million SKY money goin ? or gone ?

On operational costs & wages like every season

Realistic targets:-

O.K here's a list of premiership players who could hit the ground running and add something to the squad. 2-3 from this list and 2-3 youths from the reserves in the mould of rochina with a gd pedigree who will develop and i think we'd be sorted. time to get realistic!!!!

wright philips

warnock

keane

Jo

O shay

wes brown

darron gibson

owen hargreaves

viera

mathew upson

reo coker

Bentley

who would you want from this list????

Wright Phillips for low wages and low fee as a backup if Hoillett got injured.

Upson on a free and low wages as a backup if we lost Samba and couldn't find ANYONE else.

Reo Coker if we can't sign a midfielder.

Warnock.. Again if we lost Samba and HAD to get a LB in to cover Givet moving into CB and couldnt get anyone else.

Maybe Bentley on a low wage (wouldnt happen).

But i wouldn't 'WANT' any of these players.

Maybe take them as a last resort though.

I don't remember saying anything about "no urgency".

I made a point that both Santa Cruz and Benni McCarthy transferred to Blackburn on 28th July in 2006 and 2007 respectively. And hence there is no reason why we should panick and go into meltdown, rebellion mode and throw the owners out just because there has been no transfers done by 4th July.

I too would like to see tranfers done as early as possible. But there's a difference between not panicking when nothing's happening and being laidback and saying there's no urgency in making signings.

You are right, though. I have not been a member for five minutes. I have been a member for about a month, and a lurker for half a year. Created an account because I couldn't access the messageboard recently when they required me to be a member or something like that. Doesn't mean my opinion is worth much less than you or someone who has been a member for decades. We're still Blackburn fans no matter how long you're a member here. In fact, you don't have to be a member here to be a Blackburn fan either.

Venkys are ditching Kentaro as main advisors.

Indeed. That would be what my money was on. Huber may be a sound bloke and a nice guy, doesn't mean everyone else who works for him is though

To be honest, if Mrs. D reads this forum and talks with Kean.. There is no reason she would need advisor's. Use your manager and your fan base, we are.. free? Probably more knowledgeable than Kentaro :P

Kamy's info is the same as mine...the people who own the club have found out how expensive transfers are and have gone into neutral as a result...nobody who matters in negotiations now knows what money is available to spend.

I apologize if what I said sounded offensive. I by no means meant your information was different from Kamy or more unreliable. I meant that even though you and Kamy were providing the exact same information and essentially saying the same thing, the way you both worded your information had completely opposite effects.

But if I follow what you've been saying, it isn't that Venkys had absolutely no idea what they were going into, but that the players ended up being greedy and demanding much higher wages than expected.

Sorry about that. You are right, of course. I went overboard with that remark. I apologize.

Nice timing if they do...............

They need to get people hired in key positions before moving forward. What happened to having a Chairman?

Yeah i hear you but ALL have a wealth of premiership experience command a lower transfer fee and are lower risk than £10-15 million pre Madonna's with no premiership experience, high wages and high risk. I'd rather go for experience and a few high potential low fee youths than risk all our money on 1-2 players who may/may not have an immediate impact.

2 weeks ago they had the big meetings all week long where they came up with the god-forsaken 'lists'. I find it hard to believe that EVEN THEN this wouldn't be brought to their attention....its either a lie or complete incompetence. Really struggling to believe that they can only just find out now

We could do worse.. but I'd like to still grasp some hope that we can do better as well.

If it gets into the last week of the window and we're struggling then they would be on my list.

No apologies needed. No offence taken.

I was just working through your theory and trying to say where it didn't stack up.

As of now there is nothing remotely like a budget known to anyone who matters in the process.

There is something much bigger going on here.

I am yet to put my finger on it, but I do have my suspicions.

Maybe they have realised how expensive it is to run a football club and have decided to sell up. Would certainly explain a few things. This is just speculation on my part and not from any sources or such like.

General club funds and costs.

There is more to pay for than wages and transfers.

Every Prem club gets this TV money but look how few rock up with a £40m transfer budget.

Still £40 million, still a fair point, don't see it being spent wisely.

As a businessman myself I'd still like to know more.

No need for the insult........

Tempting to say one can only hope that's the case.

But then again, who on earth would buy us?

nicko, who was the striker with the 'interesting' background? Not naming him yet eh?

Luis Fabiano,he named him a few days ago but it clearly is not going to happen sure we are going to resign Benjani ha

Read the clubs accounts then - its been the same for YEARS. We spend about 85% of our income on wages alone (probably more now)

Ha ha Ahsan Ali Syed!

Or more seriously maybe Saurin Shah finally has the funds, very nice bloke who was always honest with Rovers during negotiations.
