Iceman Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I get blank looks when I ask about Onuoha... Have to excuse me there is an amazing managerial story poised to break. Not concerning your club I should add. is it your side kick Coyley to Partick Thistle?

Mattyblue Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Is the penny not dropping ..ben the beast and mattyblue. The penny has dropped, want to cover my arse before I pick it up though.
PAFELL Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Surely not Arsene Whinger to leave Arsenal? Fergy leaving, Hughes to take over. Ince to dingles, with kean as coach.
Eddie Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Eddie does have a knowledge of French football but he didn't think N'zonzi would make it in the Prem so just take any opinion with a pinch of salt. Don't think anyone can really judge how a player can do in a completely different league, some adapt well and some don't. Sigh. We'll go over this once again: I didn't expect him to be able to play in the premier league right away and I feel that my opinion turned out to be correct. After a few good months he turned into a decidedly average player. A good prospect, but not the finished article. As for Mongongu, well there was a while about 12 months ago where people were quite excited about him (around when AC Milan took a look), but he had a fairly average season. It is hard to judge as the entire Monaco team were poor, but he certainly didn't look like a premier league defender. He's big and strong and fairly quick, but is a bit error prone. The price seems ok and he's probably worth a gamble. If Samba stays and Nelsen is fit then he isn't a bad third choice, but I wouldn't want to bet our season on the chance that he can adapt quickly to the league and develop as a defender.
roverandout Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 if they decide to sell up, i hope they never darken their doors with their presence again. They will be lynched if they ever come to blackburn. Thats if their is any substance to it. If it happens they have set this club back a year maybe more and i dont think i would be able to trust prospective future buyers again. They have scarred me for life. (that last bit was tongue in cheek, or was it?)
nicko Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Nicko have you heard anything regarding the rumors stated by Kamy that Venkys may be looking to sell up? I mean when you were mentioning funds were not what we first deemed them to be I think many on here assumed we had the Phil Jones money and maybe a little bit more. Not being unable to pay what £2million for Mongongu. I posted on that thread...frankly the picture changes on a daily basis around here.
OJRovers Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Bit harsh on N'Zonzi there Eddie, first season he was player of the year and if you analyse the results at the end of last year with him \ without him in the team, he was very important in us staying up. Will Venkys or the club release a statement soon? Not a lot of communication recently yet they expect people to spend their hard earned money on season tickets.
ben_the_beast Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I posted on that thread...frankly the picture changes on a daily basis around here. Ah ok hadn't seen that. Realized as I posted I had probably potentially taken this thread off topic for go knows how many pages. Delete if you wish mods.
PAFELL Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Surely not Arsene Whinger to leave Arsenal? Yes coming to Rovers under new ownership.

They have scarred me for life. (that last bit was tongue in cheek, or was it?) Yes, maybe more! They have set this club back to pre souness days if they sell or do not put substantial money (20+ million before wages are taken into account) into the club this window. At least during the Ince debacle we still had sellable assets and a strong squad assembled by souness and hughes, respectively. It is looking like we could lose both Samba and Jones this window, and have no money or transfer funds to show for it. We would be left with no substantial sellable assets other than hoillet, who is yet to sign a contract and a ageing squad, full of unknowns, journey men and past it internationals looking for a last pay day. I would say it is looking like we have been set back 10 years if our two best players are to leave with no money to show for it.
Lurid Coat Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Onuoha has been discussing a move with another club... Do Rovers actually have the money to buy him? Or Mongongu for that matter? I know it is set up. Monaco expect it to happen. However. I look forward to finding out. Are things seriously so bad that we don't have the money to buy Mongongu at £2.5m? I'm lost for words if this is true. What happened to the £16m we got for Jones?

Black Burn Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Who? Ex-Liverpool keeper. Apparently Lowe wants him as a youth goalkeeping coach from their old times together. As a bonus he is a third choice goalkeeper who can cover for Robinson and Bunn.

DeadlyDirk Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Is Hargreaves worth a punt after his fitness troubles, last time he was fit I rated him as one of England's better players, although that was around 2006. Wonder if he'd be prepared to consider a largely appearance based contract just yet or if he still thinks he can get fit regularly.
