Any transfer news?

Yes, no money was spent - even though it appears to be dwindling - today on any incoming player, for any position. But lots of pens were used in compiling list. With the hounds spending more time looking for the fox in the chicken pen.

Obviously I can't out players as it was a private conversation which could lead to never being trusted again. Could have been bull, but then they were more than candid about other matters. All I can say is according to a few seniors he's a top bloke, would help anyone out, and is well liked by the team.

Although being a top bloke and being able to talk a good game isn't necessarily a recipe to be a good manager. Look at the late great Ray Harford.

Sadly i have heard different about him in regards to members of the public in watering holes in Read

Until now, a manager losing the dressing room has invariably equated to a team's demise, but in the wacky world of this messageboard, players losing faith in the manager magically equips them to take points off the 2 most successful managers in the last 20 years, defeat the golden boy at Bolton and win the most important game for 10 years by half-time. One wonders why all clubs don't do the same.

Once again, speculation becomes rumour dressed up as fact and inserted into threads about completely different subjects by the usual suspects.

It was common knowledge at the time, that the players took control. I cannot help but believe that you are either employed or being used by venkys or somebody connected with the club - because some of the things you are coming out with as well as the stance you seem to take. If I am wrong on that so be it. The players will praise the manager, they did so with Ince. We all know what happened when Ince was the manager.

Kean is the problem at the club in my opinion, as well as the agents. There seems to be too many cooks spoiling the broth at the moment.

I believe one solution could be to have Mark Hughes back with Seven goran ericsson (spelling) as director of football. Both know football, both know players, both have decent reputations. Both could be the answer to venkys dithering and the dealing with agents.

But they would have to step back and let Hughes and his team and SGE get on with it. Because they know what they are doing in football. If these appointments were made, then, Venkys would need to trust them to get on with the job. They would then see a difference in their investment. But as things stand now Venkys are losing credibility and making a disaster of the 2011 / 12 season before a ball is kicked.

I don't post much on here, but, although not exactly a credible argument against this post, merely a point of view.....what a load of utter garbage.

If that's the case, I'm surprised the players have not criticized the manager but are instead praising him as "fantastic". Whether Kean is really fantastic or not remains to be seen, but the players apparently think very highly of him. The whole "Kean took a step back and cede control to the senior players" thing could be rumors ignited by the anti-Kean brigade. But they could be right, they could be wrong. Only Kean and the players know the truth.

I highly doubt plenty of people do.

Thankfully the strength of Blackburn Rovers football club of the day carried Stephen Kean and Venky's through and over the finishing line.

Anyone feeling otherwise is misguided.

Now the worry is, if these nutters are allowed to bring in their own people (Tony Warner and Myles Anderson being just two examples), then the general feeling is that, that strength the club once had will disappear leaving the club in a complete mess.

My god I'd be praising him if he was offering me a ridiculous amount of money to sign a new deal....See Nelsen see Roberts etc! He's an easy touch, of course they like him....I still cringe when I think of his "5 positive results" statement!

I thought the players were criticizing Ince during his time here? I heard them openly stating that they were unhappy with his coaching methods and how he was so different from Mark Hughes.

Or am I confused and all those statements were made after Ince was sacked?

Just to be clear I'm in Japan right now and my only link to Venkys is my friend who works for them. Nothing more. I don't work for them, and being "pro-Venkys" doesn't mean I'm a Venky spokesman or employee. To put it simply, I'm playing devil's advocate and let's leave it at that.

Anyway, no one said the players lost faith in Kean, I guess. More like the senior players took the initiative and Kean was benevolent enough to not let the power go to his head and allow them to talk to the team. Players and seniors inspiring their teammates do not automatically equate to a revolt in the dressing room, at least that's what I think.

I'll take your word for it, but I'm pretty sure the twenty members who heard first-hand about that didn't hear firsthand about how the players were complaining or going against Kean? Firsthand Samba rallying the team at Blackpool, I'll give you that, but firsthand players voicing out against Kean and saying how his tactics weren't working? Firsthand that Kean did absolutely nothing and hid away while his captain did the talking?

What about Junior Hoillet? Guy hasn't gotten his paycheck yet and he's praising Kean as well.

I think plenty of us on here take a bit of pleasure from winning an argument, or being proved right RTH - from both sides of the fence, - we wouldn't be human otherwise. Trouble is, when you have shown that you think the owners aren't up to it and there if there is some evidence that they aren't, the temptation is to highlight that point. So we have a situation where the "negative" posters [for want of a better expression] are gloating about the fact that they said things were wrong within the club. That could certainly come across as people wanting the owners to fail. I can't imagine the fans who take that viewpoint, actually going down to Ewood and revelling in the club failing though RTH.

[if any of that makes sense].

It does make sense and I tried to pick my words carefully to draw the distinction between wanting the club to fail and wanting the owners "not to succeed." You can see this in the resolute manner in which certain people refuse to acknowledge anything positive - usually using the "in spite of" argument.

I never wanted this takeover. The problem is - if the owners don't succeed then the club is in the sh*t. And we are POSSIBLY seeing the start of that spiral into it. I really hope they sort themselves out soon

You can't tell us the names of players that were saying good things about the manager? What possible reprecussions would it have on the "outed" players? Bizarre.

Agree with the anderson transfer but you cant say that about Warner its not like he is replacing Robbo he is coming in to work as a youth goalkeeper Coach for Lowe and can be registered for third choice keeper allowing Jake Kean to go out on loan for experience. Man City even signed Stuart Taylor not long ago.

My hope says that the family will recover from the shock of the reality of the Premier League and do the best they can with what they have. The past few months have made me realise that from now on I'm going to listen to nothing that comes from the club / the club's PR as it is likely to be from someone that doesn't see any issues with the club acquiring the services of Neymar.

Venkys, I ask you, I beg you as a fan with a geniune love of the club, start small and build. Regular and often and proper development might actually lead to the club becoming the marketing vehicle that you want it to be.

are you saying that the owners want Neymar to come to Rovers?

there is no chance he will come to rovers when Real Mardid, Cheslea, both Milan clubs want to sign him. The owners have to be realistic about who we can buy. We need to buy good players who want to come to Rovers and will improve the quality of the first team sqaud. Let's get four or five good players in this transfer window and progress as a club and get into the top 10 this season.

My goodness.

There may actually be a cash signing to get proper discussion going on this evening.

I have to sit on it until the paper is out.

But it would be no surprise if it broke beforehand.

F**k my Grannies boots Nicko they are gonna go into overdrive now....
